      How weird, I’m due 30th January with a little boy too!😍💙 not sure if you’ve already had your little one yet but only thing I’d suggest is maybe to pack a bag with extra things for both you, baby and your partner and keeping it in the car so if you need to stay longer or anything your partner can literally just run to the car and grab it! Good luck mumma 💙

    Doing research & stumbled upon your channel 🥰
    It’s totally your choice lovely & The water wipes are fab I used those with baby #3 Cotton wool balls are a nightmare I used wool pads & water for the first day/couple of days as baby was sensitive and you never know what their skin will be like. I ziplock bagged everything too 😆 the hat is beautiful ❤️my hospital was really cold I didn’t expect it to be and we had to stay over night so always an extra blanket is a good idea 🥰 bless you you do you honey ❤️ your the mama and it’s your baby. it’s so hard people want to tell you everything what to do. & scare stories. Definitely lucozade and snacks because women are ravenous after giving birth. Drinking lots of water during labour is the best way to dilute your pee for after it was the best tip I was given ive give birth 3x and always torn (we have big babies) and I had NO STING when I had my first pee sorry tmi! Yes the cup 🙌🏼 thats so cute and necessary deffo a fab idea and make it hubby’s job to keep refilling it also helps keep you cool & calm and prevents the hormonal headaches after too. I have to do a video on birth tips I trained as a birthing doula years ago have gave birth 3x so I have so many tips that could help people . I just took asda 2pack nighties & wore leggings underneath in the day if I was cold. There was such a draft in our hospital. Feel free to message me privately if you need anything lovely ❤️ oh and a nail file! Labour can be quite hands on and when you brake a nail then have a tiny newborn to handle you don’t want to scratch or catch them. It was a life saver to me! Wishing you all the best beautiful. Buzz is one lucky boy ❤️

    Super helpful video!! I’ve packed my bags but always feel like I have forgotten something :) I’m due 30th January too! Hoping little girl stays in for the next week with all the snow we have right now!
    Only thing we have in baby bag extra is a swaddle wrap just incase we stay in a few days and she is fussy! Though I know the hospital will wrap the little one in a blanket :)
    Don’t forget phone charger!
    I think I will feel more comfortable with pjs rather than a nightie so I’m taking loose pjs and a breast feeding vest.. then I can lift the top up whilst I’m feeding.
    Good luck!! :) x

    Fed is best, don’t stress yourself about it. Also bring a reusable shopping bag. You’ve packed pretty tightly and when you leave the hospital you will be too tired to pack back up that nicely. The bag will carry the stuff you can’t get back in the bags. Also I’m in the US and here the hospitals provide all diapers, wipes and receiving blankets, so packing for me was a little lighter. Congratulations, wishing you a quick and healthy birth of your baby boy!!!

      That is SUCH a good idea, I’m going to go and pop one in my bag right now thank you so much!!!
      Ah I don’t think our hospitals provide these things but I will be discussing my birthing plan etc from today with my midwife so hopefully she can advise :)
      Thank you so much again for watching & taking the time to leave a comment with such helpful advice! 💛

    Don’t put pressure on yourself to breastfeed, it’s a hormonal thing some people can some can’t. I had my first baby on Christmas Day, and did want to breast feed but it didn’t work out that way, I now bottle feed and I feel so much better as ultimately fed is best! :) my hospital only allowed pre made formula, so deffo look for the made up ones with sterilised teats - I was in for 5 days and without my husband it made life a lot easier. I used aptimal, Tesco & Morrison’s definitely stock them as well as boots. I can send you a link via Instagram if you can’t find them in shops. I’m a first time mum like yourself, with a 9 day old so if you want any reassurance or any info regarding hospital then let me know I’m happy to share my experiences :)

      That’s exactly my thought process, I’m just trying to take it as it comes!
      I’m sorry you didn’t get your first preference but there are definitely lots of pros to bottle fed too! I like the idea of being able to see how much bub is getting each feed etc 💛
      Ah yes I’m definitely going to look in to the formula bottles with teats then thank you!
      Aw thank you so much & congratulations again, what an amazing time for you. Look after yourself lovely 💛💛💛💛

      @@ShannanLorraine 100% the main advantage of bottle feeding is seeing how much little one has, as I found the midwives will want to know how much & how often!

    Breast feeding is your choice but yes it the best thing for your baby’s growth. But totally up to you. Your body will go back in shape faster, you’ll lose weight faster and your recovery after birth will help too. The most important will protect your baby for their first 2 year development which is really vital but you have to feed for 2 whole years if you want them to be protected from viral cold. But totally your body and your choice 😘😊

    • @ShannanLorraine
      @ShannanLorraine  3 года назад +2

      Hi,
      I appreciate you may be trying to help but I don’t think these kind of comments are helpful at all.
      Fed is best, you never know what someone is going through or how upsetting your comment could be to someone who desperately wanted to breast feed but was unable. Even if someone was able but has made the choice to bottle feed, there are pros and cons to both and that is entirely down to the mother what choice is best for them.

      @ShannanLorraine  3 года назад

      Hiya,
      Congratulations!! I’m still very much learning myself but from what I’ve read/watched, it seems like snowsuits are fab for keeping them warm in prams etc but not in a car seat as I think it stops the safety harness from doing the job as well as it should.
      That’s just my understanding but hope it helps :) x
