Hey Tim, seen many of your videos over the years, this is the best one yet. History, reason and how to fish it! Awesome job. Ed has created so many great patterns, glad your documenting and sharing them . Jesse
i dont mean to be offtopic but does anyone know a method to get back into an Instagram account? I was stupid forgot my password. I love any tricks you can give me!
@Seth Reginald thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Good one, I don't know about you but the flies that I tie have on average have gotten smaller and sparser over the years When I started back in 1963. I like quick simple patterns tied with common materials. Every drug store carries dental floss! I am going to have to get his book, to add to my collection.
Just tie a pheasant tail nymph or whatever pattern you like without the bead, then build a bubble using UV resin, looks more natural compared to a bead but both work well.
My guess is that the fly will hang vertically as almost all nymphs, both weighted and unweighted do. It's the weight of the bend of the hook that causes this. It kind of stinks to picture our beautifully tied nymphs floating down the stream in this orientation, but they do. That said, a Prince Nymph hangs vertically when fished and I can't imagine how many millions of trout that fly has fooled over the years.
@@tightlinevideo I was just wondering because I watched other videos of people tieing bead to the top of the hook to make a pattern ride like a jig style hook point up now they were using a tungsten bead but I would think this would have the same effect since it would put more weight on that side of the hook but I may be wrong I guess I will have to tie a few and try it out for my self thanks for the reply
Very well thought out concept

Alright Tim! Finally getting those prominent figures in fly fishing recorded for posterity! Great Job!!!
Ed Engle is the real deal. I've fished with him - he's extremely knowledgeable about flies and fly fishing.
So nice to hear from the creator of the pattern and how he fishes it. Love Ed.
Beautiful fly!

That's very cool. 👍
We got to see him at the Cincinnati fly show. He’s very good
Much respect for Ed Engle (own his book), but many better ways to tie the illusion of popping wings in this stage of emergence.
Very good!!
Tim it’s great to see you & Ed teaming up, how about one with AK?
Can someone get this rock off me? Who's Ed Engle?

You miss the point of tying Mr Creativity.
Any guideline on what bead for what hook size?
Can you tie the irresistible dry fly I'm realy struggling with it
Who's Ed Engle?
Can this be tied without the glass bead?
not second guessing here but wouldnt this make the fly ride in the water glass bead down or is that a plastic bead that add buoyancy

Is Eg Engle the British witch hunter & executioner?
I don't 😂 that's one of the neatest designed flys I've seen in a while the other best designed fly was the Antron Egg...
