I really hope we see the CLK GTR in Gran turismo 7 or 8, race car and road car! Fun Fact: The CLK GTR was supposed to be featured in gran turismo 2 but was cut due to licensing issues (probably EA being shitty as usual)

There was a go karting place in the Outer Banks that had closed-cockpit karts with hatches on top that I think you had to have a license to drive, either that or you had to be a certain size, and I was neither. I was like 4 going on 5 and this was actually the first time I was grown enough to drive any go kart on my own. But anyway, the enclosed go karts my dad and my uncle got to drive were modeled after CLKs. I can't find any pics online of these karts online, and I thought there was a chance I might've just dreamt it 23 years ago and it became implanted in my memory that way, but I asked my uncle about it, even showing him a diecast for reference, and he remembers it. There was also a place we went to a couple of times in Cherokee that had Viper-looking open go karts with real-world sponsor liveries. I remember there being a Tabasco one, which could've just been a NASCAR livery like a lot of those places put on their karts, but the other one I remember was Sprite, and I don't know of any real-world paint schemes that could've been based on. I think it was my local Frankie's Fun Park that had a Rice Krispies Treats #5 kart at one point, which I guess was based on a real Terry Labonte scheme that I only became aware of afterwards, but it still seems like a pretty random, forgotten alternate scheme to choose to put on a go kart.
That's cool to know, didn't think there were any go karting places that had modelled Kart shells on the CLK-GTR. I"ve seen ones based on NASCAR stock cars though.
I'm going to have to add more timestamps later, I'm about to go to work.
EDIT: and they're here, enjoy!
I see GTR/LM I click👍
Yeah, I'm kind of obsessed with this series of cars too, to the extent that I now know how to tell them apart.
ah, i see you're a man of culture as well
PGR4,FM3/4 & FM1 got the GTR sound right, as for the LM, the Project Car Series, AMS & GT7 got it.
FM1 is the only FM installment that features the racing version of CLK GTR, others use "straßenversion".
Yup! Don't know why they stopped using the race car version tbh.
It's weird that no video game past and present ever had the CLK GTR/LM's succesor, the CLR, until GT2 Project A-Spec, but that one's a mod.
The CLR is also available as a mod in Assetto Corsa.
@@RandomCarGuy17 It's like the AAA game devs only know about the GTR/LM.
@@heavenlanes5598 Well either that or they just don't care for the successor car that decided to take off on LeMans at 1999.
@@RandomCarGuy17 At least I like all three of them equally lol

The first GTR race car version with the big black wing is where its at! The others didn't captivate as much as that did!
Nah, the street version are cool too.

FM6 and FH3 by far had the best sound for the GTR Street, GT4 for the GTR Race and Automobilista 2 for the LM if you ask me.
@@Mr.Goldbar Gran Turismo 4 has the LM to note. Not the GTR, it was listed as a GTR by mistake.
@@RandomCarGuy17 their problem, they made it turn into a GTR XD
@@Mr.Goldbar Just in name only, the model is still the LM. :)
@@RandomCarGuy17 too late :D
I believe I can fly
Wrong model, the Mercedes who flight was the CLR, not the CLK.
