    Thank you for making a simple video to show what to do for someone until you can get them to the ER, The doctor or wherever so the patient does not do more damage by using the arm. It’s easy to learn in a classroom without someone playing injured. The best place to learn is in the field on patients who of course are not in a life threatening situation because it will also help you judge the level of pain and help with swelling.
    CPR should be required in every school and then updated. My mother would not be here today if I had not learned CPR. The Ambulance crew, the doctor and nurses in the ER and the surgeon all told me that if I had not started it while calling 911 and waiting for them to arrive, she would not have needed to ambulance at all! If you have people you love and want to keep around.... learn it! It’s the best thing you can ever do.

    Excellent video, an elevated sling is the one I am unsure of and this explains it very well. One minor gripe, the presenter says to use a reef knot, and then proceeds to tie a much inferior granny knot.

      is a granny knot a dead knot??
      i dont know but the reef knot is similar (or the same idk) as a dead knot. its just how you untie it

    Which one for shoulder sprain?

    • @stjohnambulanceorg
      @stjohnambulanceorg  6 лет назад +5

      Hi there. In some cases, a sling may not be required - they are only used temporarily for relief of pain/to rest the joint. We would suggest following the advice of any Health Professionals you have seen so far - otherwise which ever sling makes the joint more comfortable. With some shoulder injuries, some people find that a sling which enables the fingers of the injured side to touch the opposite shoulder, can allow the shoulder to fall into a more natural position and thus provide more comfort and support. Hope that helps!

  • @axelblazeXD

    And you don't ask the casualty if the armsling is comfortable or need to be raised???
