The real-life animatronic T-Rex has a bit of an unnerving story behind it too. Since they filmed scenes with it while it was raining in the movie, the material used to make the outer lair of skin would absorb so much moisture during filming that the whole rig would start shaking in a really unsettling manner. The had to sponge dry it frequently between takes to keep it from collapsing.
The water would also cause the animatronic to short curcit and resume activity randomly during the team's lunch break, which scared the shit out of them.
Imo in analog horror the thing that scares me the most is the fact that most of the time the entities (or in this case, dinosaurs) are insanely strong and you're just powerless to stop them (and also the fact that they look terrifying)
@@tirefishtbh, if you are planning on doing or giving illegal plane tours of a dinosaur infested island, you should probably have one available for emergencies.

How many times are they going to try opening a park with animals so ancient that we don't know everything about how they behave? It always end in chaos with this setting/context
Fun fact 4plus The T-rex animatronic of this jurassic park analog horror was based on the fact that the literal jurassic park T-rex animatronic moving on its own (it sadly wasn't showed on film when it happened) and it's so great that they made an analog horror of that peculiar ahh random event with that animatronic 😁
I was just coming to comment this. The water damaged the electronics and it would just move on it's own, which meant it actually WAS dangerous to work with.
@@JustToSaveYou It's funnier when you consider Spielberg went thru the same trouble with the shark in Jaws; i cant imagine how obnoxious dealing with that completely submerged in water was.
You know, I never would've considered going with a behind the scenes route to Jurassic Park horror, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. Working with giant animatronics like that is as close to real life dinosaurs as we'll ever get, and machines of that size ARE legitimately dangerous. Consider me interested.
Bro all dinosaurs including herbivores would have me shitting and pissing my pants at the same time also the guy who was getting hunted by trex and spino why did he not run when they were fighting right in front of him?
Is it weird that I can actually fall asleep with these videos. I love analog horror videos but this guy is awesome hopefully you get to another milestone 4plus keep up the axing work man
Yeah i think the big issue with the Jurassic World series (aside from the fact that there didnt need to be sequels in the first place) is that Universal has/had them under contract for no horror movies under their name. idk why but ive heard the one in production now is meant to be more like the original so 🤞fingers crossed!! for now i will live vicariously through 4 plus's commentary
Fun fact: the scene with the t-rex breaking the glass roof thats used in the analog horror did actually happen during production While the script for the film had the t-rex attack the roof of the JP jeep, it wasn't planned for it to break the roof. During production the mechanical rex's head moved too far down and one of its teeth hit the glass roof causing the rex animatronic to both lose the tooth and the roof (which was made of a pretty heavy plexiglass) to fall off on top of tim and lex's actors what we saw in the film were the Tim and Lex's actor's genuine reaction, it took hours for the production team to try to reset everything, so Spielberg decided "the heck with it, let's just use the footage we got"
9:45 a restaurant near me has a very old jurassic park 3 (I think) shooter cabinet. All of these tapes have such a liminal feeling for me because it's all places in the video game. I don't know what it is, but it almost makes me feel like I'm remembering a real place I'd been to, seeing that real place again. The rickety walkway where the guy gets killed by the pterodactyl; the depot/parking lot, or whatever where the spinosaurus was; even the little auditorium; I know those places intimately from that video game without ever having been there, (obviously, it's fake), but it's a weird feeling.
Hey there man I'm not sure if anyone told you this before or you might have heard this before but according to Steven Spielberg and the rest of the crew members who actually made the Jurassic Park movie The first One they say that sometimes late at night the animatronic T-Rex will move sometimes and even at times to stop at different poses as well...... And it's a true story
A truly terrifying recommendation I have are the Twelve Man Tapes. They are fnaf analog horror tapes and they stray away from the norm but its still something that could realistically happen in game.
I think there's also an aspect of the medium synergizing with the scene, as it were. Analogue style covers up a lot of the mistakes and visual issues that amateur creators have, while also combining well with dinosaurs specifically due to the older Jurassic Park 80s-to-90s vibe. The movies have gotten LESS scary over time, the earliest ones were the most frightening. So dinosaur analog horror is sort of a perfect storm of nostalgia, scratching an itch the modern movies and shows won't, and also being easy enough for indy fans to make very high quality examples. It also really goes to show that you don't need much more than a shoebox and some string to make a good horror film.
Happy new year 4 Plus! I started watching your channel a week ago and it is so awesome and you cover these analog horrors so well I feel like you should be a part of the film theorists lol

On the topic of Jurassic World: Rebirth, it is directed by Gareth Edwards, the same director of Godzilla: 2014, a wonderful film with horrifying scenes (seriously, just watch the ‘H.A.L.O. Jump’ scenes, as well as the one with Godzilla’s silhouette) and a great character storyline.
I really loved Jurassic World. But Fallen Kingdom had me leaving the theatres like… yep that was a movie. I also haven’t seen Dominion. But man, now i want a Dino horror game with FNAF-style security cameras.
4:17 The fact rexy is full grown despite this taking place 2 years before the first movie is even crazier. It's insane how glossed over it is that the dinosaurs are full grown in 1/10th the time as their real world counterparts.
If I’m not mistaken, the scene at 15:14 was actually a slight malfunction with the animatronic…I think its head dropped too fast or too far or something, I don’t remember specifics, but those were the genuine reactions from the kids
14:51 somewhat true, irl they didn't tell the kids that Rexy would push the glass on the top of the Tour Jeep in, so those screams from JP 1 were their real reactions.
A fnaf styled analog horror to Jurassic park where the events are real and happen in the universe in which the movie was filmed in is a pretty unique idea, needless to say I’d pay money to see something like this
On your intro, it genuinely feels like the team working on Jurassic World & the team working on Legendary's Godzilla movies should really be swapped. Jurassic Park is a horror with the focus on the consequences of creating such genetic monstrosities on the people and the environment really being in the forefront, meaning a focus on the human characters would benefit Jurassic World and taking it in the direction of its thriller roots. By contrast, Godzilla never really stayed to its roots of Japan struggling with its relationship with nuclear energy (a fact that only further motivated the antagonist for The Man in the Suit,) swapping its deeper meaning for broad appeal as action movies involving giant monsters. Giving them each other's teams would just appeal to the strengths of the given teams while simultaneously giving fans what they want from the IPs
The only reason the name "Ellsworth" rings any bells to me (this is the first video I'm watching on this series as well as on your channel) is because of ERRATAS and how the name 'Todd Ellsworth' is an anagram of The Lost World. I just thought it was cool that it was included.
I’m pretty sure the 3rd video is based on an Urban legend/Creepypasta about how supposedly the animatronic for the T-Rex wasn’t covered properly and because of that it’s programming got messed up and attacked the kids when it wasn’t supposed to. Obviously fake but an interesting concept.
