Very good Thanks!. for "render sequence" you can change color management output it through the render settings. under "File Output" there's a color space setting (RAW/View/Output)

I really love your explanation, is profound about Maya. Is just I have a problem, mí diorama have textures in exr. Every time I active Arnold render View all I see is white like there are no textures. Even taking the photo thinking is just I don't see it. There is always that says "couldn't apply color management". My question, my problem has to be with color management? And plis a little help, I need it so I can give my project soon 🥲

Hello, Im using maya 2023.2 , keep getting an error from arnold saying that ''[texturesys] unable to convert from color space'' with any of my texture maps. They are exported as ACES-Acescg and Utility - Raw. I am using OCIO 1.2 config via an environment variable in windows. Any idea how to fix it ?

do you get a error: the view transform is invalid aces 1.0 sdr-video (srgb)
when you open a scene by double-clicking directly on "scene.mb"?

Thanks for the amazing video, very useful. My brain doesn't seem process color managment information very well so I do have a specific question.
I need to render a character and comp it in AE. My current Maya "rendering space" is ACEScg, "Display" is sRBG and "View" is ACES 1.0 SDR-video. It's basically all default. I am using tiff format for textures and by default Maya sets them on sRGB but they look very dark on viewport unless I set them individually on ACEScg (should I???).
So my question is: IS this workflow correct or should I change some of the settings in order to then comp my exr sequence in AE correctly?
Sorry for the long comment, I hope you find the heart to tell me what the correct settings for me are.

If your tiff files are linear (not gamma corrected) you should set them individually to RAW, and not to sRGB. The reason they look dark is that Maya assumes that they are sRGB gamma encoded images, and therefore decodes them as such. Since they look too dark it means that your images were linear in the first place, and should * be gamma encoded for display purpose.

@@wordsshackles441 Thank you so much. Your linear explanation is as clear as they come:)
May the gods of gamma be with you.

By the way, if your textures were sRGB images that were later somehow linearized, you should set them to 'Scene-linear sRGB', this will specify to Maya the actual color space of your textures. If you select RAW the color space will not be specified and you could observe a shift in the intended colors.
In other words there are two things Maya wants to know about your texture file :
      1. If they are gamma encoded (Not in your case)
      2. The actual Gamut or Color space.
      Hope this helps.
