Hi nice video
I’ve been having fun, sim rally racing, for an entire month, straight. I even get my wife to pour me shots of Patrón, travel mugs of Columbian ☕️ and 🐪 🐪 ...
1:34 lol killin me Scotty
Scotty could you do a video on the US 25 year import rule vs the Canadian 15 year import rule?
I'm getting fantastic gas mileage . 3 gallons to the month !!
Jack D make sure you get a refund from insurance
I was putting 100 miles a week on my car it was started first time today in 3 weeks it feels pretty powerful since in 3 weeks if only drove my lawnmower to mow a few times

Just take a drive once a week, you don't have to stop anywhere just take a relaxing drive around the city traffic light, check tires, and your car will be fine.

G.M. just shipped the first batch of ventilators. How long until the first recall ?
SK will insist on one made by Toyota.
Clayton Gehrke if it’s anything like the touch screens in the 2020s they’ll fail soon lol
That is just terrible but I sure hope the qualities better than there cars
Don't worry Trump is behind this contract. He is a man of his word.
GM has already issued a recall notice to hospitals. Only problem is the ventilators are still in storage
“Curse you birds hiding in the trees” hahaha. That’s why I invested in a decent car cover to help protect against birds, pollen, and the sun
If it's a planned parking i Nufinish and forget it. I've had too many under covers get paint discoloration from covers and collect water.
Jay Bronze i have one of those too, for my cougar.
MC C just tell them to give organic and oily feed so that the dropping will be nonstick .
Buy a cheap tarp and some rope. You can even protect the car from tree sap and pollution.
The only thing I dislike about covers is they can wear your paint if they’re not secured really really well and even then the wind moves it around ever so slightly on your car.
My car already sits too long.. it’s a Chrysler

Full gas tanks also prevent rust in the tank..
Few days before i saw video about petrol thief, who ride on Mercedes luxury sedan (endless money pit). They steal it from poor cheap old cars with simple straight gas tank nossle. They do it now, because few people on streets. Its funny, premium car owner grab petrol from pensioners and students...
I thinking it is good to drive at least once a week. I noticed rust on the brake discs the other day, and by driving the rust goes away. Cars are meant be driven not parked for a long time
Davin Peterson brake rotors can pick up rust overnight. You knock it off basically within 5 minutes of driving around; but even my daily driver that sees 300 miles in a slow week makes that noise the first 3-4 times I hit the brakes
The same with humans. They're not meant to sleep the whole day.
Stuff goes wrong when you don’t drive a car. My 1993 miata I bought last year did have both rear calipers rusted out inside due to the last owner left the car sit a while. Leaving a car unused for a good while will damage the car.
Felipe Villegas man i love sleeping the whole day. helps me catch up from revving my engine all week.
@@brucemorris3830 A word of caution, it can absolutely get bad enough that it doesn't come off in five minutes and/or when it finally does, you have warped the rotors. I know this from experience.
I had mine sit for 6 months since the dealership provided me a rental. Waiting on recall parts. Been driving my vehicle again for 8 months. No problems so far.
Scotty you are the best buddy. Thank you a million for all the tips and advise buddy.

I agree with SK. Avoid having vehicles sit for extended periods if you can but if required, start & move it. Run the A/C 🌡 too. Run the engine, open & close all the doors, trunk. I had my late mom's 1997 GM cavalier with 17000+ mi break down & need major repairs after 2yr. It was bad.

car insurance companies loving the quarantine
Heck, I hear some of them are pro-rating the premiums temporarily by about 15-20% because customers that used to drive 200 miles a week are now driving 2 miles a week!
@@brucemorris3830 is that actually true?? My premium for my cars used to be $93 for the last two months (recently went down from the $147 I used to pay), now my recent monthly premium payment was for $177.
That is true except only 1 out of the 3 we own is on insurance so we can go to the grocery store. The other two we just move them around, start the car, and we also have damp rid sitting in the container on the floor board and open the windows and let it air out
Pete Rodriguez III I haven’t seen it yet but my insurance comes out of my payroll on my union’s group plan. I’ve been told this by a couple people who pay the year up front or month by month, not sure what companies
Some insurers are offering discounts for a few months. Just call and ask. The worst they can say is no which is your clue to look for a better insurance company.

The Battery Tender company makes a solar powered tender. I’ve been using two for 5 years to keep my car and travel trailer batteries charged while they sit in outdoor storage for 7 or 8 months every year. I also use Stabil in the car’s gas. These items work perfectly.

What?
This is for real. I've watched 2 motorhomes fall apart because they weren't driven often enough. Great advice!
Thank you very much for this video. I was wondering about flat spots on my tires.
those smart tenders are great. i used one on a year 2000 battery that still works great today.
I'm just glad I haven't had to fill up the tank on a weekly basis
I took your advice on one of your Last videos I have changed my oil and air filter and bought new tires today
Inexpensive DC clamp-meters use hall-effect sensors to read the magnetic field on the clamp core and are sensitive to their orientation relative to ambient magnetic fields. You need to zero them as close to the final measurement position and orientation as possible so the amount of bias being zero'd is as close as possible to what the meter will see wherever it is going. The zeroing is only valid for the location and orientation it was done at. If you need to take a measurement in a different location or orientation, you need to check and likely set your zero again.
I wish i would of read this before i tried to zero out the ambient magnetic field before hand... now I’m stuck with a blown defibrillator with negative 5 degrees of a dildo
mongoloid you can only set to zero after you reconfigure the modulating orientational girth of the dildo
On my second, which stays parked for long periods of time, I use a solar battery maintenaner. Works well, car turns on.
Yeah, Scotty, the Apostle of mechanics.
I do the same with my motorcycle and mower. Saby-bil and fill the tanks up in the Fall. They fire right up in the Spring.
With gas so cheap I take my car on the highway at least three times a week. I always love a nice road trip on the back highways of Iowa!
Thinking about getting a sportbike again.
Lucas fuel preserver totally works, put it in briggs and stratton lawnmower engine in October, then in April it started 1st pull.
Hope you're staying safe Scotty ❤️

@three blind mice covid-19
I agree on a lot of these advise. But I don't recomend using car covers if you care about your paint because it leaves swearls on the clear coat, I learned thst the hard way. Also, do turn on your car once a week and run it to keep the battery healthy. Finally do rinse the pollen and bird poop off your car. Those hacks have kept my 2013 f150 looking like new.
Does anyone ever wonder what Scotty's neighbors think when he's outside on the driveway, screaming at a camera while twirling his arms around in circles for what seems like forever? Would love to see those folks do a video on living next to the infamous Scotty! :)

Scotty would you please do a special video on what we can do for good cars that we care about which have been left unstarted for 10 years due to a medical problem, but we now want to rescue them from the neglect? Thanks!
Rodents. Nesting from sitting is a risk. Set traps, run the engine every few days - check the engine bay first.
Yeah I gave my cat one hell of a lesson. Man there was fur and blood every where. Lucky lived missing a few parts. I made splints for his two broken legs one front and back. And hockey tape. Lucky is doing great. But he's older.
So true.. I had a 94 corsica that sat for a year and fired right up. My 13 optima on the other hand wont start if it sits for more than 3 days
This man is so relevant,.. he speaks solutions to all the problems regular guys face every day. wow!
Excellent as always, Scotty! Glad to hear your recommendation to let the car idle for a half hour. My aunt’s classic old (1970’s?) Caddy convertible suffered engine failure (main bearing seized) b/c in her later years, she only used it for 5 minute trips down the street for groceries. Never warmed up enough to evaporate condensation (or fuel?) in oil sump, made some kind of acid that broke down the oil, didn’t know to change oil by mile OR time. Bye-bye engine.
my Nisan 2005 has only 38000 because I didn't drive it for almost 12 years and tires were completely destroyed AC was completely shot and everything in AC path had to be replaced .
Coincidentally my BMW is parked until its new differential gets here. Yeah I know, it's a money pit. But it's a helluva fun money pit. :)
I have not been driving my car that much since after spring break due to covid 19. I have been driving my car for at least once a week to keep it going and use it for essential errands.
Hey Scotty, the Toyota Celica store called, theyre running out of you!
What's the difference? You're their all time best seller!
Honorable mentions: Be Sure to start the car & take it for a 10 minute or more drive especially when cold (essentially operating temperature) because Your oil as so Other fluids will also break down even synthetic. Also oil rather staying on crucial parts (like it does for; synthetic lasts longer) you're going to get even more of a dry start which wears out the engine faster. So by just a once a week 20 min drive you'll keep the multiple fluids & crucial parts moving so you'll continue to get the most out of your vehicle.
7:41 "Curse you birds hiding in the trees"

I had mice nest in my wife’s car after it sat for a period of time. I work from home, but on one fateful day I was headed to a meeting, all spiffied up. I got in the car, cranked it up, turned the air on, and was blasted in the face with mouse nest confetti. I was sweating a little from a hot shower, so it all stuck on my face. This was a pivotal moment in my war against mice. I could hear them celebrating. I harnessed my anger and left no mouse standing in the following weeks. To top it off, at the same time I was confettied, the brake pedal slammed to the floor with absolutely no pressure. That turned out to be a corroded brake line. The short one that runs from the main line to the rear wheel drum cylinder. At the time I attributed it to the mice. True story.

Bought an aluminum hose nozzle to use at my Florida beach house. Left the brand new barely used nozzle outside on a table under the lanai so it couldn't get rained on. Six months later it was so corroded it was unusable. I now keep my hose nozzles in a drawer inside the beach house.
A similar hose nozzle left outside in the rain and winter in Atlanta wouldn't have as much corrosion in five years as the one at my Florida beach house had in six months. Everything corrodes fast near the beach. Not so bad inland though. And a car left at my beach house will not corrode as fast as it would if it stayed in upstate New York where the roads get salted year round.
