I commend HP for having the eh... fortitude to put out a product like this. It's good for companies to put out quirky fun products every once in awhile. In 20 years people will be snapping these up as collectibles on eBay and making RUclips videos about them.

Someone needs to build one of these for $99.95..... because that thing looks like it should cost like 80 to 100 bucks...

It’s a niche product due to picture quality, media, and cost.

I see a use for one of these but at at the same time, I don't see people actually using one in the intended scenarios. These could be used by event planners for weddings, birthdays etc but I don't see anyone actually using one. There is a reason we don't see photo booths at malls and other public spaces any more, they just died out because people are using their phone. There is a reason that physical photos for the most part died out. People don't want a physical photo, even as an event item.

I’m pretty sure this will become the main product on the market and replace the iPhone and take HP over Apple’s stock price

I can’t agree. Photos are too small and most people prefer to store digitally than on paper. This is a niche product due to picture quality, media, and photo cost.

@ wrong. This is huge. Anything sprocket will remind certain persons of The Jetsons and Spacely Sprockets Plus.

I wonder if you can rent these? I just can not imagine owning one. If someone has a rental business, this could be a good product to make available for weddings, events, parties.... (edit) I just noticed that you mentioned that as a possibility in your review conclusion

A little surprised at the price, but I could see this working for events. A pity to about the camera quality.

Maybe for $399 I'd get it or if they took back some of these other sprocket printers I bought as a trade-in to offset the cost.

Yeah I seem to remember them quoting a lower price on this at CES last year.

Like you said it’s the best price in the market because now you have a sprocket product like Spacely products or space sprockets rather no rather space Lee sprockets

All that and the put a garbage camera on it? That camera is insanely bad, on par with the cheapest web cams. That's a huge let down. They have smartphone selfie cameras on lower end phones that look better than that.

Sounds like it's something George Jetson would sell, a very niche product

This is hilarious. This would have been a failed product in 1998. HP as a company should have been bankrupt 20 years ago.

If it was also a karaoke machine with a selfie camera, you could really embarrass yourself..
