I played with Vinnie twice onstage in 1994 w my KISS tribute. He was incredibly nice to us and insisted that I play the guitar solos to the songs he played w us on stage ( which is borne out by the video). He also didn't wear his wig back stage with us. Lol he had hair like Abe Vigoda. Completely bald on top with hair on the sides like in the old days before guys shaved their heads.
Would you say when you saw him he generally looked a bit strange? I've never met him, but every time I see a picture of him or interviews he looks odd. On stage he looks a lot better
weird, I met Vinnie Vincent in 1996 and he was in the open, meeting people, signing his VVI albums and CDs - NO KISS records though - with his wife and he was super nice.
He was nice because he wanted everyone to buy his merchandise including that 4song tape he was trying to sell which became more evident later during the convention tour according to what we heard afterwards where he wouldn't give autographs unless you purchased one ...he's a phony & based on the prices he was asking on his auction items it became more clear to many that he didn't care about his fans at all as Im sure the only people who bought the over priced merch were investors not fans !!

The ROCKLINE show was awesome! I had about a 3.5 hour drive and listened during the drive. It kept me alert, entertained, and engaged. Great interview and guest.
One of the first artists to wear hair extensions was Jimi Hendrix. what's the big deal if an artist wears a wig, a toupee or extensions? Its no different than wearing stage clothing or using stage props. More artists wear them then you'd ever suspect.
***** Stanley actually wears something called a "Fall" which is a hairpiece that sits behind your own hairline. Paul's front hairline on his shorter, everyday hair is his own with the hairpiece sitting behind it, but the KISS hair is a 100% full wig.
***** he had his front hairline redone with plugs so he could wear the "fall". How old you are is irrelevant to hairline - your genes are - hairline genetics from your mothers side determines your hair loss - if any. Peter Criss still has all his hair. Graham Nash, Ozzy, Geezer Butler, Paul McCartney all have incredible hair at their ages.
***** "Plug" is an old term of what they refer to now has a transplanted hair. Somewhere on your mother's side determines male pattern baldness. Also be aware that the gene can skip a generation. I worked with three brothers and the middle one had a full head of hair while his older and younger brothers were already balding in their late 20s. That's Ozzy's hair - that's Bruce Dickinson's hair, that's Geezer Butler's hair, that's Mick Jagger's hair etc. etc.
If you look some guys that still hair naturally they usually have a low hair line . With a start that is somewhere superposed on the or before the Arcade eye tempe . Ozzy is the case , Alice cooper , david coverdale , and some other latins or italians especially as profile with that type of low hairline and thick full ball of hair mass . That my case too . The guys that loose hair have hairline relativly high usually.. Behind that arcade angle

Heres a wig story: I heard a guy who spent personal time with Vinnie state that in the 80’s he wore a wig though he wasnt bald because it saved time styling his real hair every night. So I go back & see old photos of his natural hair verses the wig & it’s obvious!!! Theres NO WAY u could do anything to get THAT hair THAT big.....regardless of time. 😆How could people enable this guy??!! Blahaaa!
I can confirm Alexx' Vinnie story. I was there. In the bus. Actually, here is a little addition to the wig situation. At one point Vinnie was combing his wig and while doing that is was wiggling on his head. I saw that and imitating it to a friend next to me. When I looked in Vinnie's direction, I saw his girl friend laughing, because she saw me imitating it. Vinnie did not see it. By the way, his girl friend was really nice. But Vinnie got crazier and more unreasonable by the day. I remember leaving Vinnie at the hotel as if it was yesterday. I hated the guy at that point. I still feel so sorry for Gerhard, the promoter. He left the tour for three days because he literally got sick of the situation.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO @Michael Brandvold at the rest of "3 Sides of the Coin". Guys I love your show! I was just relistening to this podcast with Alexx. What a great episode. In case you're interested, I played lead guitar in a local LA Band in the late 80's called. Redline. During those days we played with Lita Ford, Warrant, Poison, etc. I was good friends with Paul Gilbert (guitarist for Racer X and Mr Big). In this video you discussed Warrant possibly being a manufactured band....they were not. They went thru many incarnations. The only real (original) member was Eric Turner. Warrant was his band. At the time, Warrant, Racer X and a few others were consistently selling out their shows. Racer X had scheduled a showcase for record companies. To get the largest crowd possible, they had their friends Warrant open the show for them. As luck had it, the record company signed Warrant instead of Racer X. It's weird how things happen. Warrant went away to begin writing and recording for the first album. I remember some of the guys being bummed because the label hired another guitarist to play the guitar parts on the album. I believe it was Reb Beach but I'm not 100% positive it was him. I know this is a KISS podcast and thread, but I thought the 3 of you would still find this interesting. Peace and Happy New Year
I read that Eddie Van Halen was interested in joining KISS when DLR became unsufferable. I am sure Gene would have offered him a 1% deal with KISS to start off.

Mike I’m curious what does it feel like to have nobody care what you think? Must suck going through life like that. Oh well you can always watch men blowing each other.
Funny hearing Tommy say that "Two Sides of The Coin" almost sounds weird now... I've been slipping and calling it "Three Sides" since I started listening to/watching the show.
Apparently I heard Rock and Roll Hell. Is abt Ace Frehley. I read on the net it was six tracks. So you cant be sure. Its probably the best Kiss album ever made. If you but that album on you always have to turn it down.
Michael, have you tried to resample your audio to a lower bit rate, or mono, rather than cut parts out for Vimeo? Tons of free software out there that will do it in minutes...and if it's audio only...I don't think anyone would care if it were not CD quality. Might even be LESS work than trying to decide what to cut.
Bruce Kulick had a stage name like the Demon the Fox The Star Child. The Cat . The Spaceman . The Wiz or Ank Warrior. the new Kiss fans are unaware that Bruce Kulick was called The Tree. because he was known for standing still.
hopefully Vinnie Vincent will take Mark Slaughters advice and come back and do an interview with Eddie Trunk.people enjoy beating someone when their down. Mark Slaughter is Absolutely right you can cower or be courageous and I hope that Vinnie Vincent will come back out of hiding. word too Vinnie Vincent you have to fight against Bullies. don't let them beat you be Courageous. \mm/
Julian (Jude) Lennon would bug John to take him to see Kiss. im a Julian Lennon fan. I like he's photos. I spoke to him at the Herbert Art Gallery in Coventry when he had he's photos for sale. I said you still a Kiss fan. he said sure. I mentioned your podcast. he said that he seen it. . Vinnie plays on six cuts of Creatures. I read it on the net
Whatever happened to "The Vinnie Jar"?? Whenever one of you mentioned Vinnie's name, you had to put a dollar in the jar. Am I remembering that right....didn't you have that in older episodes......or am I losing my mind?? Anyways, another good show....Alexx is a trip! Long Live Three Sides!
80s 'Kiss' (not to be confused with 70s KISS) is too easily mocked. Vinnie Vincent doesn't help the debate. I find it curious that era has its loyalists. Still interesting to hear the gory details - I suppose it is much like passing a car wreck on the highway. If anyone is to believe Vinnie "saved" 'Kiss' via compelling song craft that yielded stirring classics like "Lick It Up" or "Gimme More" then I suppose Christopher Guest and Micheal McKean are to be counted as valid of serious consideration as well. Anyhow I enjoy the show. Here's a topic to debate: did Bob Ezrin *actually* produce 'Revenge'?

There were not enough questions about Paul and Gene. I understand that. Probably never met them enough. Good show. I wish Vinnie would come out of hiding to do a proper interview. Just don't scare him. Ask questions about music and leave him alone about KISS. I know it is what the podcast is about. He will open up if you are gentle and not WTF on him.
i like the Metal Tech REH Video and Speed Ball where he rips the guitar a new asshole, then calmly slows down some of his licks and says, " some guitar players have asked how i play this lick"
Also great show fellas , loved it yet again you are all punching above your weight , absolutely fantastic episode. And an aside I can not believe one of the commenters down below having a dig at Alex about his facial Tick . For fuck sakes people, Do you all feel tough sitting behind a screen and trolling a man who was so open and honest and gave up 2 hours of his time for our pleasure , about what he experienced with a certain member of KISS . Jesus grow up ! most of us are not perfect and we all have our issues whoever we may be , and for that person to be so disrespectful to a 3 sides guest is appalling . Fuck I hate Trolls like that I'd like to see that prick in an ally he wouldn't last 1 minute with me face to face he'd be pissing his pants in fear..
+Tom Sommers Good show! on the strength of your love of cheap trick (a band i have never really checked out other than surrender etc) i bought in color and heaven tonight which i am listening to for the first time this weekend - blown away - what do i buy next?
Hi Scott! Like Tommy I am a huge Cheap Trick fan too so maybe I can help You out. After purchasing the two albums You just got I would say the next two to check out would be Cheap Trick's debut album self titled 1977 it has the awesome song "Mandocello" on it and after that You can't go wrong with "The Dream Police" 1979 both are solid rock albums from start to finish. I also really like the most recent album "The Latest" 2009 it contains the songs "When the lights are on" (great Slade cover!) And "Sick Man in Europe". If You want to really save money and build a great Cheap Trick collection quickly check out the box set "Cheap Trick the complete Epic Albums" it has 14 discs which contain everything from the 77 debut to "Busted" 1990 plus The "Live at Budokan complete concert" and the hard to find "Found all parts" E.P. 1980. All the discs are digitally remastered and contain rare b-sides, alternative versions, outtakes, and live versions. It is also available for digital download too and can be easily found on Amazon. Hope that helps You out. They are a great Band!!!!
Rock bands wear wigs because fans demand image. Look at Metallica fans raging against the hair cuts lol. Layne Staley could have been balding & no one would have cared because the fans were/are just different. Same with Rage Against the Machine or the Beatles later in their career. But if Elvis had walked out bald, Oh boy!! Weird huh? How some artists can b bald (Joe Cocker) but not others. Same with actors. Woody Harrelson & Jack Nicholson, no problem....but Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise, certainly not acceptable by many.
1000% correct, I thought I was the only one who thought so. Great guitarist, but I never thought Bruce Kulick looked like a member of KISS. The look, attitude or showmanship.
best 80s Kiss album's Unmasked . The Elder. Creatures of the Night. Lick It Up. Animalize Asylum . King of the Mountain. and a couple of other cuts was good. Crazy Nights is a good album. Hot In The Shade . would of been a great album if they cut the fat off and released it has a ten track album.
New KISS venture for KISS nursing homes , none of us are getting any younger just saying , all of us are becoming more decrepit and old KISS fans as the days and nights go forward and we will now have a safe place for all of us to go in our retirement ... It makes complete sense lol lol lol ........
@Amber H Good for you. I was disappointed because Nikki Six claimed their next album would be more gnarly and way heavier than Shout at the Devil. That's why I was so disappointed.
Nup , Burn Bitch Burn was a hell of a lot better than , Lonely is the Hunter ! Oh my god I bought the 45" single of Heavens on Fire and Lonely is the Hunter was on the B side and I thought to myself oh my god this album is gonna be absolute rubbish. I still can't listen to Animalize because of that 1 song . Yuck lol ... But why do I like Hot in the Shade ? I must be mental .lol lol .
I’ve wondered what Vinny does to pay the bills? He’s been out of the spotlight for 30 years. How does this guy survive day to day? Songwriting royalties? They can’t be that much. Conventions? How much can he make with those? Fascinating topic if you ask me.
i think it's awesome a songwriting virtuoso lost his mind becoming the fastest shredder on the planet , and then basically never played lead guitar again. Like a Heavy Metal version of Mike Oldham tubular bells
Vinnie should have stuck to writing songs only he could have been crazy staying at home and no one would have noticed the difference. Some of the best songwriters like Bob Dylan,Willie Nelson, and Neil Diamond write better songs for others than themselves (just my opinion). The songwriter for Elton John(Bernie Taupin) was happy just writing songs. If that was my only job I wouldn't complain but even if I did I would have listened to others advice after hearing it over and over and over.. The first step in recovery is to realize there is a problem. If the paying music fans don't want me famous I couldn't push myself in front of the spotlight because fans will push me back over and over.. Vinnie was a talented songwriter for Kiss, but it's also talent to make someone else's words and make them their own and also make them hits. Paul and Gene know how to spot talent. It is all of parts that keep the wheel rolling. No one person can start KISS nor can one member stop KISS. Paul Stanley is right, the band is bigger than any and all members. Great Interview this dude is funny as well. I think he could have a career just following Vinnie around. They would never run out of material and could be the longest reality TV show.

23 minutes before you get to it.. .....? Ugh
Vinnie Vincent plays lead on six of the nine Creatures Of Thr Night album
+Dayle Tranter no he didnt...it was adam mitchel if i am not mistaken
he wrote a few on that album
Apparently I heard Rock and Roll Hell. Is abt Ace Frehley. I read on the net it was six tracks. So you cant be sure. Its probably the best Kiss album ever made. If you but that album on you always have to turn it down.
+Rex Salyers you can tell he's playing on Danger. That's unmistakably Vinnie.
not sure but i am pretty sure someone else played that...check out 3 side interview with adam
👉🏼So VINNIE was ALRITE after all ‼️Just like I thought🩸
According to comments
Michael, have you tried to resample your audio to a lower bit rate, or mono, rather than cut parts out for Vimeo? Tons of free software out there that will do it in minutes...and if it's audio only...I don't think anyone would care if it were not CD quality. Might even be LESS work than trying to decide what to cut.
Great show!!! I laughed so hard and often it was like watching a roast! Got to have him back on!
+Henry Chin Hi Henry
+Tom Sommers Hi Tommy! Great show once again! Look forward to every Tues. to catch you guys! Even the 3+ hour show!
I am not Peter's wife, JJ is my friend - sure, and I am not offended by this week's episode whatsoever!!
Ace is Ace
I’d purchase a Vinnie Vincent guitar. Not pink though.
In Australia 3 hours drive would not get you out of a state. To travel from east to west coast in Australia (Sydeny - Perth) is 42 hours drive
Bruce Kulick had a stage name like the Demon the Fox The Star Child. The Cat . The Spaceman . The Wiz or Ank Warrior. the new Kiss fans are unaware that Bruce Kulick was called The Tree. because he was known for standing still.
Yes, his performance is rather wooden.
Alexx Michael, is that a real person? It looks like Mike Myers playing a huge prank
It's mike meyers wearing his wayne's world wig and doing a Sprokets impression.
this is where 'family guy' gets material to use
Alexx, looking forward to you coming to Australia ..
Alexx is really cool and very honest.
Hell Yeah Alexx Unmasked Rocks!!!
hopefully Vinnie Vincent will take Mark Slaughters advice and come back and do an interview with Eddie Trunk.people enjoy beating someone when their down.
Another great episode. Alexx is a trip!! I hope Peter missed this episode...lol Keep up the great work!
look at this guy waynes world waynes world party time
Whatever happened to "The Vinnie Jar"?? Whenever one of you mentioned Vinnie's name, you had to put a dollar in the jar.
Am I remembering that right....didn't you have that in older episodes......or am I losing my mind??
Anyways, another good show....Alexx is a trip!
Long Live Three Sides!
+Chief Broken Arrow we will have to bring that back, wont we
80s 'Kiss' (not to be confused with 70s KISS) is too easily mocked.
Here's a topic to debate: did Bob Ezrin *actually* produce 'Revenge'?
gg you are right. The Wiz is all over that album
Space Invader was great.
Please, i'm French, help me , because je ne comprends rien Est-ce que quelqu'un peux m 'expliquer de quoi cela parle , because, everybody rient (rigolent) but I don't now why ? thank you so much. Merci 👱♀️👍
There were not enough questions about Paul and Gene. I understand that. Probably never met them enough. Good show. I wish Vinnie would come out of hiding to do a proper interview. Just don't scare him. Ask questions about music and leave him alone about KISS. I know it is what the podcast is about. He will open up if you are gentle and not WTF on him.
go to a uhaul store for the box or take it straight to a ups store or fedex store they will package the floor mats
Did he ever wig out?
Vinnie "WIGZ" Vincent!
i like the Metal Tech REH Video and Speed Ball where he rips the guitar a new asshole, then calmly slows down some of his licks and says, " some guitar players have asked how i play this lick"
This guy is a fucking genius!!
+tano orlando Thank you
+Tom Sommers Good show! on the strength of your love of cheap trick (a band i have never really checked out other than surrender etc) i bought in color and heaven tonight which i am listening to for the first time this weekend - blown away - what do i buy next?
+Tom Sommers Also love it when Mark's head is perfectly positioned with the gold records behind him. its Mickey Mouse!
Hot In The Shade . would of been a great album if they cut the fat off and released it has a ten track album.
even Mark St John . Mark Norton had a nick name. Skid Mark
i like Space Invader too
Stupid Bloody Tuesday. Lennon wrote on I am The Warlrus. he was Killed on Tuesday
New KISS venture for KISS nursing homes , none of us are getting any younger just saying , all of us are becoming more decrepit and old KISS fans as the days and nights go forward and we will now have a safe place for all of us to go in our retirement ... It makes complete sense lol lol lol ........
+tano orlando LOL
Theatre of Pain was disappointment but Mick Mars best studio solo ever was Home Sweet Home.
I thought it was just me that thought Gene's songs sucked on 80s non-makeup albums. I agree totally with Alex.
Burn Bitch Burn, the worst thing Gene has ever written or song.
I’ve wondered what Vinny does to pay the bills? He’s been out of the spotlight for 30 years. How does this guy survive day to day? Songwriting royalties? They can’t be that much. Conventions? How much can he make with those? Fascinating topic if you ask me.
Money laundering
very boring
from the comments so far the ankh warriors are pissed...lol !!!!
i think it's awesome a songwriting virtuoso lost his mind becoming the fastest shredder on the planet , and then basically never played lead guitar again.
Like a Heavy Metal version of Mike Oldham tubular bells
Except Tubular Bells is a classic song that will live forever… VVI will never have a classic song like that.
Cylon Warrior??? Dude.......Cylon Raider \m/
I bet Cherry Curie is one of those girls who doesn't listen to guitar solos
This is why you NEVER meet your heroes.
I've met MOST of mine (some in their own homes). Some you win, some you lose.
the album version of ACE's "SISTER" is way better in my opinion mark. super thick and heavy.
