Nice one Davie. In some of my patterns when doubling thread for ribbing, I like to twist clockwise with Shepherd Hook to for tight rope, and then rib. Anyway, just an alternate idea. Thanks for another beautiful pattern.
Hello Davie, In this video you used Veevus 14/0 thread... mentioning it is thinner than UNI 8/0. You have also used Veevus 16/0 in a few videos. Would you say what you feel about these two Veevus threads, please? Do you find a difference, or much of a difference between the two, and between them and UNI 8/0 Thanks for your help, Davie... Mike
Morning Mike, It's been a while since I used Veevus thread though if I remember right the 16/0 and the 14/0 were finer than the uni 8/0 but the 10/0 was much the same as the uni-8/0...I liked the thread and would be happy to use it but I have used uni-thread for so long now in most of my flies so I am happy just using it.. All the very best Davie..
I am getting more and more intrigued by these CDC bubble flies. I have not tied any but will have to give them a try. Would you fish it like any other emerger? Any tips for presentation on rivers or still water?
Hi Richard, I prefer to fish it mostly as I would a single dry but I also like to fish it with another fly and this being on the dropper though putting in on the point and a wet or nymph on the dropper which will keep it dropper length below the surface...The good thing about this style of fly is that you can pull it below the surface if needed but as it traps a bubble of air it will pop straight back up... All the very best Davie..
Hi Dominique LeBlanc, It would be a perfect pattern for tying on a curved hook as well as the standard hook...I'm glad you like it as it is a good fly to have in your box in any colour.. All the very best Davie..
Please recognize that many tires are watching your wonderful tying in Tokyo in Japan. Of course I am one of them.
Lovely tying Davie as always going to tie some off these up thanks and happy tying

Thanks! That settles it. I am just going to have to get my hands on some CDC and tie a few of these up.
Nice fly
Nice pattern. Do you think it would also work on a curved hook?
