    I love how both these ladies are quite charismatic and charming....but even without knowing their stories, you can definitely feel something's...off...about them.

      I like Medea is presented as the "curse" side of witchcraft(thus more gloomy attire) while Circe is presented the modifying/shapeshift of witchcraft in a way.

    Medea AKA The Queen of Vengeance. Honestly I think in Hades 2 she’s much happier I mean cursing her ex husband Jason, murdering her two children, and going into hiding after murdering A LOT of people for Jason can really warp the mindset. But at least she’s living it up while Jason meanwhile is currently crushed by his old boat.

    • @Generalsiris
      @Generalsiris 4 месяца назад +1

      Wait why she murder her own children?

    • @tiffanychan9627

      @@Generalsiris Depends on interpretations of the source material or other versions of Medea's story.
      1) For Jason choosing to marry a different princess to strengthen political ties following exile from his Uncle's kingdom. (Medea herself is a princess, albeit formerly, of Colchis, her father, King Aeetes was a ruler obsessed with maintaining his power. Jason arrives on her island with his crew of Argonauts to take the Golden Fleece for his quest. Medea chooses to help Jason via her magic/poultices and other skills to complete impossible tasks and steal the Fleece. )
      2) To spare her children's suffering, they would be viewed negatively by ancient Greek standards as 'bastard children' and not treated as remotely human or even suffer under Medea's own acts of retaliation against Jason following his 'marriage'.
      3) Free herself from the burden of raising children, she would most likely not be able to live a life that could support her and two children, and Jason would not support her because of his new marriage arrangement.
      I don't know how much of the source material for Medea would play out in Hades. Supergiant Games (the creators of Hades and Hades II, among other games) had added their own twist to various characters. For example, Hera, Demeter, and Hestia in the source material are sisters to not only each other but also Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades, but Supergiant Games made the three goddesses daughters of a different pair of titans (i.e. Not 'genetically' related to Chronos, siblings of Helios).

      Probably because, depending on the wikipedia page anyway, Hera seems to like her. Which is, uh, a little weird.

    • @tiffanychan9627
      @tiffanychan9627 4 месяца назад +5

      @@CamelofDestiny Or at least Hera saw that Jason would fail in getting the fleece without Medea's help. One of the tasks Aeetes gives to Jason is to plow the fields with fire-breathing bulls and sow it with drakon's teeth. Jason is a mortal man. He was trained by Chiron much like Achilles and Patroculos, but had no renown (outside of one involving Hera), known by his strength or any divine heritage to claim.
      Also I read in a Rick Riordan version (i.e. Percy retelling the story of the original Jason and the Argonauts) that Hera had asked Aphrodite to influence Medea's feelings to fall in love with Jason so she would help him.

    • @Michael-bb1cw
      @Michael-bb1cw 4 месяца назад +23

      @@CamelofDestiny It's more that Hera REALLY hates Jason. Jason was previously favored by Hera for both helping her cross a river when she was disguised as an old woman and also for not being the result of Zeus cheating on her. But remember, Hera is the goddess of marriage. So when Jason broke his marriage vows to Medea, he promptly lost Hera's favor, and much more dangerously, gained her ire. In fact, Jason is probably one of the few people who is mutually hated by Zeus AND Hera. Which is not a good position to be in.

      I think it is in a way a nice contrast, especially to their version of Medea. And showcase a diversity in witches. I also like the crescent moon details all the witches share. Melinoe with her circlet/laurel crown, Medea with her neckwear/jewelry, Circe with the pattern on her skirt and some jewelry, and Hecate in her hat and even her torches.

      then Circe would also be Mel's great aunt since she is a daughter of Helios
      also when was it confirmed that the main three sisters are daughters of Helios :0 ik Supergiant didn't want them to be blood related but that info seems to be pretty new, right?
