      Could you ask Grant how would this compare to something like a Quadro card for neuralnet? I'm just curious how much of a gap their is and if the price of a Quadro would be worth it for the performance increases, if there are any.

    • @nyllhad
      @nyllhad 6 лет назад +2

      This was my dilemma last month when I was building my new rig. I went with the Titan XP because
      1. "Slightly better" is still better.
      2. 1080 ti's are now the same price as the Titans (as you stated) thanks to miners.
      3. Most places are just plumb out of 1080's AND 1070's and I didn't want to wait around with my other components collecting dust waiting for someone to stock the one I wanted.
      I'm glad I went with the Titan XP even after watching this video. Who knows when (or if) the 1080's are going to come down in price and it's nice to see people's eyebrows rise when I tell them I have a Titan XP.
      Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

    Calling it $200 per % point is a bit of a stretch. That is against an OC'd 1080ti. Clearly the TXp is not clocking that high stock as you have much higher results with it overclocked. That's the case because AIB 1080ti cards clock very close to max OC due to better cooling, boost 3.0, and higher out of the box boost clocks. This is also confirmed with your numbers. Looking at 3dmark timespy numbers, Titan Xp vs 1080ti, max oc vs max oc (not extreme cooling), the Titan Xp appears to be 10% faster at best.

    Good comparison, you sealed my decision over a 1-2% margin. Right now the GPU market is fucking ridiculous because of Cryptopcurrency mining and sellers such as Newegg are taking advantage like some greedy scumbags, so the 1080ti is actually cheaper than a Titan Xp right now. With that said, I'm about to order a Titan Xp because it's cheaper.

    Ok Honest question here. When did the Titan cards become a "deep learning card" and not the king of gaming cards?
    I am a content creator who could use 50gb of vram if left unchecked, so I take all the vram I can get. Now its virtually pointless to get a Titan X(p)orP over a 1080ti. 780ti 3b Titan 6gb (double), 980ti 6Gb Titan X 12GB (double) 1080Ti 11GB Titan X Pascals (both) 12GB Vram...
    I could justify it on the high end for my purposes for 24GB VRAM. Now don't call me an idiot for buying titan X's and wasting my money. Understand that Nvidia would have me buying $6000 Quadros. I consider a titan a steal in comparison.

    The Titan Xp is slightly better than the 1080 ti at gaming but it isn’t worth the price for gaming it is mainly for game development only get his if you are developing games and maybe if you like to play games then keep that one in since it’s great for both but better for development so DONT GET THIS FOR JUST GAMING, unless of course if your a millionaire and it doesn’t do anything to your wallet

      Midgards Fear sounds screwed up I can see refunds not being given past 30 days but no RMA support after that is stupid

    So if price is no concern, since the 1080 ti and Titan Xp are roughly the same price used these days, for overclocking on gaming, is the Titan Xp better? Can you overclock a Titan Xp with more headroom over a 1080 ti?

    Money no object, you'd have 2 of these under full water blocks.

      Would have 4 of them and an 8k monitor with single-mode fiber leased line.

    • @jondonnelly4831
      @jondonnelly4831 7 лет назад

      they dont sli too good beyond 2, sadly no longer supported. Some games work, some benchmarks work but its unstable as heck. 8k monitors have shit latency due to needing 2 x 1.4 displayport cables and signal has to be stiched together. 5k is a thing though.

    Gamers Nexus Can you clarify this please? Titan Xp, is there any benefit gained from the Xp over the 1080ti when editing 4k video?

    In order to overclock the Titan you need a dam watercooler unless you know how to apply and can find the correct heatsink probably not

      Not at all, my Titan XP's overclock +200mhz without extra cooling. They're loud as hell under full load though.

    And now months later with the launch of SWBF2 they are marketing the Xp as a gamers card again, with Jedi and Empire edition cards ohhh Naughty naughty Nvidia!

      It isn't a bad idea. All the 1080TI cards are now getting around $1200+ because of the crypto mining craze. He should make an update video on buying it now.

    Why not use the highest AA in Doom it enables Async and looks even better.

    • @zackphillips6795
      @zackphillips6795 7 лет назад +2

      at 4k it would be negligible visual gains in exchange for a lot of performance loss

    • @GamersNexus
      @GamersNexus  7 лет назад +1

      SuperBeautifulNoise No AA also enables async.

      I gathered that, thanks for the reply. I am on an 3 year old 24in 1080p screen using Nvidia DSR and I can still see jaggies at those setting unless I use AA. In your experience how much better does a 4k monitor look compared to DSR? Again thank you for replying to my comment and again I am sorry for be an ass to you a while ago.

    Well it is clear that the Titan Xp has terrible price to performance in games versus the 1080 Ti.

    Thanks a bunch for the tests. I recently bought a GTX ti Aorus Xtreme. In the OC stats in your results, are those results achieved using the "OC" mode in the Aorus Graphics Engine software? Or are those over clocks on top of using the "OC" mode? Thanks it will help me to gauge my system.
