Overloon is a fantastic WWII museum. Located at one of the most fierce tank battle sites in the Netherlands.
Many of the vehicles were left where they stood after the battle and carefully restored over the years.
Excellent presentation. Thank you from Australia

I remember the 1989 military parade in Berlin on the 40th anniversary of the GDR. As a tiny little boy, I was totally fascinated by the huge, noisy machines. I can still remember how the ground vibrated as the tanks drove past. Danke für die schönen Bilder vom Millitrack 24.

And-our side somehow got by with just Jeeps, M4 half tracks, Stewarts, Shermans, some tank destroyers and a couple other vehicles. You have to feel for the German repair units, all those spare parts to source or scrounge. These vehicles sound really, really well maintained, thanks!

It's extremely rare to see a Hetzer with an aircraft gun on it. Usually, you see the Tank Destroyer version. You should do a show on it. Italeri for Bolt Action makes the only model kit I saw with that feature. So, it's nice to see the real thing as well.👍🙂

All these ultra-clever trucks with tracks, and they SRILL relied heavily on horses. My Uncle Micky, in Normandy on D-Day, although some fifty miles inland, kept looking for the horses - 'I knew that we had lost the war' he said to me once, 'when I saw the way that the allies had motor-vehicles beyond counting. If one went wrong, they pushed it aside and got another one - just like that!'

Also plan to spend a few hours at the Overloon War Museum (where Militracks is hosted); they have an impressive collection of all manner of WW2 tanks, boats and planes, both Allied and Axis. Highly recommended!

ну думаю, що в плані підвіски і двигунів воно доволі уніфіковане, як і в плані електроніки і освітлювальних приладів. А паливо було - бензин. Їх багато, але думаю там не надто все складно

this is a greeat display to show how much better half tracks are versus wheeled trucks... the mud was a perfect way to show this. i wish they did this in the usa... all they do here is paint the tanks... at least in ft benning they are now inside... i remember visting ft benning years ago and their tanks were just in a line outside in a fenced area the king tiger had a tarp over it.. and in MD they were just rotting outside for decades

  • @Stray03

Although it sucks that it was rainy for the spectators, it must have been fun to see how controllable they all were in the mud. those trucks/wheeled vehicles were doing pretty well.

Starting at about 04:58 in this video:
FWIW, I first saw a _"Scheuch Schlepper"_ a couple of years back in a video here on YT. Might have been been here on Sofi's Channel.
I tend to go for 'unique' vehicles, including three-wheelers, and THAT THING sure qualifies...😊
I also realized as i was posting this comment the name includes the Yiddish word _"Schlep."_

I was wondering if a _Kubelwagen_ with 2WD would be light enough to handle all that loose soil.
The _KdF-Wagen_ at about 09:26 and the _Volkswagen Schwimmwagen_ at about 12:09 [which may be 4WD?] answered my question...😊
