Cool detail is that Kraft's statue is made of stone while freirens is made of copper. indicating just how old that statue is and giving us a clue to the time it was built in.
I hope Kraft finds himself to that village one day, considering he seems to despise the fact that no one remembers his heroic deeds, I think he'd find it touching to see that he and his (I assume) friend are still being celebrated and guarded a millennia after, even if their names are forgotten
Kraft actually called Frieren young during the episode he was in, and also mentioned everyone has forgotten their deeds, odds are good it was well over 1k years ago when that statue was made.
man that line from the old dwarf about defeating the demon king really got me... like Frieren said he pretends to be senile but it's not even a joke anymore, that man ACTUALLY got dementia. And he's still just defending that village even when he doesn't know why anymore
I think Himmel realized what he'd subject Frieren into if he bound her to him when he interacted with Voll, that's why he let her be. Voll remained stuck in stale, long life because of his commitment to his wife. I love that there's no judgement there as there's no right or wrong way to live. His name is really apt to him, to be set free, to be limitless and to aspire great heights. He let her do that. He just became my favorite character despite not being a magic wielder.
I just now noticed the parallels between the old dwarf and Frieren. Both hide their strength to make enemies underestimate them and both are motivated in their actions by a loved one who isn't alive anymore.
Time marches on. This show is basically one big thesis on the matter. The end of one individual isn't the end of the world. Even the end of us as a collective isn't the end of the world, regardless of how we may grieve over it. Time marches on and even "saving the world" doesn't amount to much when the world has seen countless apocalyptic events and still keeps turning. One day, humanity itself will cease to exist and no living thing will remember us after. 👌
@@Slays_Media Oh yes, absolutely. I'm in love with the philosophy of the show. If anything, it shows the value of archiving history and learning of it all. despite it's transience. The fact that the "hero party" was not the only instance of there being famous heroes is so wonderful to me especially. That paired with the story of Himmel and the sword underlines that nothing is predestined and anyone can be a hero.
My favourite unspoken detail is that in the statue had Kraft as a warrior and his companion was a priest and now Kraft is a priest. Its like he's carrying on the will and memory of his friend who is long forgotten 🥲
Two sets of statues in different locations, anyone else notice Kraft and his buddy were dressed much the same as Flamme, Frieren and most of the background people from the 1000 years ago flashback back around Ep. 10 or so? Makes me wonder if the statues were made of stone 'cuz bronze was to valuable a resource at that time. Kinda suspect Kraft ended up making a Priest/Monk in memory of his friend since no one remembered him anymore.
For me it was more shocking that he joined 2-3 episodes ago and now there's a chance they gonna split again, it's so rare for a story to get a party and split that fast, usually it took a long journey like Vivi from One Piece.
@@Ash_Wen-li It still rare, I compared to OP cause it''s the most mainstream one and easy to compared. And you said short anime, the it's not a comparison to begin with, Frieren is a long series from Sunday, not a short series, so comparing it to a shorter anime is not the same.
the dance scene last ep was hand drawn, not rotoscoped! the animators are really giving it all for this series. re:Kraft's statue, it could be assumed that it was built more than 1000 years ago (likely much more) from context clues. It's also bittersweet that even though nobody remembers the righteous triumphs of Kraft and his pal anymore, Gorilla and Sein (to some extent) were nonetheless inspired by them.
Those statues of Kraft and his friend are definitely super ancient, Kraft called Frieren young and she had no idea who he was or what he did to get those statues so his story was probably already forgotten about by the time she was born. He very likely predates her by atleast a thousand years, which is pretty wild to think about
If you notice kraft hero statue the clothes they are wearing are like Tunics as in the time of frieren master this means that their hero deeds must had happen at least 1000 years ago... Remember even flamme is almost a legend
One thing to keep in mind. Frieren is 1000 years old and looks like a kid. Kraft looks like a grown-ass man, so he could be anywhere from 2000 to 5000, or even older. It's no surprise that nobody remembers what he did that made him such a legend.
Maybe Kraft was a hero from the mythical era or smth, the clothes and the fact he was a warrior then and everything. They were also called ancient heroes from the past or smth, probably thousands of years old.
Just a little thing, if you look at kraft sword in the statue it is the hero sword, wich means the sword is not going with anyone because its true owner is still around
i mean i think that's the point, love's beyond time and death, not risking connection and affection for fearing you'll outlive them, friends or lovers, feels more terrible. also, really love how they make each episodes, this theme being about remembering and how photos are revolutionary in keeping memories, there's really a sentimental lesson u get after watching
Frieren not telling Old Man Voll about the Demon King’s demise seems to me to be because she wants him to live on, as he said he’s keeping his promise to his long-gone wife and said wife wished for a peaceful era after the Demon King’s demise. So if Voll learn that that era has already came he would’ve fulfilled his promised and thus has no more reason to keep holding on. Remember Voll is at least 100 years beyond a typical dwarf’s expected lifespan, keeping the promise to his wife could be the only thing keeping him alive. Frieren doesn’t want to lose a long-living friend, so by my interpretation it made perfect sense she wouldn’t tell Voll.
Frieren making Stark train with Vol is also another way she made sure he’s remembered in the future. I don’t think I can finish this show without my heart breaking
The story will get very interesting from the new chapter starting next week. Many new characters appear and the series continues to be great. I can't wait to see those stories with everyone.
I think those statues may be at least half a millennia old… based on how Kraft was talking, it sounded like he was around for even the Elven heyday, which Frieren never saw. The real issue is- how long before stone like that starts crumbling?
Random shit i noticed in this episode: 1. I think that one squirrel that was like WHAT THE FUCK is following them and i laughed my ass off 2. The way they are showing their time with death after the hero himmel seems like they made him the jesus of their world lmao
Did u know that the elven monks name in ep 11 Kraft means power in Swedish. And Stark means strong. Himmel means Heaven. And Lügner (the clapped demon in ep 10) is close to Lögner which means lier. :)
Remember the Blue Moon Flower part where people didn't care/forgot about Himmel and that was about 80 years prior. Kraft's warrior days would likely be more than 500 years prior, ain't no way no human remembers that. We know Frieren is at least 1050+ years old, and Kraft looked at her like she was just a kid (comparatively), dude is omega old.
I would actually guess Kraft's warrior days would be more than 1000 years ago. It was mentioned that he is a hero that saved the world but the Demon King was the primary threat even back when Frieren was first taken in by Flamme. So Kraft saving the world would most likely predate that with him having helped defeat some major big bad from even before Frieren's memory.
It's even hinted by Kraft himslef, iirc he said there is no one who would remember him anymore meaning probaby all of them already dead/he is very old, added that Frieren is a "Kid" for him. He could be a hero like Frieren group but obviously more old cause it's also hinted he was doing a good thing in the past, probably a famous adventurer hence he have his own statue. I don't think people in this world would make a statue of someone if they aren't that famous. I'm just confused if they are famous why we don't see a lot more of his statues? Like maybe in a big city like Himmel party, or maybe it was just that old some of the statues broken already?? Hopefully we can meet Kraft again or getting some side story about him, or maybe got more hint of who is he actually.
@@Acatia2 That also makes sense, it's kinda sad that he lived that long but no one remember him anymore, not helping probably at the time he was active, Demon King still roam around, cause Frieren group is the one who actually defeated it. Even now we still see some Demon here and there after 80 Years of Demon King defeated, can't imagine back when Kraft still active how many Demon is roaming around cities.
kraft was there at the age of mythology remember freiren is like a child to him the hero's sword might even be his sword that he put in the stone following their adventure lol
the issue with writing the names of the heroes is that who's gonna be able to read it in a thousand years when the language has changed to the point it's not the same or there's no one left to read it
First off, 1:55 lol kingdom hearts and 7:30 luffy and 9:10 foghorn leghorn ! 😆 and secondly voll is a great character, even his wife died and his memory is fading away.. he's still protecting the village till his last day, and I think it sweet and cool. And to see frerein smiling while talking to voll , was a nice and moment 😊. ( cause both of them have longer lifespans then humans, so..) Btw 4:09 that trainings reminds me of when Yoda training luke.. lol and I think sein should part way with frieren group, it was nice getting to know sein but I think he should go find his friend.
Well remember, Sein did say he would go part way with them, will he stick to that vow? We'll see. Probably not going to go into Kraft's backstory all that much. Himmel and the party was a more recent accomplishment, but Kraft's heroics was so freaking long ago that no one remembers them. It kind of reflects the theme of how time marches on that this series has going for it.
Voll is voiced by Mitsuaki Hoshino who also voices Magellan (One Piece), Masayoshi (Komi Can’t Communicate), Masashi (Mob Psycho 100), Diseum (Wise Man’s Grandchild), Mayor (Beastars), Gaou (Juuni Senshi Bakuretsu Eto Ranger), Eisuke (Steins;Gate), Bezewanst (Ascendance of a Bookworm), Nobuteru (Haikyuu), Abo (Gintama), Belfor (Moriarty the Patriot), Arnold (Black Butler), Redford (Izetta), Galbi (Dragon Ball), & many more like the Japanese dub of Rocksteady (TMNT), King Babar (Babar the Movie), George (The Pagemaster), Slash (ReBoot), Lucius (The Batman), Gibson (SRMTHFG), Hammerhead, Robbie, & Uncle Ben (The Spectacular Spider-Man)
I'm pretty sure the Demon King wasn't defeated, and Stark's the prophesied hero that will actually kill them with that sword in the stone a few episodes back. That's probably why Stark's village was exterminated by demons as well; to try to take out the destined one.
I have heard many times lately how Elfs or Dwarves falling in love with Humans is equivalent to Humans falling in love with a dog. It's not; its more accurate to fall in love with a person who has a terminal illness and has a couple of years left and you see them suffer death. Comparing it to a dog-Human love is stupid
And there you go, the reason how HIMmel managed to clap the Demon king with a fake sword, they completed first the side quest then tackled the main story. I'm not suprised if by the time they faced the Demon king, there all had Max level and max stat and the Demon king be like "Oh shiiiiii..."
My theory crafting: Just as a reminder, Kraft called the 1000 year old Freiren a child. Also of note, Freiren had never heard of him before they met, meaning his deeds predate her birth by however long it took the world to slowly forget him and his friend. Kraft is fucking OLD. like capital OG old.
imo its worse than "He's going to forget again", she doesn't want to tell him because he will lose the reason to keep going and she doesn't want to be the one to do it to him.
Kraft is a priest now. He was a warrior before. Maybe he converted for his friend? Also Frieren is following her path from 80 years ago so following rumors from the last decade is not crazy.

I like how Frieren made Sheera realize the logic of how Omni-man thinks lmfaooo
man that line from the old dwarf about defeating the demon king really got me... like Frieren said he pretends to be senile but it's not even a joke anymore, that man ACTUALLY got dementia. And he's still just defending that village even when he doesn't know why anymore
I mean he does know why. That's one of the few things he's able to remember
That reminded me of Ghost of Tsushima
It's really interesting that there are other heroes that have since faded - Kraft's story must have been crazy
Its like he's carrying on the will and memory of his friend who is long forgotten 🥲
some translations for this episode:
Voll (dwarf) = Full
Tür (place where Gorilla is) = door
Kraft (the other elf) = Power/strength
Two sets of statues in different locations, anyone else notice Kraft and his buddy were dressed much the same as Flamme, Frieren and most of the background people from the 1000 years ago flashback back around Ep. 10 or so? Makes me wonder if the statues were made of stone 'cuz bronze was to valuable a resource at that time.
Kinda suspect Kraft ended up making a Priest/Monk in memory of his friend since no one remembered him anymore.
You guys forgot, Sein joined frieren to find his friend not to go with them
For me it was more shocking that he joined 2-3 episodes ago and now there's a chance they gonna split again, it's so rare for a story to get a party and split that fast, usually it took a long journey like Vivi from One Piece.
@@TheMattVis It happens in shorter anime. You can't really compare to One Piece
@@Ash_Wen-li It still rare, I compared to OP cause it''s the most mainstream one and easy to compared.
And you said short anime, the it's not a comparison to begin with, Frieren is a long series from Sunday, not a short series, so comparing it to a shorter anime is not the same.
I love Lupa-san's shirt! "筋肉女子" means a "muscular girl".
That's kinda hilarious 😂❤
the dance scene last ep was hand drawn, not rotoscoped! the animators are really giving it all for this series.
re:Kraft's statue, it could be assumed that it was built more than 1000 years ago (likely much more) from context clues.
He very likely predates her by atleast a thousand years, which is pretty wild to think about
I really like that Kraft's adventuring companion was a priest, I wonder how much that has to do with Kraft being a priest all these centuries later.
Imagine frieren in the one piece world
She wouldve lived through the blank century
Heh heh... there is someone who's lived through that period... in the One Piece World itself...

Just a little thing, if you look at kraft sword in the statue it is the hero sword, wich means the sword is not going with anyone because its true owner is still around
I noticed that the sword was the same however . I just thought it was Thor thing those who are worthy thing.but this makes more sense than that
i mean i think that's the point, love's beyond time and death, not risking connection and affection for fearing you'll outlive them, friends or lovers, feels more terrible. also, really love how they make each episodes, this theme being about remembering and how photos are revolutionary in keeping memories, there's really a sentimental lesson u get after watching
Frieren is old but Kraft is Ancient
cool detail is that they showed fern with a photo when she was first introduced because she was royalty and the photo was all magic-y aswell
I think yall are also forgetting kraft called Frieren YOUNG
This episode hits hard, reminds me of someone I knew who was senile but kept doing the same thing every single day without knowing the reason why.
13:18 never forget Kraft said frieren was Young so more like 2,000-3,000+ years
That Jamaican comment almost made me spit my drink out.. it so damn accurate
I think those statues may be at least half a millennia old… based on how Kraft was talking, it sounded like he was around for even the Elven heyday, which Frieren never saw. The real issue is- how long before stone like that starts crumbling?
Does Lupa know his shirt says "Muscle girl"? 💀
He might be a fan of those muscle girl bars. :D
Saido chestooo
@@randynguyen9006 onegai muscle!
Random shit i noticed in this episode:
1. I think that one squirrel that was like WHAT THE FUCK is following them and i laughed my ass off
2. The way they are showing their time with death after the hero himmel seems like they made him the jesus of their world lmao
Frierin such a chill show 😴
And Sooo GOD
“But our party only has socially awkward members”
Fr.
Did u know that the elven monks name in ep 11 Kraft means power in Swedish. And Stark means strong. Himmel means Heaven. And Lügner (the clapped demon in ep 10) is close to Lögner which means lier. :)
Kraft did say in his episode that the deeds he did are long forgotten.
I got the point but making analogy of marrying a dog still wild 😂
@@TheMattVis I would imagine a bunch of Kraft statues were destroyed during the reign of the demon king, which we know was a long period of time.
The smart idea would be continuing with frieran party, because if he’s dead then he’ll be there where they’re heading.
I got to hear Lupa's foghorn leghorn impression, this video is top tier 😆
it was hilarious how frieren really thought bro was joking about being senial the entire time lol, shes over here like "haha funny joke"
We seen magic photos before, when small child Fern was gonna jump off the cliff, she was looking at a pic of her family
"Even the most experienced of warriors can suffer fatal injuries if they're not attempting to defend themselves"
Are you hearing this, Goku?
Kraft is way older than Frieren. She doesn’t even remember him. Their time must have been way longer in the past that’s why no one remembers them
About marrying someone with a far shorter lifespan: the heart has a will of its own.
Kraft is super old . Man said there's none left to remember his legends
Kraft is even older than Frieren so that statue could conceivably be over a thousand years old.
You guys are gonna love the next arc I swear
That's why Kraft said that he was a "forgotten" hero
I mean Kraft did say frieren was young lmao and they called his statue ancient. There is no telling how long kraft has been alive for.
Love Lupa's vest, says "muscular women"
the issue with writing the names of the heroes is that who's gonna be able to read it in a thousand years when the language has changed to the point it's not the same or there's no one left to read it
Is that why in the Opening, Sein was never in the end of it? but there are Stark and Fern :<
Foreshadowing...
Yo? 2 mins and im here, what timing. Love your stuff
The dance actually wasnt rotoscoped or cgi! Apparently its all hand drawn!
( cause both of them have longer lifespans then humans, so..)
Btw 4:09 that trainings reminds me of when Yoda training luke.. lol and I think sein should part way with frieren group, it was nice getting to know sein but I think he should go find his friend.
este cap te enseña a cuando pones una estatua de alguien siempre pon el nombre de la persona y una breve descripción de que hizo 🤣
"It's like Marrying a Dog" 😂 Shenvicible..
This Ep made me so curious about kraft.
You know he is him when he has dios VA and jacked.
I swear to god, wearing my glasses is pointless with this show. I don't see shit with tears in my eyes anyway.
Great reaction!
Statue not being made out of bronze must mean its old af.
Voll is voiced by Mitsuaki Hoshino who also voices Magellan (One Piece), Masayoshi (Komi Can’t Communicate), Masashi (Mob Psycho 100), Diseum (Wise Man’s Grandchild), Mayor (Beastars), Gaou (Juuni Senshi Bakuretsu Eto Ranger), Eisuke (Steins;Gate), Bezewanst (Ascendance of a Bookworm), Nobuteru (Haikyuu), Abo (Gintama), Belfor (Moriarty the Patriot), Arnold (Black Butler), Redford (Izetta), Galbi (Dragon Ball), & many more like the Japanese dub of Rocksteady (TMNT), King Babar (Babar the Movie), George (The Pagemaster), Slash (ReBoot), Lucius (The Batman), Gibson (SRMTHFG), Hammerhead, Robbie, & Uncle Ben (The Spectacular Spider-Man)
Great Heroes are forgotten
Meanwhile Ea-Nasir gets immortalized on a clay tablet for selling shitty copper bars.
To be fair so did Gilgamesh
Sheera: It's like marrying the dog.
Yeah, the age difference the issue.
why did I just notice that she is wearing her masters' earrings? Lol
One way or another. If you want to get remembered you have to put in that work. Alexander the Great. Genghis Khan, Leonidas.
Flex or be forgotten.
I'm pretty sure that Dwarf is voiced by Yamamoto
NyQuill doesn't help you sleep, even says it in every ad.
i think frieren did not told the old man about the demon king dead coz the old man will not have a reason to live and protect the village anymore
and here we witness Monkey D Farmer
This anime is so sentimental
Bruh, imagine if this is how one piece ends 7:30 lmfaoooo
imo its worse than "He's going to forget again", she doesn't want to tell him because he will lose the reason to keep going and she doesn't want to be the one to do it to him.
Omniman was onto something
If this we find out that Gorilla Warrior finally met his end defending the city streets against the mighty dragon Zilla God, I shall be very happy.
Each week the show is just so consistently good sad it’s a break next week
I just found out that Fern and Maaa have the same voice..
Kraft is a priest now. He was a warrior before. Maybe he converted for his friend? Also Frieren is following her path from 80 years ago so following rumors from the last decade is not crazy.
