I've watched part 1-8 so far and today I swam 1 mile in the ocean better than I ever have in my life! Now, I have not practiced the technique enough to completely do it the right way, but the little bit of insight I've obtained from the videos has helped me feel a lot more comfortable in the water, which saves my energy. I swim one hour a day every day, usually 5 days in a pool and 2 at the beach.
What I love at this video is that he things the same way I do. I love mathematics, so swimming for me is P ~ 2 * V², which means there is no big way to improve your speed with muscles if your technic is not perfect. And I love that he scrutinize all "known facts".
Thanks!! This series of videos is the best i have seen so far. Just watching once has already made me swim better, covering more distance with less energy. We have been swimming in the wrong way for a long time, most of us. Now, i feel that, with practice, i can improve my swimming technique so much and swim as far as i want, keeping a very good pace......
this leg-stroke is genius. i tried it the last two times at the swim, and the first time i succeeded in the timing and momentum i felt i was propelled forward with extreme ease. i was surprised at how efficient this two beat leg-stroke actually is. it was an exhilarating moment! :)
Thanks you very much the awesome mini series of the tutorials.... I greatly appreciate all the members who put there effort together to make such an awesome workshop happen... once again thank you very much...
hello terry , excellent explanation , and thx so much for showing all these videos for free!.. am sure lots of people will be following these instructions .. including me :) .. thx a lot once again !
Terry, thanks for posting. I've seen pretty much all of them now and it's fascinating the way you explain how swimming is all about ergonomy, effortlessness and our conception of water. I think you are 100% right and I cant wait to try your method. If I feel it works, I'll buy your video :) One thing though: You say that water doesn't like angles, yet you talk about the laser beam. How about an "ondulating laser beam", dolphin like, could that be an improvement? Or not possible? Thanks again.
I'm certainly no expert, but I'd say do whatever feels comfortable. I have a feeling that the right to left technique probably adds more balance to your stroke though...
I really respect Mr. Laughlin and I have all the progressions for swimming each stroke...but it seems to me that in freestyle in every stroke a "dead spot" is being generated.

Fantastic set of videos, by far the most useful I've found. Thank you very much.
Thank you very much ! I finally can swim more relax and longer !
Thank you! These videos are amazing. I've purchased your book as well. Much appreciated.
Thanks for the way of less tiring front craw ,will try it tomorrow.
Very interesting. Will try. But doesn't the slow tempo cause you to lose momentum and legs to sink?
you changed my life! thank you soooo much!!
Looks very natural, like it's supposed to be.Thank you
Selfcoach workshop best cycronisation while gliding. Good movement of hand and feet. Thank from TheDust
Thank you !!! I'm gonna try this.
Great video! would recommend for anyone trying to learn how to the 550m lifeguard pre-req test with ease
Is there a point where you stop moving your legs or you never stop?
Thank you!! . What should be the position of the hand fingers while catching the water and pushing? Should they be opened a little?
Gabi Ravhon open and relaxed - according to part 7 of this series.

Do you have to do the two beat kick with a right foot to left hand sync and so on? Or can you do right to right and left to left?

Is it better to look directly down towards the floor or look ahead for a better head position and to keep the body on track?
Looking directly downwards will help keep a better body position, if you look forward your body will tend to sink which will increase drag.
I see. Thank you. It's difficult to get the head aligned straight after the sideways breath, so I tend to look ahead & then down. I'll try again
Hi!
Is it better doing exercices with a pullbouy or not?

I have the same problem and I also have a problem dropping my arm. Did you over come any of this?
