So is there some way this will actually work? Cuz when I did everything that this and the comments suggested, it would leave big picture to open Minecraft and then the remote stopped. Only the MacBook mouse and keyboard would work
Yo I’m using an Xbox controller on a Mac and I get to the part where u click play but my Minecraft doesn’t automatically start like yours does. It brings up the Minecraft website and I have to click play with my computer and it doesn’t let me use my controller. I've set everything up in stream and I can use my Nintendo switch pro controller in big picture mode, no problem but once I open minecraft, I can't use my controller in the launcher or in the game. Video was only a bit helpful. It sucks how quickly videos can become outdated when Steam/Games update on the regular. My controller works for Big Picture Steam, but not for when I launch Minecraft on my Mac. (06.15.23)

I'm on an m1 mac and having the same prob. controller works perfectly until the game launches. i have done some research and it looks like it's an m1 specific problem and has been known by steam for months but has not yet been fixed. some people have had some luck by using the controller wired but this only works on games that have native controller support anyway. so this doesn't work on Minecraft.
Try this method: From 2:35, You should click the Detected Controllers below and Register. Click Submit, and wait until the Register button changes to Preferences. After 3:35(apply configuration), click Export Config and Save. Go back and go to Settings - Base Configurations - Desktop configuration Browse Configs - choose the config you saved - Apply configuration. After everything, go to library and play minecraft. I hope this helps :)

@@efren2751 also if you didn’t know this video is a joke just plugging in your remote doesn’t work and adding Minecraft launcher to steam doesn’t work because your only adding the launcher not the game and Minecraft is not a compatible game program to add to steam
Bluetooth doesn't work for PS4. You need to get an adapter and directly connect the controller and on the launcher launch it with a mouse. What I can't find is a config that works in-game
idk sorry im not actually helping but i will say it did work for me but it worked REALLY weird like maybe its cuz the preset i chose idk like the mouse moved as i moved my controller like as i was aiming to it so the mouse definitely moved but i mightve just chose the wrong preset
Please do this with an actual Xbox controller and the newest version of the Mac iOS. Of course it works with your Microsoft controller on a PC. Let me know when you have that video up.
Have it connected through steam and BPM works fine in steam but when I launch it doesn't work unless I hold the PS button the whole time, any thoughts?

THX for tutorial, I was able to play java Mincraft with my Xbox 360 controller with no problem. Had to import controller settings and there were already sets of keybinds

I have a problem When I connect my Xbox controller on a Mac, the Mac gives a certain configuration (A button as left click, b for right click and other things), so when on Steam I create my own settings and then enter to Minecraft, the controller stars working with the Mac’s configuration and not with mine.
Can't get it to fully work. I'm on a mac and I got it working fine in steam but once in the game all I can do is look around, go up and down, and build/destroy blocks. No ability to move around, access inventory, etc.. it will also crash occasionally. tried different configurations and still nothing. Anyone else?

you have to go to program files by going to this pc>C:>ProgramFiles>MinecraftLauncher>MinecraftLauncher,exe and select it if its not in program files go to program files (x86)
@@kaennacushman360 Its also not that worth it because if you need to pvp or parkour its definitely harder on a ps4 controller that hit button is the same as the most used shoot button in ps4 shooter games so its made to be slow so you will have >1 cps and very bad pvp and weird mouse sensitivity

But when I close steam, the launcher is open but then the controller isn’t working for it, because it’s not on steam. Almost like the launcher isn’t working with steam but on its own?
worked with this for about 2 hours and i just realized, with the inventory controls, there is no possible way to get everything the same with PS4 or Xbox one, you have to go a round about way, said to say but i think he knew this after posting
IF YOURE HERE AFTER THE NEW INTERFACE LISTEN. Complete all the steps up until the controller configs. Instead go straight to the “non steam games” and when you click on Minecraft you will see a controller icon on the right side. Click that. There you go.
@@paristorc1069 I’ve had every version of minecraft released in the last 8 years, plus I got it in alpha or beta that part I don’t remember, but either way, Java is still the only edition that is good anymore.

All my mates have Java and I had bedrock but I can’t stand pc controls so this helped a lot when I was forced to by Java
