This video feels like 2 main characters in a show after 10 seasons spanning across 6+ years having one last chat and talking about great times. I fell into rallying last year in the early summer and my the stories I learn along the way is just beautiful.
On the topic of BRC incentive, the problem is that to do a WRC event in any car is really expensive. Chris Ingram said earlier this year in a podcast that it cost him the amount to do a BRC season to just do Rallye Monte, and he even had engine issues forcing him to retire. The problem is that Rally1 is 2.5 times more expensive to run than a Rally2/R5. If you won the BRC or Finnish Rally Championship back in the 90s/00s from what I've seen is that almost every rally fan would know your name and it would be easier to do a wrc season in just a small works team in the top of wrc. What the FIA need to do in 2027 is have cars as fast or close as fast the rally1 cars but make it cost effective, that it allows teams like M-SPORT but also manufactures to enter the sport and also allow national champions to have at least a chance a 2 rallies, it would help get drivers into the spotlight leading to more sponsor offers/deals. Don't me wrong, these Rally1 cars will forever be one of my favorite group of rally cars and in the next 40 years I'll be telling my children and the young generation on how everyone would turn their heads looking at these amazing beasts with drivers pushing to the absolute limit.
