I love the commentary on Lasha’s performance here. These guys recognize and celebrate just how remarkable and unprecedented it is to put together a 484 total in the same competition. Their commentary isn’t clouded by talk of “500.” Consequently, Lasha’s incredible accomplishment is duly recognized and not undercut by the talk of 500, which is close to impossible. Lasha is so unbelievable that he’s made us think it is possible. But I don’t think it is. Lasha pushed his body into a dangerous place to get 492, and he’s still working through the cost. On his best day I think he could get a little closer, but 500 is just too much. Nobody else has even come very close to 484 in a single meet, much less 492! Think about it. Neither Minasyan nor Lalayan is close to 484. We need perspective IMO.
Allow me to refer you to the preview picture which leads into this video. It simply shows Mr Talakhadze at the bottom of his squat clean, shouldering what appears to be over 360 kilograms aka 800 pounds. I count an incredible six 25 kg aka 55 pound each plates per side plus one yellow per side at 33 lb. each. This must be a photoshopped image correct ? Thanks. The image does not replicate inside the video at all.

Are we using the correct scales here? 100kg is 220 lbs., so 400 kgs is 881lbs. 484kgs is 1067 lbs.! Half a ton! I did not know the human body could lift that much overhead. I understood that the squat was tough at 1,000 lbs., so raising it overhead......?
