Panzerkampfwagen / Panzer IV Ausf. G mit langer 7,5-cm-Kanone (Sd.Kfz. 161/1) in Aktion (Stahl auf der Heide 2014). // German Medium Tank Panzer IV (Wehrmacht) in Action.
The Panzer IV is my favorite WWII tank in terms of aesthetics. The German tanks certainly have their charm over the Allied ones!
My favorite is the Tiger 1 and the Maus
@@pewdiepie598 they weren't that effective tho , beautiful tank nonetheless
yes the panzer IV was the best of the war, as in being the most reliable.
Panzer iv looks kinda cute but T-34 85 are badass
pz4 is good when it knocked down, with roasted fascists inside

the panther for me followed closely in second by the tiger and then draw a between the panzer IV and stug III
They Looks Perfect in Size
Love the engine sound. Nice and crisp 👌
The most underrated German tank in WW2
What? No! Panzer iv is like the sherman for wermacht all ausf versions, The only difference is germany have not bellic supplies to build these complex machines. Germany always preferrer quality over quantity
Beautiful tank
Wonder how the heck you find spare parts for a 80 year old engine? :D
you don't. xD
They actually have to build them.

@lonedive kalt mean cold?
@@maksmoszczynski6043 Yes. But ´´cold´´ isn`t still possible since Greta woke up.
I know most prefer the Tiger 1 or 2 or the Panther but I liked the Panzer IV the best of all German WW2 tanks. Especially the ones with the long-barrelled 75mm guns. I was the German equivalence of the M4 Sherman or the T-34 in that it was a good, reliable, general purpose tank.
I've always preferred the Panzer IV over the later Big Cats, as they were simply exceptional vehicles. Highly advanced in many ways, simple to construct, were made of high quality materials and manufacturing standards (in early war at least) and were more than adequate to take on anything the Allies could throw at them, and remained exceptionally capable decades after the war. ^.-.^
If Germany had dropped the desire to build bigger more resource intensive Tsnks, and instead focused on Panzer IVs and Stug IIIs, they could very easily out stripped Allied Armour capabilities.
@@Beuwen_The_Dragon well that might be an exaggeration saying that it was superior to most allied tanks, personally i'd say more or less equal to the sherman tank, though perhaps you could argue it could've lengthen the war or shorten it, really depends on how you see it. Though regardless Germany would've lost either way it just would've been a matter of time.
Fine tank. In many ways more practical than any other German tank of the period with its upgrded gun etc.
Bucket was pretty much an important apparatus in the struggle for the Fatherland. Lol.
Stahleimer IV
It has such a pronounced sound. I remember hearing a story about my grandpa thinking he was gonna be killed when he had to take cover in a house while there were tanks above and this reminded me of that. Like imagine not being able to see the tank but being able to hear it’s movements knowing that if it knows you’re there, it could just level the whole building. And that harsh mechanical sound reminds you that it’s literally a giant, unstoppable (by you) machine designed specifically to kill you
My favorite WWII tank.
This is probably my favorite german tank. (Even though I also love the Panzer V Panther and the Sturmgeschütz III ausf. F
German ww2 tanks will never lose the love that people have for then
People recognize Quality when we see it. ^.-.^
Poetry in motion, beautiful !!!
Wow I thought it would be a bit bigger and more intimidating. Then again, I’m used to seen modern tanks. No doubt at its time it was a beast.
One of the advantages of the Panzer IV was its relatively compact size compared to Allied fighting Tanks.
The simple Bogie suspension meant the tank could be lower to the ground and had far more interior space than most Allied tanks. And the Exceptionally strong Engine was so compact, that the tank was also shorter than comparable Allied vehicles, reducing the need for longer armoured hull.
Honestly, despite people's infatuation with Panthers and Tigers, or Allied Tanks, the Panzer IVs were one of the greatest general purpose tanks ever created, and were increadibly advanced for their time. ^.-.^
@@Beuwen_The_Dragon panzer III and iv changes the mecanized combat forever. They forced the allies to research better tanks. URSS, england and usa make a racing time to create better tanks to fight equal on panzers iv and tigers

Never realized the Panzer Iv's had Swastikas painted on the front of them. Until seeing the yellow paint over it.
It is in Afrika Korps Colors so it would have the Afrika Korps symbol under the yellow tape. There is a swastika on the palm tree of the emblem. Since it appears they are in Germany, it is illegal to display the swastika outside of a museum. They are a little touchy about those things.
@@timothyhouse1622 i wouldn't say a "little" touchy.

At least people don erased the wermacht iron cross. Even youtube have the iron cross in your videos
sehr schön. Danke für die Fortführung. Ein Stück Geschichte ist sehr gut erhalten..
what a beauty
German should have at least mass produce this and panther in ww2
Although they will eventually lose, it still make logical sense because the effectiveness of both tanks
EDIT: Looks like my opinion is wrong because i did not put the german economy in the consideration. They cannot mass produce tanks like America because their industries were not as large as USA. and even though they can mass produce tanks, they still have a problem regarding OIL. Their synthetic oil and the imported oil from Romanian's Ploiesti Oilfield cannot produce as much oil as Texas alone
Yeah instead of focusing on tigers, they should've made more panthers with much stronger guns and ofc some more agile machines
The problem is Hitler kept wanting more different bigass tank with bigass guns , making it hard for them to find and make the spare parts , they should've just go with the Soviet plan and just mass produce like one type of tank (T-34)
How about more Stugs, you should focus on defensive tanks which aren't costly...
So you don't need to be mobile, only have firepower and Protection
@@-Pathos- German guns had a serious advantage over all allied guns ever built during the war. The 17 pounds was the best allied gun in penetration. Even the Soviet 85mm was way inferior in penetration, range, and accuracy compared to the German 75mm. Their steel was also very refined and higher quality than any others I think it was said that 10 mm of German steel had the same protection as 15mm of American steel or more of the Soviet steel.
The King tiger 8.8 cm Kwk 43L/71 could penetrate any allied tank at a distance that the enemy wouldn't be effective to hit back. The Soviet Union did capture some Panthers but damn they screwed up not reverse engineering the tank. They could have gotten some serious tech out if them.
@@bryanmartinez6600 I have no doubt in the German superior engineering , but logistically speaking their industry can't keep up with the demand for all these variant type of tanks , the tiger is great and all but it's heavy and often broke down , instead of repairing it they just burn it then abandoned it because they can't repair it .
Pz.4 is kinda cute and little when compare to the beasts of today's MBT
In 1939 this was considered massive. But if an M1 hit this it be like an F350 pick up hitting a Honda Civic.
By far my favourite German tank of WWII. I even think it looks better than the latest Leopards.
Very elegant design. Low with a wide track and very nimble. Just what an effective fighting machine should be.
True. The one big downside about it is the armour angling
@@NorthCascades the Panzer IV armour angles were actually not as prohibitive as people assume. Much of the Armour was indeed sloped where it counted, and the Quality of Armour used, at least in the prewar/ early-Mid War Panzers was considerably stronger than Allied Steel. It wasn't until post Mid/ Late War that armour quality decreased and required thicker armour, slowing the tanks down and making them easier targets. If Germany had focused on producing only Panzer IVs and Stug IIIs, the numbers and production would have been more than adequate, and not strained German Manufacturing and Logistics so much.
Panzerkampfwagen 4 with ostketten is even better, looks like a baby tiger 1
awesome
my favourite world war 2 tank.
Smaller than expected
How 5 men can be contained in that can?
Tanks from WW2 are much smaller than some may think
People were shorter back then
Old comment I know..
But the Panzer IV was an Exceptional tank in its day. Its simple Leaf Spring Bogie suspension, while not the smoothest ride, allowed the tank to sit very low to the ground, and increased the interior space tremendously, where most other tanks would have as much as 1/4-1/3 of the interior space dedicated to suspension.
Ad to this the Engine was increadibly powerful for it's small size, and was short, allowing the tank to be much shorter in length than comparable Allied Tanks.
So while small, the Panzer IVs were more than a match for most Allied Armour, and were far more effective fighting vehicles than people give them credit.
Super!
Amazing
All German tanks had great designs. Low profile&powerful guns.American military copied them toward end of war.
beautiful tank

Who’s bright idea was to have all that beautiful equipment grind all that gravel into them tracks. Probably a hater .
Warum fährt der Kasten dauernd Kreis? Warum gibt es kein Informationen zur Ausstattungsvariante
I always wondered what is that thing at the back of the tower on these tanks.Pz III seem to have a very similar tower, but without it, and it seems to not be an integral part. Is it some sort of counterweight?
If you are referring to the 'box" at the back of the Turret, it is a Stowage compartment for the Tank Crew to store their kit and gear. Such as spare uniforms, boots, winter coats, spare canteens, rations, small arms ammo, personal effects, hygiene equipment, etc..
There often was not much space to keep personal effects and spare gear inside the tank, so the German Military co tracked for Aftermarket Stowage bins to be installed on subsequent vehicles and available for old ones. Which is why you can see many Panzer IIIs and IVs bot with the new box, and in their original configuration without. ^.-.^
@@Beuwen_The_Dragon Oh okay thanks! Also cute profile pic
This always caught my attention. Do not know why, beautiful., but tha Panther was the top one

Belle rénovation, pour ce panzer IV, dommage une fois de plus,(on peut le voir sur beaucoup de maquettes) que les chenilles soient montées à l'envers, le cramponnage est inversé.
hahaha
Correct me if I'm incorrect, but are those tracks on the wrong way round?
nope. All tank tracks have a ridge pattern on the outside to help traction in the dirt, and mud.
I believe they are indeed mounted backwards.
Why all Pz's IV run only on one gear stage and torture engine with high engine speed? I saw it in lot of videos on youtube...
With the KV 1 it was impossible to change gears while the tank was moving, so all traveling was done in 1st gear or reverse. This led to early burnout of engines on many occasions.
"impossible" you do know most crews that were in the Russian armored corps were trained a hour or less right? and sent from the factory to the battle? if not then that's why. the crews that had been around for some time had no trouble. little extra effort compared to other tanks but its not anywhere near "impossible"
My last name is Stahl. It means Steel.
Evidently, Stahl is more well known as a European word than a family name.

Imagine if they would've had the 75mm L48 gun in 1941.
The model in the video has that gun, the earlier one you might be talking about is the one that may have been on the F2 model, the L43 gun
@@BizonthePhoenix86 on video is a L48 gun. You can see the double muzzle brake on the main gun, the L43 only have one.
Replying a 1 year later lol
Because that was old tanks (where are you from ?(me germany)
It's interesting to look at Pz IV and try to imagine Allied troops being attacked by them, and mistaking it "for a Tiger". I guess with all the people screaming, roaring engines and machinegunning, explosions, dust and half seen vehicles, plus hanging extra gear and cammo bushes off the turret, it's an understandable error.
People probably just saw the stair step front hull and didn't wait to verify! I wouldn't have.
why all panzer tank exhaust pipe smoke too much?
imagine trying to run your Chevy Silverado after sitting around for 70 years. it's quite impossible to get good efficiency on that shit. xD
I watched a old is3 started in Ukraine. sitting in a museum from 1952 till then. never moved. started first shot. (at least that they showed) took a while but it was done.
dillan mcdaniel and It smoked like hell
Remember most of these old lasses are very old War relics, most of which were run till they ran out of spare parts, or were restored from damaged conditions.
Brand new or property maintenanced a Panzer IV wouldn't be smoking like that. This gal has a leak somewhere between the engine and the Large Muffler on the back.
Được lắm hay.
I can imagine this badboy has gone trougth
Mit einen ordentlichen Dieselmotor wäre der Panzer sehr viel agiler, kräftiger, schneller, haltbarer und Soundtechnisch attraktiver gewesen.

T34 better slopped armor
Panzer 4 had the better gun
I have both
While the T34 had more severe sloped armour, the Panzer IV also had quite adequate Sloped Armour at the Bow, and the armour quality was such that it was just as capable as the heavier thicker sloped Soviet steel.
Dinae discount the IV's armour just because it isn't as wedged as the T34.
