If you had to decide wether you take the Philips LatteGo 5500 or the DeLonghi Eletta Explore Hot & Cold. What would be your decision and why?
Both of the machines seem to be really strong. Are there some explicit reasons to get one or the other?
Many thanks for your very good product presentations and the technical background!

Hi there! The brewing unit in the Delonghi Eletta is larger and capable of making a stronger-tasting beverage in a single cycle. The software and materials are also superior to the Philips 5500. The Philips 5500 is capable of making most of the same beverages and also offers an extra shot feature, which allows for a second shot to be added into any beverage. This feature allows you to increase the strength of any beverage to compensate for the smaller brewing unit capacity. Overall, considering the price, the Philips 5500 would be our choice. It is almost 50% less expensive than the Delonghi Eletta and can achieve similar results.

I have this exact machine. I’ve found it easy to use as you demonstrate. I’m very disappointed in the coffee produced. The coffee is weak and the foam is too. I was told the machine has to adjust. I’ve tried different settings and made multiple cups of coffee. Any advice? What milk makes the best foam in this machine? I’m ready to return it.

      Thank you for reaching out.
The concerns you are sharing are not defects. I can certainly assist you with making some adjustments to obtain the best results with the machine.
      Video demo - ruclips.net/video/CZYZG36JicQ/видео.html
      A) The grinder setting is essential, level 4 to 5 is best for the units.
      B) Secondly, using non-oily beans are very important as well.
      C) Max out the strength setting when preparing a beverage, this will inform the machine to grind the maximum amount for that specific beverage, yielding a bold and strong-tasting beverage.
      D) If you prefer stronger beverages, we suggest using a nonoily dark roast bean, here is our locally roasted Intenso dark roast option - www.consiglioskitchenware.com/products/consiglios-super-intenso-bold-premium-fresh-roast-espresso-22-lbs
Once you make the adjustment to the grinder as outlined in the video, you will need to make numerous espressos to have that grind change take place and improve the quality of beverages (and pucks). Once you make about 10 espressos, you will then see the puck consistency holding together in the waste container.
Please make the adjustments outlined above, they will optimize the beverage quality.

What’s the best grinder setting for espresso, 5400 optimal was 4/12. Is the same for this 5500 series as well

    • @Consiglioskitchenware
      @Consiglioskitchenware  2 месяца назад +1

We like to set the grinder in the middle and use the doser setting to increase or decrease the strength. You can test a dark roast if you are looking for a stronger flavour like our Super Intenso - www.consiglioskitchenware.com/products/consiglios-super-intenso-bold-premium-fresh-roast-espresso-22-lbs
If you still find that you want a stronger flavour keep moving to a finer setting until you achieve the strength and flavour of your liking.

Williams-Sonoma appears to have exclusivity for this machine in the US. Why would Philips agree to this? Would probably already own one if they hadn't. Thank you for the how-to. I hope one day, maybe when the exclusivity agreement terminates, to put it to use.

Why would you want to buy this when you can get the premium version called the Saeco Xelsis Suprema for the same price.. The Suprema has an 8 inch touchscreen, wifi enabled, more drinks, more profiles, better milk frothing and comes in stainless steel or titanium..

Hey there, you could add very cold water into the water tank.
When the units makes iced beverages, the water from the water tank does not enter the heating element of the machine.
      Thanks.
