Old Man Voll forgetting his wife’s face was already rough, but Frieren realizing his senility wasn’t an act anymore actually got a tear out me. Love how much this series hurts me.
I have dreams of doing things with my wife and I can't make out her face but when I wake up, I know who it was. It's funny because I feel sad but during the dream I am enamored. So when I heard Old Man Voll. talk about that, ugh I felt empathy..
I feel like one of the reasons Himmel didn't like propose his love for Frieren, was because of Old Man Voll, he saw how sad and alone he was since he was a long life species, and didn't want to put the same burden onto Frieren?
I think it's because Himmel understood that Frieren was incapable of reciprocating his love anyway. It took her many more years to process her feelings towards them, I don't think Frieren was emotionally mature enough to love somebody.
Come to think about it, 14-16 is like a romance trilogy in some way. From the begin of the love to the end stage of love, each episode has a story represent some part of a relationship.
Maybe Himmel realized the effect of interspecies relationship with different lifespans with Old Man Voll. Which led him to not confessing his love to Frieren. and making statues everywhere to make sure he is not forgotten.
Fern and Stark blossoming relationship has to be one of my favorite elements of this well crafted series. The emotion content is written to a very high level.
One beautiful, sad thing that is implied in this episode is that the statue of Kraft has him as a stern warrior and his friend is a priest. Now days Kraft travels as a simple priest, like his still keeping his friends will alive after all this time 🥲
another thing people have theorized is the elf is not kraft. and the elf has taken the name of priest . no one knows the priest's name but kraft is known because he is alive. so kraft took that name to carry on the priest friend's legacy because he passed on due to the life span being so short compared to elves.
Frieren not wanting to tell Old Man Voll they already defeated the Demon King is especially sad yet heartwarming because if she did he'd lose his final purpose in life, forget about his wife, and completely wither away and die. After all, he's only still here because he promised his wife to protect the village until the Demon King was defeated.
That night time convo with Voll was such a rollercoaster. First they brought tears to my eyes, then they made me laugh as they streamed down my cheek. The emotions are so genuinely communicated that there isn't even a feeling of whiplash, and that blend is what makes it all feel so real. It's never just one thing--the complexity mirrors reality so it's impossible not to relate.
Old man voll is 1000% the reason himmel never directly told frieren he loved her, he saw the direct consequence of love between a long life species and a human 😢
Two of the three great ships of Frieren season one have set sail (Frieren and Himmel, Fern and Stark). You'll have to wait for episode 18 for the third.

“But our party only has socially awkward members,” is a line I just can’t but help love.

Agree.

I didn't notice that!

@@coolguy845 Love that 👍

This show is honestly just astounding. Even ‘boring’ episodes are excitingly intriguing.
この回のエピソードは非常に象徴的で、前半は忘れたくない人(フォル爺と妻)、後半は忘れられたくない人(忘れられた英雄クラフトとゴリラ)のストーリーなんですよね

I'm so interested to know what Kraft and his friend did to get a statue of them built.
Kraft was basically the OG hero…the original hero’s sword was his
@@SuchAccuracy whoa. He's that big? And no one knows him?
@@NileSwimmerhe is pretty ancient thats why
I mean if Gorilla is still alive and Sein went to find him, I think they'll eventually cross paths with Frieren's party
7:11 Sam just adding fuel to the depression fire
Voll was probably the reason Himmel didn’t confess his love to Frieren. He didn’t want Frieren to turn out the same as Voll, who clings to the past
Old Man Voll literally just a side character but we fell for him so hard
This episode is both one of the most beautiful and most painful because of Old Man Voll.
Great reaction!

That ship bw Ubel and Land is one of the cutest ever. They're really cute together and lesbian ladies too
No spoilers! Also, that's not the ship to which I was referring. :)
Please consider doing a series reaction of Blue Eye Samurai.
Thank you for the reaction
Are they know frieren the top 1 anime of year?
Recommendation: to your eternity
I'd love to watch them react this show because few reactors that I like react to it but it seems a complicated show to react because of copyright.
😍Dani🥰
Please react to parasite:the grey teaser/trailer it’s directed by the same person that did train to busan
Sad to see Sein leave the party but he's a strong priest. I hope he'll be back soon with good news about Gorilla
Sams a Gojo girl for sure🫶🏼🦋
