    Nice classic nymph Barry! Bet that you couldn't go wrong with this generic pattern. Think that selection of these in sizes 16 to 10 (and even bigger) in typical colors (yellow, tan, brown, light and dark olive, grey and black) would cover 75% of the nymphs in most streams - turn over a couple of rocks, see what is moving and match up the size and color.     How should I tie in knotted pheasant tail legs to stop them twistng

      @@Thefeatherbender Because of the profile of the stems I find it difficult to get all the 6-8 knotted legs the lay in the same direction ie to lay in the same plane - all hanging below the hook. Some always twist stick out

      Hi David, the trout don't mind which way they stick out but they do look nicer when they are all neat and in the right direction. Use flat nose tweezers to flatten the ends of the legs before you tie them in. Good luck.
