    I ended up caring for a boy when his Mom became hospitalized and eventually was in a coma for a long time (she’s alive and doing ok now). Anyhow those months were a Challenges since he had a lot of issues but it felt great to be there for him to be there for him and give him more than what he was accustomed too.
    Years later my husband and I have now decided to be Care aids where the client lives with us. They will be a child or an adult but we are looking forward to the new family member.
    Love the way you transitioned him to the other home.
    Enjoyed this vid and nice to find you through YTM’s.

    Fostering parenting is so hard. My uncle did it for a time, and it was amazing to give them a loving and safe family, but was sad when it was time for them to go.
    Thank you for talking about this topic. It’s super important and I agree needs so much work. That child was so blessed to have his time with your family. You’re a wonderful person ❤️

    Many blessings to you for opening your home and for spreading the word about the foster care system. The deserve just as much love as any other child.

      Thanks Sheila :) ...yeah, the foster care system is a mess and so many foster kids are really taken advantage of. It’s a major goal of mine to see the system, at least on a local level, totally overhauled.

    This was a wonderful video with a great message. You are right, the system is flawed but many can make a huge difference. These children need a home and lots of love.

    Me and my husband was just talking about how most foster parents are just in it for the money, he was in foster care as a child so he has experienced it. So glad to see the other side of this.

      So sorry to hear he was in foster care, and that his foster family was less than loving. We definitely never expected to be foster parents, but I guess that’s the key to everything - when you don’t NEED to give, you do it with more love and a smile. 🥰

    My husband and I are in a process/battle with his 12 year old cousin. Her home life is not so great. We have no idea where to start but we would love to foster her.

    • @BryceGruberHermon
      @BryceGruberHermon  4 года назад +1

      So sorry to hear! Is she already in foster care? If so, i think the best bet is probably going straight to the specific agency handling her case and request a family home placement. Start doing the paperwork now to become an approved foster home + take the coursework so they can’t say you’re unqualified.

    I'm old-fashioned I think and I believe your maternal or paternal natural instinct kicks into gear and you would know what they need and how to love them that shouldn't have to be taught. If you have to practice how to love somebody you don't need to be fostering. Just my old-fashioned beliefs. But absolutely you should never be with a dollar sign in mind first. Classes I think are needed for just how to deal with their trauma correctly that's all.

      Wow you’re grandma sounds amazing! Yes, all the kids in foster care deserve so much love - maybe extra - childhood isn’t easy without stability and loving adults.

    You are so incredibly strong! I dont think I could ever do what you do. I get so attached to children so fast that i dont think i could ever let them go. I just broke up with my partner and he had 2 little girls who I loved and looked after for 3 years and now I cant even begin to describe the pain I feel know that I will bearly get to see them now.

    How do you ask to see children in Foster Homes? It seems that the govt system do not show their faces on Video. It will be easier if they do?
