UNLIKELY CYPHERS: THE MUPPETS | THE STUPENDIUM feat. Dan Bull, JT Music, NemRaps, Chi-Chi & More!

- Deep within the electronic bowels of RUclips, beyond the reach of sensible content decisions, where the algorithm dares not tread, you will find a twisted void of improbable and ill-advised videos, where an impossibly popular format meets the most improbable of source material.
You have entered the realm of the Unlikely Cypher.
BRIGHT/FLASHING COLOURS WARNING
I've been made aware that the bright colours in Dr Teeth's verse at 3: 55 might be a problem for people with photosensitivity. Please be mindful of this verse in particular!

It’s 2023! And time to try something new! I say this fully in the knowledge that I actually started this project in 2021, but that’s entirely besides the point. I have always loved the cypher format. A whole troupe of creators coming together on a track with a shared theme. I loved the idea of organising one myself but no good cypher ideas I had felt like a right fit for the channel.
Then an epiphany. Perhaps the best cypher ideas for a channel like mine were the worst cypher ideas. And so the idea of ‘Unlikely Cyphers’ was born! I hope for this to be a recurring series. Not a regular thing, but as often as I can fit them between my main music video projects!
I’m a HUGE fan of The Muppets and have been for as long as I remember. So they felt like the perfect inaugural episode. Mainstream enough that everyone knows them, odd enough that the idea excited me. Strap in, the topics only get weirder from here!
A massive thank you to everyone who came together to work on this with me, I had a blast putting this together and getting to work with so many folks I’ve not had the chance to work with on the channel before, as well as some returning friends! And Especially to Bonecage who not only performed as Lew Zealand, but also composed the beat and mixed this monster of a track!

BRIGHT/FLASHING COLOURS WARNING
I've been made aware that the bright colours in Dr Teeth's verse at 3:55 might be a problem for people with photosensitivity. I always put a warning at the start of the video if there's any flashing but in this case, though there's no direct flashing light, there is some very intense colour which I've been informed may be a hazard for some people. Please be mindful of this verse in particular! I'm very sorry to anybody affected and I will be more mindful in future!
Bro...this is sick!!! Also this the only time that I will be watching a show cause of a song, I love the movies and this is just a masterpiece of art
Wow, so these cyphers could mean unlikely characters or unlikely things right? Sounds interesting and sure they might not be the ones we asked, but they might be the ones we never thought we needed
when is this coming out on Spotify?
In the future, specific time stamps might help! Since you are adding chapters to these cyphers you could just add the timestamp you can skip. Just a suggestion!
as an 11 year old muppit fan I LOVE THIS
The Muppets are never a bad idea. Occasionally a weird idea, but never a bad one..
Unlikely Cypress are not about ciphers that are bad ideas, it's about things you wouldn't think can be rap/song about. Like a card game cypre with uno, gofish, black jack, and others. Or a FNAF cypre with people rapping for each animatronic and stuff like that
@@lilzoomzoomboth of those sounds amazing 😭

This is the most important new RUclips series of the 2020s
Y e s
I didn't know you had that voice in you, Dan! I love it
I'm glad you think so! Thank you for sacrificing your larynx for this one!
Ok
Honestly, showing people things that are great but have lost relevancy can still bring in lots of views with these cyphers really is what RUclips needs right now
After my 34th listen, Sam the Eagle’s part has a backtrack which SOUNDS like patriotic American brass, but is actually God Save the Queen. Can’t let this genius and attention to detail go unremarked.
Well 'God save the queen' shares its melody with 'Our Country Tis of Thee' ;)
Those pesky redcoats!!!
@@TheStupendium Yeah, a lot of old songs from the from the 1700's and 1800's are just new lyrics put to much older melodies.
I had just noticed the same thing! (though as my country tis of thee)
All of them have a different instrument behind their lyrics
Dan Bull’s Gonzo impression was shockingly amazing. Like dead on! Definitely will be praying for more cyphers like this!
Freeced's Kermit is also absolutely amazing, but I think JT takes home the gold with his absolutely perfect Rizzo. He even nails Rizzo's voice crack perfectly.
Honeydew and Beaker's verse being structured like a Muppet Labs sketch is such a genius idea
I was hoping beaker would get dosed with some kinda experiment, and then drop some hard bars, before his last word contort back to meeps
@@Sleepy_Cabbage .... damn that wouldve been good
3:22-3:56
I also loved how the clock in the background was going completely out of control... just like in the Muppet Labs sketches!
How the hell did you manage to rap with the Swedish chef accent. This is easily one of your greatest videos, I hope the algorithm recognises such quality.
actually insane.
my favorite
Agreed
That was incredibly impressive
HE SPOKE SWEDISH
Even if there’s never an episode 2, this is still one of the best series on RUclips.
As a huge muppet fan I can’t believe I haven’t found this sooner. All the hidden references in the lyrics are insane, from Wilkins in Freecee’s verse to Frank Oz and Beretta, I’ve listened to the song a few times already just because of the lyrics.
And I am incredibly impressed with your Swedish Chef impression!!
Thank you so much! :D
@@TheStupendium Your takes on Bunsen and Beaker weren't anything to scoff at, either. Pretty close to the real thing, albeit with a British accent. Oh, I also wanna give props to Dan Bull for his flawless work as Gonzo.
I believe your Swedish accent is of the Skåne region.
Greets Sthlm
Contrary to popular belief, Wilkins actually wasn’t a prototype-Kermit, as Kermit already existed when those commercials were made. But it was still a great reference!
I was expecting The Swedish Chef's verse to be absolute gibberish and was utterly surprised to find out it was actually comprehensible while still sounding like his regular vocal patterns. Wowza.
Also, whoever did Gonzo just made my entire day, the voice impression was incredible and I will take my nonbinary rep any day of the week :)
Well to be fair, even normal Swedish Chef-isms are still vaguely intelligible.
If you check the chapters, it says danbull sung for gonzo
It did remind me of the Pyro verse in most fashionable video, if you read along it snaps in place mostly.
Yeah, the Chef's verse has the same energy as Pyro's verse. It's hard to tell just listening to it, but it is an actual full fletched verse

JT Music was perfect as Rizzo, couldn't have thought of a better person to portray him! Its great seeing old-timers like them in this cypher along with some slightly newer but still undeniably skilled faces! Bravo!
I think we need to take a moment to appreciate some of the other cypher ideas at 0:44. Some of them are furniture, the solar system, and I think one said condiments. Wacky races was also there and I actually really want to see that one😂
I saw MLP. If he pulls that off, and does it _well,_ he's going to get a ridiculous number of views.
I would listen to Stupe rap as a packet of relish.
Kinda hoping to see stupendium as dick dastardly XD I feel if the “fiend like me” song was anything to go off a ‘stache twirling villain would fit him well😂
@@Ariaofeffect Dick Dastardly only stops to cheat because the one time he did win legitimately he was disqualified for using an extend-o-nose, which not only was not in the original footage but Peter Perfect won once _using the same trick_ and they let it stand.
@@alaeriia01 yup, dick was robbed in that race... but he's still a villain tho... even in his own show he's the villain trying to intercept an american carrier pigeon to sabotage the war... and it's kinda implied to be one of the world wars, but never stated which one (tho going by the planes, even for the first their plane-tech is outdated)

Definitely the best part lol especially since the parts after are so good too!
I have been a Muppets fan for over forty years. There probably aren't many people on this planet who take the Muppets more seriously than I do. And this? This was worthy! The lyrics were in character, and some of the voices were perfect recreations. Thank you for giving me this at a time when I need more good things in my life. The fact that this has existed for 9 months and I'm JUST NOW finding out about it puzzles me. I'm quite happy though, everyone went hard (even the ones who didnt bother attemptingthe voices). Hopefully Scooby Doo is next in the series!!
Why am I not seeing any comments about the instrumental? Yes, this was an absolute masterpiece, having so many talented creators come together to rap about the iconic Muppets for 7 and a half minutes, but my LORD the instrumental! It just scratches my brain in a way I can just vaguely describe.
First, listening without the lyrics really emphasizes which part belongs to which character. Kermit's has a banjo leading it, Animal has drums, Rizzo has a record scratching, and Rowlf has his piano. The tone for each section drastically changes for who's speaking, and I love it.
Also, I notice details that are harder to hear with the lyrics, like that echoey "SCIENCE!" that plays during the Muppet Labs part, or that weird little laugh that plays during Lew Zealand's part. I didn't even notice the seemingly obvious applause in Fozzie Bear's part until I listened to the instrumental!
I'm definitely listening to every instrumental version Stupes makes from now on, and I recommend you do, too.
I like how the stupendium is saying how ridiculous and bad this is while making straight 🔥 like it’s no one’s business. Everyone did simply perfect. Simply. Perfect. Do more PLEASE.
"With our very special guests... uh, half of nerdcore!" xD
Why am I not in this? This is amazing.

I just wanna thank Danbull for the references to Muppets in Space. To this day it’s my favorite muppet movie!
I hope there's going to be more cyphers like this. This is pure gold. Everyone did an amazing job and never did I imagine hearing Chi-Chi having a PERFECT Miss Piggy. Keep it up Y'all ❤❤❤
Swedish Chef's verse was so spot on perfect and outstanding in every way, I feel like this entire cypher was just an excuse for that to be let out of him xD
I think it's awesome/hilarious how Statler and Waldorf and little jokes spread throughout the cypher like in the show. Makes me laugh every time
This feels like someone did the Waldorf and Statler bit as a joke on discord or something and next thing anyone knew this happened.
The banjo in Kermits verse is ADDICTING
Same with guitar in Dr Teeths
This was a song and series we never knew we needed and wanted. Not to mention that some of the impressions in this are amazing, especially Gonzo and Rizzo. Fun fact did you know Miss Piggy is actually voiced by a man, and its the same man who voices Fozzy Bear.
Ironically, both of their cypher parts use the phrase "hem and haw".
Also Yoda
And Bert.
does this mean miss piggy is a trans queen?
but, misss piggy is voiced by chi-chi, and fozzie is voiced by mgwire?
stupendium is the only person who can rap in an accent so well that it hides a swear word but is still intelligible

But I think we should stop and be switching it off
Oh! Oh! Beaky you broke it!
Beaker: Meep!
Dr. Honeydew: That'll be coming out of your paycheck
Beaker: Meep mee mee mi mi mo, mohhh...
Dr. Teeth:
Smoke kief with the show's chief, I'm the brainstem
Most peeps don't got soul beats payin' their bills
Tones deep through my nose breathe, in the mayhem
Cold beast with the gold teeth call me Bear Grylls
Organ got them pipes, and I got the piece ready
Turned cathedrals to theatres and left the seats sweaty
You ain't never gettin' bored when I slam the keys heavy
Yeah, they call me doctor cause I keep the beat steady
I ain't one for G major, skippin' over the beat break
Improvise on my sheets and flippin' into a key change
I'm countin' out my dough while they're jammin' on my Cheesecake
Gold records sold as my legacy gets replayed!
Rowlf the Dog:
That mad mutt Muppet, you must muffle and muzzle him
Flow is so dirty, there's much more than muck muddled in
Tatty and unkempt, so actually the main G
Couldn't tame me with a chain leash or lame treats
Take a big pause (Woof! Woof! Woof!) like a St. Bernard stomping
The kennel's going off, even got Churchill noddin'
When there's a frog in your throat it's like Kermit's coughin'
I'm a Great Dane, you're mundane, it's done mate
Underdog's winning this eight ways to Sunday
Lookin' all puzzled like the throw was fake
You better chuck us a bone or we can do this the rough way
Animal:
Agh! Ah! Arghhhhhh! Arggr! Grrrbrbrrlk!
Yeah, let me kick it back a couple decades and be frank for a sec
I'm the baddest bitch to bring a beat and bang on a set
Who's the maddest of the band? I think you'll hazard a guess
Rappers jealous of the fattest chain that hangs 'round my neck
Sanity ain't pals with me, it hangs by a thread
No sticks? No problem. I'm just bangin' my head (Okay!)
Yeah, ask around I'm the man they fear
Skirt-chasing vermin, y'all should get the women outta here
D.R.U.M. say the word, and I might appear
Bang, ba-bang, ba-bang, bang, onomatopoeia
Eclectic playin'! Electric mayhem!
Ya need another banger? Aight bet, just say when
Waldorf: You know, Schwabadi calls himself the werebear?
Statler: He does?
Waldorf: Yeah, because listening to him wears you down!
Statler: And I can't bear it!
Statler and Waldorf: (laughter)
Statler: Oh, it's the pig
Miss Piggy:
Make way for moi, after I go I leave you in awe
Yeah, I'm the pink diva with the main chutzpah
High class, en masse, hold the hem and haw
We're fine, divine, thank you, pardón?
You upstage me?!?! Hiyah!
Some say I'm way too much, but I say they're not enough
When I make a scene I'm getting that green
And I ain't just talkin' bucks!
Au revoir mon cher, my time is up!
Wait! That's all I get!!!!
Sam Eagle:
Hmph! Look at all this nonsense around me
The lack of decency and integrity is astounding
My word! This cypher has gotten out of control
These misfit degenerate freaks have got to go!
We needed some American rappers on the stage
We should have called Iggy Azalea, maybe Drake
(Mhm) So proud, so majestic
You should know that I am not the birdy to mess with
Mr. Kermit, here's a suggestion, perhaps don't add buffoonery in the next bit!
A bunch of weirdos and nerdies
It's hard to soar with eagles when you work with turkeys
Pepe the King Prawn:
Okay, now listen what I gotta say
Watch me tippy-toe on stage as I do ballet
The shellfish with the drip and the ice, Dwayne Swanson look-alike
You won't believe that this prawn actually fried your rice (Okay?)
I'm a prawn not a shrimp, I'm a player not a simp
I got married, I've got kids
The martial artist himself, Goro in disguise
Master of tae-prawn-do, catch you by surprise
Okay? Now prawn-to as I finish this up
The angel in the heart, the Muppet that will make you laugh
Dios Mio, where's my manners, I forgot to say
I'm Pepe the King Prawn! Okay?
Lew Zealand:
A fish is a normal fish if it lives and it swims in a pond or crick
And it doesn't exist as a fried dish served with chips
And it's also not, a boomerang fish!
Flying! Fishy! Boomerang!
I'm sardine to wreak haddock, but salmon's gotta do it
(Ugh! That's terrible)
Tilapia be the dude, throw a fish around the room
But barramundi when I do, it's coming right back to you!
The Swedish Chef:
Scoot and make way for some flavorsome Scandinavian
Throw the pot and for the show, put on your aprons
A handy Scandi, pantry vigilante, handy dandy
Flambeed Ramsay in de vanny, sendy packin' with some Gaviscon
I used to trust a blunderbuss when huntin' for the chickie
But they sendy a beretta when Jim Hansen left the kitchy
Disobedie gredies really need to quitty bitchy
Felt is mighty high in fiber and my trigger finger's itching
Singing Food:
He doesn't carrot all, he won't lettuce get away
This caper won't re-lentil he gets his five a day
And if this is the endive shallot I wanna say
Swede, beet-ing up the celery's a little underpaid
(I don't wanna daikon!)
Swedish Chef:
Tell me who's gonna listen to a talking gourd?
Checky lingy where de lingyberry sauce gets poured
If you're in a picky fixin' up a smorgasbord
Well the best recipuden have a Bork! Bork! Bork!
Statler: Say, that's the end of the cypher. Why didn't we get a verse?!
Waldorf: A verse? I'm averse to making this thing any longer!
Statler and Waldorf: (laughter)
Statler: This was a terrible idea!
Waldorf: Hm, that's it.

I hope you guys have as much fun making this series as we'll have hearing it.
The Swedish Verse really surprised me by being in the same Faux Swedish spoken on the show but it's such a Stupendium move, I tip my hat to you sir!
Then there's also the fact that this is 9 MINUTES LONG???!!! I didn't check the length before clicking on the video and I'm astounded by the amount of effort and passion put into a cypher that might not get off the ground! I think it's going to do great! Wishing you much luck! Can't wait to listen to this for hours!
It's not actual Swedish. It's the same kind of faux Swedish the Swedish Chef actually speaks.
@@h3lblad3 ah! I didn't know the Chef didn't actually speak Swedish! With the English lyrics at the bottom of the screen, I just assumed! Thanks for letting me know!
The swede bars!?
BRO. That was superb, and then to turn it to absolutely perfect character play, and THEN to hook up the subtitles with the goodies...
This was WAY better than I expected.
Best cypher I've listened in my life ngl
Really really hope the algorithm doesn't kill this series before we can get more of this kind of masterpiece.
I have been dying over the lack of new Muppet content that doesn't suck. You all have delivered an absolute BANGER that outshines anything that Disney has done in the last two decades.
This is so true. This is an awesome cypher where every part is perfect.
Look out for Muppets Mayhem this year (probably coming out in May), it's an Electric Mayhem series that was proposed and largely controlled by Bill Barretta so it has a good chance of being great. He's Dr. Teeth's current performer and wanted to do more EM content ever since their Outside Lands show in 2016
IDK I liked the last two movies and the Haunted Mansion was cute
@@fishdude2954 Thank you for the heads-up! That's fantastic news!
@@TehLucario Haunted Mansion had its moments for sure.
Can't wait to see/hear more 😁😆👍.
Thx for the heart Stupes 😃😄😆👍.
BRO I watched this when it came out and it still holds up today. As a huge muppets fan these rhymes are just GENIUS
Also I can definitely appreciate the AWESOME artwork!
Love how Honeydew starts with the most cliché rap beginning but then acknowledges that it’s lame and he’s built a machine to rap better. Genius! ❤
And it turns into a muppet labs sketch.
It works on a lot of levels.
You know it’s a good day when you’re a massive muppet fan and the first verse makes you pop off like a muppet getting thrown into the air, HOLY FUCK!
Was not expecting a Mr. Dawson reference.
Really? This massive Muppet fan was really thrown in the first verse by the use of Wilkins and Wontkins in the clips... and the simultaneous references in the lyrics to taking guns to TV spots... whoever wrote that seems to think Wilkins is Kermit, despite Kermit being older than Wilkins. Kinda diminished my enjoyment of the whole thing.
@@unicornfoal oh no I absolutely find that annoying too but it’s been VERY VERY long since I’ve seen anyone ever reference Kermit’s Swamp Years (it’s a guilty pleasure) so I had to go YIPPIE about it.
JT’s Rizzo is insanely good
I love Doctor Teeth's part. He's my favorite muppet! (and style icon!)
Okay, so after listening to this like a dozen times, definitely think that the best part is the instrumental. The fact that it changes for every single character to fit their vibe (Piano for Rowlf, the subtle “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” for Sam, turntable scratches for Rizzo, etc.) goes so far into building each character.
Most of the time a cypher instrumental is there just to enhance or provide consistency from one verse to the next. This one, entirely on its own, justifies the entire existence of this video. Never before have I listened to a cypher and thought “Ooh, gimme that backing track.”
You are my personal hero and the reason I exist.
You must be VERY happy right now.
Apple Music has the instrumental, now.
I love it when I see Chi-chi in a cypher but didn't expect her to nail Piggy's Voice and the "Wait that's all I get" YOU GO GIRL
I can't tell you how much I've listened to this since it dropped
Absolutely atrocious. If I could live in a world without this, I would be happy.
Some things aren't meant to exist
This
Is one of those things.

Stupendium is now into Rap Cypher territory? HELL YEAH!
As a half Swede, I loved your impression of the Swedish chef. It may not actually be Swedish but it's still great nonetheless. Well done sir 👍
It sounded just like him too! 🤣
@@BlackEpyon It really does 🤣
Wait the swedish chef.. spoke Swedish? I thought the joke was he spoke gibberish
@@2000TheKrewExtras it is gibberish
@@oliversherman2414 oh. Because your comment phrased it like in the show he acually spoke swedish
I love how every part has that characters music while mixing the main rhythm
Like Kermit having a banjo and Sam eagle having a trumpet
Stupendium, if you ever see this...THIS WAS BRILLIANT! The concept's great, the Muppet theming and references are top notch, and of course, the cast is giving a million percent! Looking forward to the next Unlikely Cypher, mate, and cheers!
As someone who grew up watching the Muppets this was an absolute joy to listen to and I was grinning the entire time. :) I especially liked the voices for Gonzo, Rizzo, Bunsen, Sam and Pepe since they sounded so much like the actual characters and, even though I was expecting a verse for the Chef to show up at some point, I definitely was NOT expecting one for Lew Zealand, of all people. That was a major surprise.
I haven't seen the muppets since I was little. I'm beginning to think most of the humor flew over my head... I'll have to revisit them now that I'm an adult.
I actually couldn't stop smiling throughout this entire video. If this series doesn't take off, I'm gonna blow a gasket. All of you guys are so talented and the fact that this exists makes me happier than I can say. Stupe's epic animation and editing skills is icing on the cake.
We need more of these, please.. We really really need more. From the Flintstones, the Jetsons, Scooby-Doo gang! This would be epic..
Walter: I-i.. can't sing to well, but I can whistle!
Just to say that I just played this for my 62yo uncle (who basically doesn't touch the internet unless he's asking me to order something online) who saw the Muppets more frequently when I was younger and he found this very entertaining! He didn't say that he had a favourite part, but he agreed with me that it was very impressive that you were able to rap as the Swedish Chef.
And given that there's almost 30 years age difference between us, I figure that's fairly impressive :D
I have huge respect for that Swedish verse. Absolutely amazing job
Thank you! The moment I had the idea for the cypher I knew that was how I was ending it. xD
@@TheStupendiumomg you responded 😳. Love your work. Keep it up
I don’t wanna hurt any of the other rappers’ feelings, everybody was great… but you saved the best for last. Your Swedish Chef was jaw-dropping!

This better be a reference to Community's "Well I'm a peanut-butter and I'm here to say" bit, because i am losing it over here
The 'I'm _____ and I'm here to say' is a rap joke that goes back decades as an example of a cliché rap lyric often used when writing a rap that is intentionally supposed to sound amateur or unoriginal. It wasn't a reference to community but we WERE both referencing the same thing! :)
@@TheStupendium
Ah, I see. Spectacular track, regardless!
@@itsPlasma06you can say its a Stupendius Track! ;)
Freeced, Dan Bull and JT Music off rip with the hat trick of BANG-ON impressions! Especially Dan, taking the wide chasm between accents in stride!
This was an absolute joy to listen to. I hope everyone had as good a time making this as I had listening to and sharing it with others.
so you'd say, "It's a Joy?"
On a scale of one to ten, how much do yall think Stupes just _really_ wanted to play Swedish Chef and this whole series is just an excuse for him to do it?

Sam the Eagle is my favorite Muppet character. That Sam the Eagle impression was spot on.
That was AMAZING!
Stupendium never goes stale never goes old and only gets better. Austin and Dylan :)
Thank you, guys! :)
Nobody asked for this, but I certainly needed it. As a longtime Muppets fan, thank you, every one.
I love that the letters have shadows on the muppet labs part,
“How many times have you watched this cypher?”
Me: yes
