Here’s something I agree with Kyle on: break up the existing monopolies whether they be in big tech or manufacturing!
The main reason we have monopolies is favortism by the government(s) favoring huge corporations of which basically call the shots in state and federal governments by limiting their competion through laws and regulations. Examples include big pharma, industrial-military complex, media, big tech, medical technology and manufactiring.
When you hear government officials saying 'It's too big to fail' that is basically an endorsement of a monolpoly.
You mean break up the fed government?
@@Dan16673 Exactly! How about we start by dissolving the CIA. Since the creation of the CIA the United States has gotten involved with over 46 wars and conflicts that had nothing to do with protecting American sovereignty. 90% of our total national debt involved useless foreign wars that the CIA said we had to get involved with. CIA is nothing more than a tax waste and is an extension of the military industrial complex. Example Iraq and Afghanistan. $7 trillion dollars wasted there.

@Angelo Balbi good point
@Angelo Balbi not that serious
It was difficult
My perception as a foreigner about what's crumbling America:
1) The absurdly expensive healthcare system and millions of Americans who cannot afford proper medical care. The right to healthcare is equivalent to the right to life and cannot be conditioned by the profit of companies. You don't put profit over people's lives.
2) American companies have preferred to outsource jobs in search of cheaper labor and have found everything they wanted in China. You're naive if you think capitalism has anything in common with patriotism or belonging to a particular country. These companies could just as easily work in North Korea if there was an opportunity. China demonstrates that capitalism is not conditioned by the existence of democracy.
3) There is no longer a middle class, no longer liquid assets. All Americans have now are debts upon debts. There is an extremely high pressure on families who find that raising a child has become a luxury, a whim.
4) The public education system is a joke . I always hear about how parents should give up on it! If an institution is inefficient, it needs to be reformed, not dismantled.
5) The government prioritizes the interests of the extremely wealthy over those of ordinary people. The elected officials should represent the interests of the population, and if not, their role is wrong and needs to be reformed, not abolished!
6) Tax the hell out of the extremely wealthy and use the money for education and healthcare. In schools, future employees are educated and trained, and if they have any problems, they are treated in hospitals, not in company offices!
Worked with a guy who immigrated from Egypt, up until he moved here he was convinced (based on hearsay and media) that americans all lived in big houses and had 2 cars and no one was hungry. Of course people want to move to America, they believe the American dream is still alive.
As I was growing up I remember my dream being to live in US, had plenty of friends who had same thoughts, we were kids at that time. Now I'm seeing more and more videos on yt pushed about homelessness, crime etc that it's a big problem in US. Don't get me wrong I would still love to visit it one day!
And yet, rarely leave.

@@gvozdeni9685 if it is still your dream to leave your home country, there are many western nations that have much lower levels of violent crime and homelessness/poverty. Canada and Scandinavian countries come to mind first.
The median income in Egypt is ~$7,000 per year compared to $31,000 in the United States. So an Egyptian can make 4.4x as much in America adjusted for purchasing parity.
there are various countries that have way higher migration and migration rates than the US including scandinavian countries like sweden and norway...switzerland for example has double the migrants and tripple the migration rate than the US
Tbf that could be based on geography but I see ur point
@@aidandoylepolitics Same for US, if Mexico would be on both the border Sweden and US, which would they pick to immigrate to? US is the only option for immigrants/refugees from Latin American countries
Latin America is to the States like Africa is to Europe. Countries like Sweden and Switzerland get that, and people from lower-income countries in Europe.
For example, Canada. Our immigration numbers are 500,000/year.
The question is if they could choose between Sweden/Switzerland/etc. and the US, which one would they choose? ;)
I'm Australian and I've spoken to lots of immigrants that had America as their first choice but couldnt get in and came to Australia instead but are so happy and relieved that they didn't go to America because of what a dumpster fire it is today.

If you're in Central or South America, it's much easier to try to get to America.
If you're in the Middle East or North Africa, it's easier to try to get to Europe.
And the multiple waves of Jewish and other European / Eastern European migrations all have their own historical contexts.
America also has a strong mythos, was founded by immigrants, and has a long history of inviting immigrants...
“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

Virtually Anyone that can moves here
That "mixed system" applies socialism and capitalism as it benefits those in power and maintains our current class system.
We get taxed heavily in Canada for universal healthcare. When you combine all the income tax, carbon tax, sales tax, and high property tax, we are close to 60-70% of our income gone in taxes. The wait times to see a specialist and get MRIs for example can be well over 6 months. We also have chronically over filled emergency rooms. I would say anything our government touches becomes a more expensive and inefficient money pit.
Anyone who argues for this "hybrid system" should at least live in it for a few years. It's not all rainbows and unicorns.
Nah i am good i will rather take these negatives and stay in EU, insted of flipping a coin being born poor in america being scared to call an ambulance for myself cause i might lose my house to medical dept. Such a situation being common in the most advanced country in the world is just shameful.
No system is perfect, everything has its pros and cons, but Canada is still one of the best countries in the world to live. It consistently ranks in the top 5 places in the world to live and was voted number 1 place to live in 2021.
Canada is better if you are lower income, while USA is better for middle or higher income.
We have a hybrid system in New Zealand. It's not perfect but it's pretty damned decent. I had a high grade tumour- identified, treated and removed quickly completely free.
@@1polasek12 EU is perfect for those who prefer mediocrity as long as they have all the basics provided for them. America is great for those who prefer to work hard and become far more financially successful than anyone else in the world. The reason leftists prefer the EU is because they lack the work ethic. This is not me attacking leftists but it's true. People in the EU have lower salaries, lower overall growth prospects in their field and lower desires. There is a reason most of the millionaires and billionaires in the world come from the U.S. and the EU hasn't innovated in decades. It's the same reason why the U.S. and China lead the world while Europe is a relic of the past.
Many immigrants come to USA for possibility of earning higher income than back home. To achieve that they live very frugal and save later either to go back to their home or stay.
It is a matter of perspective. A citizen can see each generations quality of life is decreasing year on year. If your dodging bullets in a dessert somewhere of course America is better.

No he just thinks things should be improved like all real Americans. It's a very 'American' thing to complain about this country and people are sort of idealist about what it should be. "We're America, we're better than that" type of thinking.

@@NeightrixPrime He's a political analyst not a politician. Also if he "avoids scrutiny" then why is he willing to debate all the big conservative names and yet they refuse to debate him.
As someone that was brought over from a young age. It’s because of jobs. If people could work here a few months then go back home they would do that. Some do but a lot stay to start their family here because they find a good job or they’re fleeing the crime in their home countries
Those are exactly the reasons they flee from their home. People act like they don't see it. 🌺
They can. They literally can leave whenever they want. But the jobs are better and you still have more rights in America than your home country. Btw most refugees who are fleeing to Europe don't work..
@@randysavage1 why shoudl they work for the oppressors who ruined the countries they're fleeing from?
@@randysavage1 not legally.
Yes, that's his point. Socialism doesn't create the kind of opportunities capitalism does. That's just a fact. They have to come HERE. Capitalism has given us every service under the sun, literally before ur born until after you die. People want to make a buck off ya. That's a hell of a motivator. If you ain't motivated by ur own self interest and well-being then there's not too much of a chance u'r going to be motivated by mine. Very few people care about doing something for the art of it, certainly not enough to run an economy, which has be proven time and time and time again.
And I tell you another reason why it fails. Because it requires authoritarianism. You HAVE to have a referee, which is a government with the authority to take what's not theirs and redistribute it. And we're not Gods with perfect knowledge. We're flawed human beings. And so you STILL end up with the haves and havenots. Only now they're party insiders and corrupt bureaucrats and politicians and whanot. People have literally sailed the ocean on inter tubes to get away from that nightmare just for the right to work toward their own well being and self interests. Whether you're a man, a monkey, or a mouse, we're born into a world where you're supposed to get busy and start hustling. That's just the natural order. And if you're lucky you can have socialism on a micro level. We call them families. And even they're often dysfunctional. No way socialism scales to hundreds of millions of people though.

Kind of a silly question. People are fleeing from worse off conditions. No one ever says USA is the worst country to live in. But the United States is worst out of the developed countries in many markers as Kyle touched on. I find it silly when people call other people communist when they criticize the governments failings.
If you think about it in analogy as a home. The parents being the government and the kids being the citizens. United States is an upper middle class family and the kids are complaining that the food and the pantry is unhealthy and the school they are going to is terrible. And then the parents turn around and say, if it's so terrible living here why do your cousins that live in low income housing want to come here then? Or just start calling them bad kids for not being grateful living in a upper middle class house. It really demoralizes the kids and the problem still exists that they have bad food and bad health.
Vietnam is the best
3:49 I'm German.. Kyle really understood the system here in favor of his point he was trying to make.
Yes, education, going to uni is (mostly) free. Also, "trade schools", or the german equivalent to them are also "free".
But this is paid by state taxes with the reason of "lets finance these students so they can pay more taxes when they make more income in the future".
Also, health care is not "free" as everyone thinks it is. When earning for example 60.000€ a year, you pay ~800€ a month for health care insurance which is not including any really expensive treatments e.g. cancer treatments and also teeth replacements.
Well, everybody knows that. But it's basically the same principle as insurance, you diversify the risk for health care and collateralize it. Also with the German healthcare system, they have huge bargaining power when it comes to drug prices for example. And that is the reason why socialized health care is better: It effectively is cheaper while providing the same outcome (or even better). Just look at insulin prices in the US vs countries with socialized health care like Canada, Germany, etc.
Also cancer treatments are included in German health care, teeth is another thing though. But if Germany would prohibit private health insurance and force everyone to pay into the public pot, this wouldn't be an issue. The problem with the German healthcare system is that there is an option to opt out and go private which makes sense once you reach a certain income threshold because not only is private cheaper then, it also provides you with better service, which is a huge problem in my opinion.
But Americans are spending more than that on average ($12.5k a year) with worse health outcomes.. and millions aren’t covered.
"Also, health care is not "free" as everyone thinks it is. When earning for example 60.000€ a year, you pay ~800€ a month for health care insurance which is not including any really expensive treatments e.g. cancer treatments and also teeth replacements."

It's definitely better to live in America than the majority of the countries in the world. Ppl migrate not because of a moral value judgement of the host country, but simply on whether they’re going to be able to survive and have a decent standard of life.
The Nazis had the most advanced country in the world at the time, and if they allowed immigrants, the entire world would have tried to pour in. That doesn’t mean they were morally good.
I guess we need to make a disambiguation between material good, and moral good.
They WERE morally good, that's why the had the most advanced country in the world. Taks a look at the state of Germany in 1917 BEFORE Adolf Hitler rose to power, jews made it a shithole.

Take good part of capitalism and socialism, and bend them togather to make the society better. This only sounds good, but it is impossible to do. You might say greed is bad, but the fact is greed is a part of the capitalism that drive you to challenge more and take more risks.

America is the best country to live in. If you rich 😂
People from this continent are not immigrants we are migrants our ancestors have been migrating up and down this continent before “America “ was “discovered”.
Get Jimmy Dore on next!!!!
YES!
Under God we trust, USA!!
Because of what they saw on the movies
As a son of immigrants, this country offers a lot of economic opportunity to an extent that even most other developed countries don’t. The culture here I believe is more open to people coming from other cultures, particularly in big cities. Also in alot of the developing countries where immigrants come from, there tends to be a belief that the US is some sort of perfect utopia, and many times while being in a better situation than back home, immigrants face some kind of disappointment in realizing this country isn’t perfect and like any other country has its pros and cons and challenges. All of these thing together I think make the US an attractive option for immigrants and refugees.
then why do most excel here when they arrive?
Because it's the best country on earth!! As a legal immigrant I worked my ass off to get here. I love everything this country stands for and the opportunity it gives to EVERYONE. People who hate it haven't seen what's outside
It is ONE of the best countries. YOU have lived here too long to understand HOW BAD it is around the world. I would be willing to BET that YOU are not aware that CANADIANS (your NEIGHBORS) are not allowed to cross the border right now
Excellent point! Just be mindful that millions of people fought and gave their life for freedom and justice so their families would also have the same fruits your are enjoying today.
One of the best. But this best boast tends to hide the problems that need fixing.
the brainwashing is strong with this one.
Its the greatest country with the highest concentration of people in prison and homeless.
The US is great but it is in decline. It's easy to say immigrants want to come here from nations in turmoil but how many immigrants from nations like the Scandinavian countries, Singapore, Australia, Switzerland, Austria, etc really want to move here. Sure, some are but the vast majority want to stay in their nations that offer a higher quality of life.
I moved to the USA 30 years ago and while I love many aspects of this nation, I am very aware of how things are going with the declining middle class. Too much corruption on all levels of government and in this country, if we are honest this is an oligarchy and not a democracy. The very few in the elites/corporations control everything. Our politicians are puppets and they are not there for the people.
well I mean just to play advocatus diaboli here - where I live america isn't number 1 choice because we're in the eu so from eastern europe -> germany is easier. Of course I won't do it 'cause I hate germany but that's another story..yet going to america when you travel over the sharks + visas it's a major issue. Plus: no one watches american football, reason no 1. Messi > dollar.
There being sold a bill of goods.
I find this phrasing so ridiculous and the question in general so idiotic its sad it's coming from the mouth of a man who I know to be so inquisitive and thoughtful. When an AMERICAN who only knows AMERICA criticizes his country, it's because he knows INHERENTLY its flaws and where it is lacking. Those who say 'this is terrible' or 'we should do something about this' or 'we should change this' have NEVER SAID 'God you know where things are much better? Haiti!' 😒 But just because it is 'not as bad' as North Korea it doesn't mean we don't have things to fix and it doesn't mean we should stop trying to fix it. This is not a school paper we're tired of redoing. This is a country, made up of laws and policy and legislation. Things that could materially change the lives of millions of people. It is worth tweaking and altering and changing and improving. 🤦🏽♂️

As Milton Friedman once said, you can’t have a welfare state and a open border state at the same time. To achieve this hybrid economic system that Kyle is advocating, illegal immigration needs to be cut to zero and legal immigration needs to be reduced dramatically.

We I came to this country young as well from the Middle East. When you come hungry and from a war zone. Being here is like putting a wolf with sheep. I had and and still have that immigrant mind set. I fear poverty. People don’t respect broke people. My father was a workaholic and loved America. He recently passed away and the last discussion he had was how much he loved this country and how much America provided for us. We didn’t sit on our asses. We worked
Yes...a lot of people work. Hazzah!
Social Democracy sounds a lot like Socialism.
The reason? Because if they are smart they work 10 years each under 2 stolen social security numbers (they buy these upon arriving in downtown Los Angeles), they then retire at 62.5 earning 2 or more social security checks. They move back below the border and live like kings. Even working a minimum wage job can net them multiple social security checks of $1200 per month. A 10 year doctor in Mexico earns $1300 per month. So if they retire earning multiple social security checks…. They can earn 3 or 4 times as much as a doctor down there. Pretty good incentive no? No wonder they work hard. Their end game has zero downside. Our sons would work a lot harder if they knew after working 30 years flipping burgers they would one day retire earning 4 times the doctor in your town. And that ladies and gentlemen is why they come here.
many Americans do not understand what country they live in and how many opportunities there are. while migrants are used to working for pennies in their countries, and when they come to the US, they get what they deserve for their work and enjoy other benefits of the country.
I have many acquaintances who have left for the USA and are very satisfied with their lives, they work well and receive rewards for this.
And an increasing percentage of immigrants aren’t working and are instead parasites who live off of the system in some way. We used to get the best and the brightest. Now we get the worst.
If you look at where the immigrants come from, they come from dirt poor countries! No one from europe, canada, Australia or Japan is storming the borders!

even if most people would agree with him, it is ONLY because they never lived through atrocities of communist/socialist government...... Kulinski knows fuck-all about what kinda mechanisms those governments operate on...... the most laughable premise is, that working class person would somehow own the "means of production" :D:D first, average person who works behind assembly line knows nothing about how to successfully run a company...... second, people who own these companies would literally rather BURN DOWN all of their property, than give it to poor peasants :D that's a complete "sci-fi" which never happened under ANY communist/socialist government in history :D
polls have been conducted on the matter. Believe it or not, most Americans are not in favor of being in crippling, medical or student debt..
