  • This is a review on the Elite Ritual Compound bow. I shot the Elite Ritual in this review at 70 lbs 30 inch draw with a 350, 450, and 550 grain arrow. I also shoot this Elite Ritual compound bow at 65 lbs and 30 inch draw at 325, 425, and 525 grains. I even shoot this Elite Ritual at 60lbs and 30 inch draw with a 300 grain arrow.

    Op never mind I found the review Sean. lol I think what you are talking about is the limb stops on the elite vs the xpedition. The x does slam into the wall. The cam design on the ritual and my synergy are softer and like you said. " it just stays there" after release. That's why I've stuck with my synergy at this point. I sold my xpedition bows. But I really want to take a good hour to really compare the ritual with the synergy. Just by shooting it a few times, I think man, it's just in my budget to stay for now. Love the reviews. God Bless brother

    I like the honest discussion about the struggle over which reading to use. With the "blip" reading you used it gave an ibo of 327, and this particular bow coming in well under the claimed ibo rating has become a hot topic on the internet. If you calculate your numbers based on the 68# it "rode" at in the cycle, the ibo comes out at 331 with no peep and a 10grn string loop. That's a respectable number. I've had my Ritual for less than a week and even with a shoulder injury that forced me to turn my Impulse down to 63# I'm shooting my Ritual at 73#. The draw cycle is that much smoother and it results in an overall gain in arrow speed despite the lower ibo rating.

      @@joc6117 If I had the money in my hand and had to buy one or the other, I would get the VXR. The reason is that the Ritual is last year's model and the VXR is this year's model. Both bows are really nice. If I had to pick between the VXR and the Kure, I would buy the Kure because of the new technology they developed for tuning.

      Lol, that'd be cool. I wish they would too, lol. I emailed all the companies, including my contact at BowTech, and Elite invited me out. BowTech just told me to go to the local dealer and shoot their bows. As a result, I'm at the mercy of what the local dealer has, and right now, I think they only have one BowTech in stock because it is just that time of year where manufacturers are trying to get bows out to dealers and everyone wants them and few have them in stock... So, who knows. Might be a little while before I get my hands on any new BowTechs. We shall see. God bless ya and thanks for watching.

    Hey Sean, I was curious. Which bow is your favorite from the 2017 flagship bows? As always, great review on this bow. This bow is on the list to look at for sure now.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  6 лет назад +2

      Well, when I reviewed the bows, I went with the BowTech Reign. However, I admit that while I was hunting in an ice/snow storm with one this winter I was afraid to pick the bow up and draw it back because of all the past limb problems they had with breaking. The fact that I was bothered by that and afraid to draw the bow made me realize I'd rather change bows because even if it wasn't going to brake, I'd rather not have those kinds of doubts in my mind while hunting. I'd rather be able to stay focused on the hunt. Other bows I liked a lot last year were the the Elite Option series and the Xpedition Xcursion series. Matthews Halon was nice but the back wall isn't firm enough for my taste. I'd say those were my other top favorites.

    • @SamongOutdoors
      @SamongOutdoors 6 лет назад

      I gotcha. Is there a 2018 flagship bow that you like better than the Bowtech Reign or do you like the Reign, overall, more than the 2018 bows?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  6 лет назад +1

      I still have a lot of bows to shoot. My two favorite so far are the Ritual and APA but the APA comes off the back wall too easily. I shot a Martin Prototype at the Great American Outdoor show that seemed pretty nice, but until they finish it and get it on the market it's hard to say. But, as I said, I still have a lot of bows I need to shoot to see where they all stand in my preferences.

    Out of the Option 6 or 7 and the Ritual, which of those bows do you prefer? It seems the ritual is a bit slower and only a couple decibels quieter than the option 6, but as far as the draw cycle and everything else involved which bow would you choose and why?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  5 лет назад +1

      I think I would go with the Ritual just because it is a newer bow. They are both really nice bows. I think you would be in good shape with either bow as they are both nice. But, for me, I would probably choose the Ritual just because it is newer technology.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  3 года назад +1

      That comes down to personal preference. Longer ata is traditionally believed to be more stable and forgiving but the shorter ata more maneuverable in tight hunting situations. I personally like longer ata but I also have almost a 32 inch draw. At the end of the day, both are really nice and should serve your purposes.

      Micky, I sent the pictures you sent me right to the Elite people. They told me they were already in contact with you regarding the issue. I didn't see any issues on any of the finishes of the bows I handled, nor have I ever seen any issues with the finish on Elite bows I've handled over the years. I'm sorry that you are having a bad experience. I have not handled any bows with a bad finish so I couldn't report that, because it hasn't happened so far. I also have not owned an Elite so I haven't had to deal with them on warranty, but everyone else I've talked to has had a positive outcome. I tried to help you get the issue resolved by sending the information right to them. If they are not helping you then I'm sorry, but there really isn't much else I can do for you. Your statement has been noted here and the public can now see that, so I hope you are satisfied to that extent. God bless you

      Also, the 300 grain arrows were provided by them, so I didn't have a way to weigh them. That said, there could have been some variance between their scale and my scale. My 350 grain arrows may have weighed a little differently on their scale, and their 300 grain arrows may have weighed a little differently on my scale. So, that could have caused a little variation in the readings.

    Okay, so take away the fear of the bowtech limb problems, which bow do you think is the better all around bow (Noise, Vibration, Feel, Weight)? Bowtech Reign or Elite Ritual?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  6 лет назад +1

      I'm someone who likes to tinker with my bows. I do like being able to play with cam lean in the tuning, which you can do with a BowTech and can't do as easily with Elite. With an elite you have to take the cams off and shim them if you are adjusting for cam lean to tune the bow to you, and that is a little more work than just popping the yoke off and adjusting the lean. Both are great bows, and I would be happy shooting either, but I do like to tinker.

    • @roadworn1980
      @roadworn1980 6 лет назад

      Sean's Outdoor Adventures so not really enough difference in feel, noise, weight or shoot ability to say one better than the other? I’m leaning towards the reign 6 but will be shooting both to make sure before I make the purchase. Thanks for fast response

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  6 лет назад

      Yeah, I would personally be happy shooting either. It is a really tough call. They are both very nice bows, both very quiet and both have a solid back wall. Both also stay on the back wall very well (well if you are in the comfort setting of the bowtech, which is what I leave mine on). If you are on the performance setting of the BowTech, you will get more speed, but then it comes off the back wall much easier and doesn't have that smooth feel any more. It is still quiet when it goes off and has no hand shock, but it is quite a different feel. So, when I compare the two, I am comparing the bowtech on the comfort setting.
