For servos you can use marine grease for the gears and dielectric grease for the circuit board and just the dielectric for the RX. The RX can also be placed in a balloon with the neck cable tied a few times. Adding some silicon sealer in the neck will add further insurance. Much easier when you want to use the rx in a different model or need to re-bind it
It never ceases to amaze me, watching any RC vehicle running underwater! It just seems so counter intuitive. Great video and very helpful and informative! As usual. 👍😃👍😃
I would love to see a video on waterproofing the basic esc receiver combo that comes in the 124018 etc. To break it out of it’s enclosure or not then coat with something?
I know this is a bit old video. but mine, I use Kafuter K-705. it is transparent. its like a glue when you spread it on your electronic board and others. took almost 24 hours to completely dry for better result.
2.4 GHz does not really penetrate water very well,I learned that with the boats.40MHz is the radio that works for subs,27MHz doesn't work very well either.
I did this to my 12428 it would last a while I the snow but it would melt and get into the "waterproof" ESC so I spray boot water repellent into the ESC until it ran out and let it dry it works perfect now
Hi friends I need help I have a problem with the WLTOYS A959 I replaced a larger engine 540 (and connected it exactly the same to the new engine, 2 wires - red to red black to black) And the direction of the remote control changed. Back we will be forward and forward we will be backward Is there a way to fix this I'm I would be happy for your help Thank you very much assafmelman
@@xf1757 I have tried to change already (the wires are getting very hot) and this is also not a solution unfortunately (But I ordered the model B receiver) And I hope this will solve my problem Thank you very much for your help
Wassup! I am thinking of getting this as a waterproof project. Do you think that the circuit board on the motor is fine in water? It seems kinda concerning
Back in the bad old days I used to put my receiver inside a balloon to keep the wet out. The wires would just come out the neck of the balloon and sealed the whole lot up with rubber grease and an elastic band. How things change.
but ive had urethane conformal coating and acrylic conformal coating both fail for me too silicone had been most reliable ive done nut i dont paint outside of servo cases like u i break it apart and use waterproof grease in gears but while its apart i coat the micro chip itself and let cure then reassemble it its a cleaner looking finish and if by chance water does seap in the electronic chip in servo itself is coated anyway
I drove my absolutely standard a979 through a puddle (that was deeper than the car, to be fair) - and the ESC died. Fortunately I was already planning a brushless upgrade.
Oh god, I cant resist this, noooooooo, my stupid old dad jokes never stops... Pond, James Pond, to your service! (cringe for myself, haha!) P.S It should be named "Watersports" on the side of the chassi...
@@danne77sthlm Look forward to it. Good!! I encourage more of the madness, James Pond that is, floating along with Tomley garage, 'eh? These car people are too critical, love that guy's approach to his channel. 👍💯

That’s a first never seen wltoys under water, and great tips 👍🏻
Great vid thanks for the info on how to waterproof our Rcs. Thanks for taking the time to do this vid. Awesome dude.
No problem Alex, thanks for watching
if you put the board into the cup before spraying, then pull it out you get an additional coat for zero additional work. ;)
Corrosion X does a good job on waterproofing electronics, lots of fast electric rc boaters swear by Corrosion X method.
Yes, lots of options out there
Tips , on waterproofing, is ALL was COOL Stuff, 👌 backyard RC 😉
Cheers dude

Love the test and thx for sharing

Great video very informative...can u do a video on water break ins on ur rcs like how to do it
Thanks again! Will wd50 help if sprayed on the car as a coating?
Thanks for this Phil
What about the motor and wires and battery?
That is awesome 😯
Thanks dude
Wouldn’t Elmer’s or white school glue work?
Hmmm... not sure
I got a WLtoys124016 wet and now it’s not working right what to do
Many thanks for taking the time to do this. How do you waterproof the esc slide switch? Cheers

Switch polarity on the motor. Red to black, black to red 👍

Should still be ok

wow!!!....amazing
That's great👍
40 mhz will penetrate several feet of water you should have a good signal up to about 35-40 meters
Back in the bad old days I used to put my receiver inside a balloon to keep the wet out. The wires would just come out the neck of the balloon and sealed the whole lot up with rubber grease and an elastic band. How things change.
Are the wpl moters waterproof
Should be 👍🏻
brush on conformal coating will submersably waterproof tho
Yes, however I've not had perfect results with it, but I know some people do.

Not sure it’s got the speed 👍🏻

Probably best to not put it in water then 😅
