as a holdover from the days when team damage was still in the game - if you "damage" a friendly, you lose the high caliber medal. there was 1 shot where he would have "damaged" a friendly - when the IS-4 drove in front of him.

Funny that he lost high caliber medal because is4 drove in front of him and robbed him of 700 dmg. Something feels very wrong here

High Caliber · Player must cause at least 1,000 HP damage and at least 20% of the total HP of enemy vehicles. · Player must not hit any allies with direct shots. That last one was the couse.

A really dumb rule ever since team damage was was removed. Back when team damage was a thing, it made sense, but not anymore.
Kudos to the Foch driver who really made the winning move, and the other teammates who made his play worth it.
Makes for a big change that his remaining team supported his play and backed him up, rather than just sat around and watch the enemy team shoot his face off and kill him. I mean he did lose a big chunk of his HPs but that was down to the enemy TDs he was spotting and damaging, than his team just abandoning him.

That play by the Foch made the battle, without that it's a draw or loss...
Plays like that are never rewarded...thats probably why almost nobody does them when its needed

@@fendelphi except it didnt get rewarded. Did u see how much xp he got at the end? And u can bet that he lost a lot of credits on repairs.
@@SmallPotato2313 He did get several extra shots, rather than just dying. Getting extra shots, surviving and winning probably scored him much more than a potential draw or even loss.
@@fendelphi i think he would be able to score those potential several shots even without his aggressive push. But that would require 60tp player to do this push instead somehow so yes he was risking lose or draw on the other hand he was risking dying to 2 shots from those japanese tds and not getting any shots soo. This time it worked, but play like this even tho its very good for your team, can be very risky and not paying off

Nah, that was after OP receiving a shot of the Ho-Ri and after driving over him (which also damages yourself)
His high caliber got invalidated because of the IS-4, remember he was going for a shot for the Super Conqueror crossing the river when the IS-4 poked out at the exact moment he took the shot. You lose out on the medal if you've shot an ally, whether intentional or not, at some point in the battle.

The fact that this tank is being played as a medium proves that there is no point in playing heavies any more due to the proliferation of premium ammo.

Actually, Jingles, if you shoot one of your teammates (and he did, IS4), you're not entitled to get High Caliber...I'll see myself out.

Hi Jingles, I think he didn't get top gun, because he hit his own IS-4 at the beginning of the game. You only get top gun, if you don't hit teammates.
Looks like this IS-4 was really annoying in more than one way. ;-)

I think he didnt get the high caliber because he shoot the IS-4 what couts as teamdamage even if it doesnt exist anymore
Nothing worse than utterly dominating the map and then losing in the end because WG provided a bunch of campers on the enemy team with way too many bushes to hide in at their base. Didn't take much for this game to be exactly that type of situation, which I am sure we have all experienced far too many times.
It would have been an easy win through and through if the LT had done its job.

I went back and watched the EBR incident again... Our hero should have got an assist.. he was backing up, forcing the EBR to go to the left of him... Which made the EBR ricochet off the wall on the left, then plough himself into the IS-4 due to lack of reaction time caused by the high velocity at which he was travelling... EBR player should take up billiards, it was such a beautifully lined up canon off the side wall 😂😂😂

Shooting an Ally still disqualifies you from getting the High Caliber medal despite not doing any damage.

Super heavies as a spotter are great! Was grinding Vk 100 and got scout medal in Fjords :D... it is all down to keeping the 'W' down. And it wasn't even some suicidal play through the field there.

Don't doubt big things spotting. In my Grosser Kurfurst I did 130,000 spotting damage so don't doubt the ability to spot while running for your life
