Thank you for your brilliant coverage of this incident. It is well informed and professional as opposed to what majority of people are doing in social media detailing and arguing about what they don't know at all!
One of those choppers flew above me recently and I just wondered whether that's the normal sound produced by any choppers worth to fly. Like an old lorry!!
@@elizabethmwalo8424 This is a helicopter that was used 50+ years ago and production stopped in the 70s...Americans don't even use them anymore unless just for training. This particular helicopter could be 50 years just like theAmerican F-5 fighter jets that Kenya uses that are over 45 years old
this is assasination bana we aint fools...in kenyan history no millitary chief has ever died in such a manner,,,what i know, moi, biwot total man, kibaki all roting in da grave...only GOD lives forever,,,leadership wont follow u to tha grave,,,
Wacha hizo.....THIS IS A 50 YEAR OLD HELICOPTER THAT AMERICANS STOPPED PRODUCTION IN THE 70S. Use your brain. Even spair parts they don't produce anymore but are taken from older decommissioned helicopters to service the ones that are in service that Americans DONATED. 3 of the 8 that KENYA WAS GIVEN HAVE NOW CRASHED.
Ajali haina kinga. Pole sana waliopoteza wapendwa. Si masikitiko makubwa jamani.
Range 455km distance from Nairobi to the crash site they say is around 400 km considering circling and hoovering could fuel have been the cause of the crash?
The Huey II helicopters, which were given freely to KDF by USA,are known donkeys of war and maneuverbility and Kenya is not the 1st country to receive such from America...else,if i give you a token of a car, dont tell me you still want me to keep servicing your car. If KDF cannot keep their planes in good condition who do they blame when one crashes anyway?????
YEAH! 50+ YEAR OLD HELICOPTER THAT THEY DON'T VEN MAKE SPARE PARTS ANYMORE.....You know that the spare parts of this helicopters are taken from the older helicopters in the junk yards in the US to service the ones that were DONATED TO POOR COUNTRIES BY AMERICANS...Use your brain
i can atest that the us keeps their planes i top notch conditions and fallow a very strict maintenace schedule..evern in nam the hueys received 1 hr of service ater 5 hrs of flight in the middle of the war....plus the flight crew i.e the pilots were highly trained on the type...so in the kenyan tragic accidents..it's either the kenya airforce is not following the maintenance schedule due to lack of qulified mechanics or spare parts or there are no skilled pilots to fly the type
Its a shame ,cheap minds will never understand but whoever did what they did has literally exposed Kenya in a bad way keep that in mind sad indeed and cheap
This were the same helicopters used by the us during Vietnam war and the cold war then in 2017 they give it to the Kenya since then many pilots have lost their lives
Oh yes or even more depending on the type! eg the Super Puma they have can carry 20 people while the Mil-8 belonging to both the Airforce and the Kenya Police Airwing can take upto 30 people.
These helicopters are out of date and no country is using them. They last served in the Vietnam war in the 70s...Why is Kenya still flying these out of date choppers?!
This general exposed himself obeying stupid orders to board a half centuries old chopper to go open classrooms in a war zone. Accompanied by junior officers. At least should have travelled with two the one could've responded real time to the emergency.
I disagree with your viewpoint. My criticism lies with the United States for supplying outdated military equipment to African nations, ostensibly as a condition for receiving aid and for the benefit of military contractors.
😂 So we blame US for donating beat up helicopters for free to a broke government that uses them and can't maintain them effectively, that's beggars belief.

Media of kenya you know everything...go on and tell us more to come

Haha, there are no traffic police for helicopter?
But was the pilot properly and eroplanes engineers trained and checked well.

We need to stop taking this American mitumbas

Good reporting. My heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and our motherland kenya
Good insightful research and reporting
With out spare parts. This is a dangerous equipment.
For me I just hated this helicopter at first sight. It looks a foolish and stupid helicopter. Built by idiots.
Its an old school chopper first produced in 1956.
Hizo siku choppers were in their infancy stages.
Bell Helos has now killed two Luo Generals, Oyite Ojok in Uganda and CDF Ogolla. The accidents are similar. Crash after take off
And another Luo of South Sudan Dr. John Garang De Mabior
My question is why do we still struggle using these Vietnam era helicopters. They should be scrapped and replaced
Do we have investigators in Kenya? Or investigation is just a name in the security.

Oz you don't have any. 3rd world mitumba.😮
@@zippyjepps2750 We have the Chinese Harbin Z WHICH HAVE NEVER CRASHED. That says a lot even the president trusts and uses those rather than the Hueys
Africa will always ask for cheap low quality things to save money to do nothing

but burning means it had some fuel, why it ignited. my view though

Is the cheapest helicopter in US military and only used sparingly and no longer authorized for use in combat.
Its a shame ,cheap minds will never understand but whoever did what they did has literally exposed Kenya in a bad way keep that in mind sad indeed and cheap
These helcopters owned by kenya airfoce are precambrian and outmoded. The government should style up and purchase better copters.
Why can't they use Newer models n types like Eurocopter or Notar helicopter
Watu wanakula pesa ya kununua ndege mpya wanaendea mitumba.
Remember Anglo-leasing?
pole zana lakini Mugu anajua
It was said in 3mnth all investigation Will be sorted...its now 5mnth almost 6mnth will alot of quite....
Ooh rest in peace ogolla it is really painful❤
This were the same helicopters used by the us during Vietnam war and the cold war then in 2017 they give it to the Kenya since then many pilots have lost their lives
Is it allowed to carry so many people 14 like matatu
Oh yes or even more depending on the type! eg the Super Puma they have can carry 20 people while the Mil-8 belonging to both the Airforce and the Kenya Police Airwing can take upto 30 people.
Yevgeny prighozin was so comfortable after trying to enter Kremlin until it was no longer so
Chuck Noris used this one long time ago

It's not a priority to Zackayo, he is now in affordable housing and his senior officers are dying in the air.
This general exposed himself obeying stupid orders to board a half centuries old chopper to go open classrooms in a war zone. Accompanied by junior officers. At least should have travelled with two the one could've responded real time to the emergency.
These choppers are outdated ... they were most used in the Vietnam war.
I wonder why Kenya received old helicopters which were used in the 1950's. We can only blame the government on the accident.

Poverty is a big issue in African countries.

Hata ndege ya mitumba tunapewa.
Such accident, the main cause is due to pinching the pipe of petrol.
the huey is out of service in most country militaries though...we need newer helicopters....though more expensive to acquire there are more reliable
RIP ogolla...
