@plane476lucky2 it really was. And me being a smackdown kid, it was awesome to see every week. One match that I remember to this day was their steel cage match when they touched the ground at the same time. Mark Henry came out, slammed Taker a few times then as Henry's walking back up the ramp Edge's music hits and he cashes in his MITB. It was a lot to process as a kid lol
For real! Their rivalry was my introduction to WWE in remember it like it was yesterday. I came across smackdown. It was exactly at the part when they were escaping the cage and land at the same time. Then I see these two big bloody guys, it was love at first sight.
I was watching heavy in those years, especially '06-'08. Taker was doing fucking amazing during that time, I'd say especially in 2007. That year fucking kicked ass for WWE as a whole. The mid 2000's was a fucking killer cast. They were all legends.
Undertaker's evolving feud with Batista and Edge between early 2007 and mid 2008 is one of my all-time favorites. That final Hell in a Cell match with Edge was PERSONAL.
Undertakers mindset most likely had been. He had so many stinker matches with bigger guys at Wrestlemania that he probably was worried that this match wasn’t gonna work but Batista was so talented and Undertaker are so talented that the match did work. And it ended up being a great Wrestlemania match and the build was great to.
His match with Batista is what I can only hope for in modern WWE. They had a textbook example of proper story telling and perfectly paced matches in the ring. Always a big fight feel when they had that amazing 07-08 run, which ultimately led to Taker and Edge which was another phenomenal story.
I would agree insofar the match quality being top notch and the fact that The Streak was elevated to levels yet unseen. But I might be the only one who says this, but I loved the matches against Kane, Orton and Mark Henry in the years prior
Wrestlemania 23. All grown up. This has the Kayne vs. Great Khali. Mr Kennedy winning the mitb. New school vs Ecw originals. HBK and cena. Benoit vs. MVP. This is the show where Jeff hardy jumps onto ladder with edge.
That feud between Taker & Batista was incredible. While the story was incredibly simple being based around the title the matches themselves were incredible
That match is when Batista REALLY came into his own. And it's surprising to me that Dave was apparently the one who was leading that match. He's on record saying that he wanted to prove to Taker that he deserved to be in there with him at Wrestlemania, and God damn it he did it. That was the first match, asides from Randy at 21, where you believed the streak could be over. I mean, Batista was the Smackdown guy for so long. He was the other side of the coin for Cena, World Champ and he had that big gold belt for most of its time on smackdown, and he was getting a LOT of offense. Super glad that they both love that match because I love that match as well.
The Wrestlemania match, the Last Man Standing Match, the Cage match! They were some fantastic matches. I was in school back then and for me, this was a literal clash of titans. That rivalry was just🔥
But remember, trump said that when he say undertaker’s entrance, he said “Vince how are we going to beat that!” But overall, the match with taker and Batista was the best follow by cena and hbk.
Gotta give it up to the people that built tables strong enough to hold over 600lbs in their center, yet burst into pieces when Dave slammed Undertaker through it.
That streak(ha) of Wrestlemania matches was just so damn good. Batista, Edge, Shawn x2. I always had a softspot for the Batista match and I hardly ever see people talk about it. It was and is so damn good
I still think that match between Taker & Batista should've been the main event. They had a killer storyline as well as Shawn & Cena. Plus, I always believed that the winner of the Royal Rumble Match should always have a guaranteed main event spot at WrestleMania.
It’s one of my favourite Taker matches. The build up, the match it self, the athleticism of both Men, it was perfect, perfect, down to the last my-noot detail.
Mark is a hard wrestler to have a bad match with period. While it is definitely possible and it has happened several times, the majority of his matches to me were top shelf quality. He'll do his part and make his counterpart look stellar as well. Dave and Mark put on a hell of a show in that match son
Taker is my all time favorite wrestler ever. I remember being a bright eyed 10 year old kid who always went for the heels, and at that time it was Hogan and Warrior who ran the business. When he showed up at Survivor Series as DiBiase's mystery partner i was absolutely captivated by him and the aura he had with him. Who knew he'd have a 30 year run and become a legend. Thanks for everything Taker.
Till this day I say that was his best wrestlemania man ! That crowd with that fight was different! No cages no outside distractions just these 2 duking it out!
I love watching clips like these. Idk why...just getting insight into the professionals head of what they were thinking before during and after a match is so interesting
If it was one Undertaker match that i wish happened at wrestlemania would be KURT ANGLE vs UNDERTAKER. The few matches that they did have were great. I think them having a match at wrestlemania would've been one of the all time greats. Maybe a wrestlemania match against EDDIE GUERRERO as well. Just to to see if Eddie could Lie, Cheat, & Steal his was to a win.
I was there, it was my first wrestling show ever and it was epic. I was 16 years old traveling by plane to Detroit after flying out of OHare. I remember Taker and Batista match being my favorite as well but the following morning in the airport I was behind Batista and he saw me wearing a shirt I bought the night before and he asked if I had enjoyed the matches and I said yes and before he went his way I selfishly asked for an autograph on a WM23 promotion poster I had gotten and he signed it, I still have it in my possession. Taker and Batista put on a fantastic match that should’ve been the main event.
I remember this, this was my first wrestle mania watching it as a kid. I fell in love with Taker during his Royal Rumble win earlier in the year and Taker winning against Batista solidified it for me for being MY Goat.
That whole feud was fucking awesome. I legit didn't know who I wanted to win because Batista was one of the only big guys I actually liked and Taker was in his undeniable peak. I wish we had gotten Batista vs Angle, that shit would have slapped.
What i love about the ruthless aggression era is that no matter what the storyline was, you’re at least gonna watch a pro wrestling classic every single time the bell rang
Undertaker vs Batista was one of my favorite feuds. Edge coming in with the Money in the Bank contract on Smackdown after their Steel Cage Match is the reason I'm an Edgehead for life.
this was Wrestlemania 23, first I watched after discovering wrestling, following cable being available in the village I grew up... Dayum, such memories!
It makes me so happy that he worked with Dave in that wrestlemania and they both are just so proud of it
Would have loved to see sting vs taker
there entire feud was awesome
Me to I’m proud to have witnessed it live
@plane476lucky2 it really was. And me being a smackdown kid, it was awesome to see every week. When I was a kid I always thought of batista and undertaker as rivals with a long history bc they worked so good together.
It’s crazy that this rivalry isn’t talked about more… Him, Batista and Edge MADE 2007 great
Without question their feud was what made smackdown the main show to watch that year
Not one bad match with either of them 3 involved together
And great khali
For real! Their rivalry was my introduction to WWE in remember it like it was yesterday. I came across smackdown. It was exactly at the part when they were escaping the cage and land at the same time. Then I see these two big bloody guys, it was love at first sight.
@@chrismasterz why you not including mark henry destroying taker
Yeah the Batista and undertaker feud is very underrated
That was such a good match, Taker and Dave had legit chemistry
I meeeeeaaaann he did stuff Batista in that because Batista was Fuck’n up but it was still good
You know , takers 05 - 09 run is wildly underrated I feel like ..
Let’s see, Mark Henry, Batista, edge and Shawn Michael in that time span and in my opinion they were all bangers
Take out the meh matches with Orton, Henry, Khali from 06, but 07-09 was better.
Yup. Taker was also in the best shape of his life during those years
@@Braze-xq6pkthe WM26 match with those two has to be one of if not the best match in history.
I was watching heavy in those years, especially '06-'08. Taker was doing fucking amazing during that time, I'd say especially in 2007. That year fucking kicked ass for WWE as a whole. The mid 2000's was a fucking killer cast. They were all legends.

Sent edge straight to hell

Exactamundo
Nah they didn't like each other in real life during that time.
Nah batista wasn't talented. He admitted undertaker carried him the entire match. He also admitted HHH carried him during their feud in 05
@Music64378 thank you. Batista had a look but not much talent
@@malikevans2615Based on what exactly? Sounds like you’re making shit up.
Batista and Undertaker's rivalry was so underrated

They legit had a good feud. Every time they wrestled it was a good match
WM 23 was the start of Undertaker's stellar matches at WrestleMania culminating at WM 29 vs Punk
I would agree insofar the match quality being top notch and the fact that The Streak was elevated to levels yet unseen.
But I might be the only one who says this, but I loved the matches against Kane, Orton and Mark Henry in the years prior
Nah. Mania 21 against Orton was the start of great classic matches. Also can't forget Him vs Flair at mania 18 and him vs HHH at mania 17
Ironic, the match was so good they ended up feud for a quarter of the year.
And it was a great feud 👍🏾
Wrestlemania 23. All grown up. This has the Kayne vs. Great Khali. Mr Kennedy winning the mitb. New school vs Ecw originals. HBK and cena. Benoit vs. MVP. This is the show where Jeff hardy jumps onto ladder with edge.

*”Great fight, I want my rematch.”*
And Taker just nods in agreement 🗿
@@iiSeaCoooooooowWho the hell is “Kayne”? You mean Kane?
@@NoxWyatt😂
Lol nobody wanted to go after HBK
His match with Cena wasn’t that great for a wrestlemania main event and nobody really talks about it much either.
@@UFCWWE69 yeah the rematch at Raw was much better

@ThePunk01 their wm23 match wasn't that great
Wasnt Lashely involved in the hair vs hair match aswell?
Yup him.vs Umaga(RIP)
That feud between Taker & Batista was incredible. While the story was incredibly simple being based around the title the matches themselves were incredible
I didnt remember hair vs hair being rhe main event...
But I remember the Taker/Batista feud was awesome!!! They worked so well together!
Shawn and Cena was the main 😊
It wasn’t , the main event was cena vs HBK
Oh! My mistake. Thank god!
Me and my bought Samoan are the main event damnit you think trump went and bought the biggest black guy he could find for nothing-VKM
Bobby Lashley vs Umaga 😂
I was at that Mania. The energy in the crowd going back and forth between the two was electric.
Man it was lit ford field was packed
Undertaker's voice in-character: Demonic
Undertaker's interview voice: Customer Service Rep
I was thinking an antique show host
😂
You got my words😂😂

Batista carried smackdown during 07 imo. He was involved in every world heavyweight title match of that year
All I remember from the Vince vs Trump match was Jim Ross saying “AUSTIN STUNNED THE DONALD”
He stunned 😲 😯 😮 the then future president of the United States 🇺🇸, lol 😂.
The Streak lives in our hearts Take…
The Wrestlemania match, the Last Man Standing Match, the Cage match! They were some fantastic matches. I was in school back then and for me, this was a literal clash of titans.

The mark Henry match is too underrated. Taker was and killer shape and everything went perfect. I enjoyed that one.
Gotta give it up to the people that built tables strong enough to hold over 600lbs in their center, yet burst into pieces when Dave slammed Undertaker through it.
There is a difference between holding the weight of 600lbs and withstanding the force of 600lbs slamming with high speed and momentum
bro entered wm with the same gear
Taker really went and found the Wish version of Conrad to host his podcast
That streak(ha) of Wrestlemania matches was just so damn good. Batista, Edge, Shawn x2. I always had a softspot for the Batista match and I hardly ever see people talk about it. It was and is so damn good
So crazy that takers a podcaster now. Who woulda ever thunk it
This match is 5 stars to me. Two top guys going at it
That entire wrestlemania was awesome. I can't remember one boring segment. Undertaker vs Batista was indeed great. Lots of power. Lots of action.
Me neither
Kane vs Khali was pretty awful, and the MITB ladder match was pretty underwhelming. 😂
This match was so good and led to arguably Undertakers best Rivalries in 2007-2009 with Batista and Edge.
Batista and undertaker were my first introduction to tv wrestling as a kid watching it on my neighbors house I was like wow👏👏🙌🙌
That match was really good. I saw it years later when I started buying WWE DVD/Blu-Ray box sets. I was impressed.
I still think that match between Taker & Batista should've been the main event. They had a killer storyline as well as Shawn & Cena. Plus, I always believed that the winner of the Royal Rumble Match should always have a guaranteed main event spot at WrestleMania.
That was an underrated match. This is when the streak started to become a thing and man they put up a show. Undertaker-Batista feud was crazy
Him and Rock not headlining a wrestlemania during the attitude era is a crime…
The build up to this was amazing!! Probably the best Taker looked physically cause the lighting made him looked RIPPED!!!
Their Last Man Standing was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
That match stole the whole show!
When you got a podcast at 4 and wrestlemania at 9
The attire undertaker wore at the event is my all-time favorite!!
You know batista might be the most underrated wrestler‼️
That WM match was lit
It’s one of my favourite Taker matches.

Taker in 07 was just on another level. Best shape of his entire career. Damn near every match was a classic.
One of my favorites Undertaker matches.
It was so great too because they didn’t touch for almost 2 years on the same show. It was so old school without making the show boring.
Batista and taker was a sick rivalry and that match arguably stole the show
That era was the era I fell in love with wrestling and it was the Undertakers supernatural character and story that drew me into it.
2005-10 was peak Taker.
I have no idea why but I had this wrestle mania on tape, I could tell you pretty much every match except this one funny enough lol
I had the DVD and I remember about 98% of it I watched it damn near everyday I was 10 at the time and this match was my favorite
His rivalry with Batista was epic, so many great and physical matches ,they had such great chemistry
The 'Taker eye roll 😂😂😂

One of my favorite rivalries in wwe history, throwing edge into the mix enhanced everything as well.
The fact they were on fourth was criminal.
The had a very hard hitting 3-4 PPV matches in a row. Legit chemistry and they worked very well together
Many people seem to regard this match (as well as his other matches with Taker) as Batista's greatest matches of all time
