Brian Jones on slide guitar makes this song absolutely tops in R&B
First time had ever heard slide guitar ,and at 11 yrs. old -it put it's hooks in me , for life.
You know it!!
That's a Dobro or Miss National.
Best member of the Rolling Stones by far..
Open G tuning
Brian Jones and Charlie Watts at their brilliant best.
Indeed. Brian absolutely smashed it on the slide guitar and Charlie nailed it with his impeccable timing and precision.
RIP Brian Jones and Charlie Watts. Keep rocking the blues in heaven!
Jamming with Neil Peart and Hendrix. Sweet!
@@JeffreyWilliams-dr7qe You got that right there brother!
satanic majesties cannot play blues in heaven
Brian Jones is a legend. Beautiful slide. Genius.
Thats the real stones
Ian Gillman :The best Stones record ever, I bought it in '65. Brian Jones was an incredible multi Instrumentalist and the real musician . A tragedy his band mates did not protect him more.
... this one deserves more attention
Thank you Charlie for all those beautiful days!
Brilliant blues raw stones keep rolling on
I'm 22 & I'm so in love with the Stones 🥰
Los stones uno de los grandes grupos
Refreshing to hear from a 22 year old that loves the Stones and real blues and rock and roll!
Ain't no peace in the farmyard now the The Little Red Rooster is gone...
Love ya..
Jumpin J
What a line! Ain’t it!?
It was barnyard originally (howling wolf)
great version blues.. the guitar slide is very premium ...
Brian was in the band first but he was pushed out as front man by Mick and also Keith. He got depressed, took way too many drugs and that was it. They told him he was out. Maybe he drowned or maybe somebody helped him drown. Tragic either way. A natural talent for music was he.
Yes, indeed he was a great musician and talent.
Wonderful musician but couldnt write songs
Fragile creature ,shame on particular Mick and Keef for their manipulation of this childman 😢
When Andrew Loog Oldham became their manager, he changed the whole dynamic of the Stones. His part in undermining Brian Jones can not be ignored. He wanted the band to write and perform original music, not just blues covers.
R.i.p.Charlie Watts
In the early sixtiest, it was clear, that they were already completly talenten!!
talented
completely
Charlie will be missed. Him and Brian are so smooth on this track. They’re all at their best here. Love it. Thanks Willie Dixon for the time and Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters for the influence.
For the tune.
Get it
I love the blues. This Stones track is brilliant!❤
The best song on a great album!
What album is that friend?
@@gordongreenaway4549 NOW!
Brian Jones einfach genial
It's 2:17am Sydney,Australia time. Just had to revisit this gem. It's a deep need😌😌😌😌😌 Can't let it go. Ain't no peace in the farmyard since my little red rooster been gone. Great lyric or what!!!
Hello there fellow Sydney sider......it is indeed a gem ! xxx
I am 23 years old and I love the blues. every genre of music was birthed by these blues!!
This is great to hear. Most people your age don't appreciate the Stones. The Stones will always be #1
Yeahh ! Good for you !
One of their best and most authentic Chicago blues covers...this is where they proved their blues pedigree and Mick doesn't seem to be imitating or signing w/affectation, just singing the blues in his own inimitable way!
I don't wanna be a shmuck here...though Howlin Wolf spent his adult years in Chicago he happens to be an icon of Delta Blues.
RIP, Charlie Watts, you were our darling.
My first LP bought in Bogota , Colombia in 1974, My favorite sung then. I AM 73 now. Good music and Good old times😢😢😢
Thanks. Best recording of it that I've heard.
same here
One of the sexiest songs stones did.
Especially at a concert live💕
Great classic blues ,beam me up Brian
What a classic!!!!
One of the first Stones songs I heard along with a bunch of other covers and originals.
Fresh clean heads do amazing things....
This, of course, is an old blues standard, and they make a very good job of it. The track is greatly enhanced by Brian Jones' slide guitar and it reflects the group's development.
A very good job !? Go on let yourself go
Its totally superb for a young white band to doing the blues
They were told don't record this ut will kill you
It went to number 1 Brian's playing accompanied by charlies simple but steady beat make it
Very good no its truly amazing
@@andrewjohnstone963Always the Rebels. Huh! Huh! Am I Right?
@JeffreyWilliams-dr7qe rebels without a cause
Oh one cause to seriously outstay their welcome
@@andrewjohnstone963 You it in fewer words than I have. Finally!
The Stones can do the Blues better than anyone.... Fact!
No. Google "Luther Allison Little Red Rooster" and see what true excellence is.
Howlin Wolf disagrees
….however, Stones still do this justice. Hats off to real music 😎
The mud for me me but the stones lisened to Jimmy Reed everyday well Brianand Keith dad
*just as good , but they lost their signature bluesy edge when they lost Brian Jones . He was the blues
Thank you
My "ROLLING STONES, NOW" is in Mono. Man! What a difference in Stereo! This is like night and day, the Quality!
This is the one pre "Aftermath" London album that actually contains some true stereo on it. It's actually in partial stereo.
Thank you groove addict for this posting, and especially for the excellent audio quality.
THE GOOD VOICE OF MICK, YEAH MAN KEEP ON STRAIGHT AHEAD ✌✌✌
The FULLNESS ON THIS IS LIKE SOMETHING OFF LED ZEPPELIN 1. YET HERE WE ARE. THESE EARLY STONES PRODUCTIONS..THIS...MERCY MERCY...THUNDEROUS.
my favorite song ❤
The first blues record I ever bought.
Who thinks how blues gets diferentes styled even in every country
Everything came out of the blues .
❤️ Brian 🎸♥️
I really like jaggers harmonicia playing.
OK, early sixties.. the Beatles, ..so, so great. Did love them but then heard this song with the Rolling Stones on the Red Skelton tv Show. OH MY!! I was seriously hooked. Had one Beatles album (White Album), but had eight Stones albums. Sorry Beatles, love you but when I'm chillin', Stones all the way.
From this to all the utter shite after 74 its sad the stones before this date were superb after pathetic never recorded anything worthwhile after 74
Emotional rescue Steel wheels etc truly pathetic
But this is right on the money prolific singles band 60s into early 70s but sorry it should have stopped there ✌️❤️🕊
Perfect Stones. So evocative!
They make it sound so easy....it's anything but
I love ❤️ 🎉this song ❤️ 🎵 💕, they always put out a vast variety of amazing 🎵 🎶. It brings back memories and good times 🎉🎉. A glimpse into the success of the best rock band in the world 🌎
I also love this song in SW Florida in 2024 Rebecca. Nothing like this old stuff to put the smile back on your face.❤🎉❤
Top notch music, blues and sound performance! 👍😎❤️
😁🎶❤😁💋...Thank you 👍...Thank You Lord ✝️ for the Tingles 🙏❤✝️
The first time I heard this song was on this album. Along with 'Down the Road a Piece'. Oh those great 60s'.
Make my day....
Man, must be at least 35 years since I listened to this pearl of a cover. Like Nevets Arzaz said in a reply to a posted comment further down, da boys certainly did it justice. I first heard this circa 1966 when I was a wee lad of 8. This started my journey of blues that continues to this day. I didn't know it was a Howlin' Wolf original at the time. And the rest as they say is history. I don't plan to end my journey anytime soon👌👌👌👌👌👌👌 I've heard a few covers but I might give it to the Stones, only by a nose though, over Luther Allison and Otis Rush for example.
Willie Dixon arranged and wrote. First popular recording was of course the inimitable Howlin' Wolf in 1961. What made Keith a genius was his knack for hooks like Brown Sugar and Jumpin Jack Flash.
Authentic Rolling Stones sound ,very very nice !!! 🔝🔝🔝
Anyone else feel like they’re in a fuckin sim while listening legit a goddamn dream songs badass
Brian Jones para sempre e sempre
Eu amo Rock
\\o//
Charlie Watts❤❤ 💕
This ones for you mr watts.
Absolutely brilliant blues inspired song from the Rolling Stones.
It IS a blues song written - by Willie Dixon, (tho' the 'rooster' theme goes back a long way), and first recorded by Stones' favourite, Howlin' Wolf. BTW - I agree it's a brilliant track!
Absolutely great as so as Walkin' the Dog xxxx
Brian Jones❤❤ 💕💕 cool😎 love❤❤ beautiful❤❤❤
❤forever love
Encore une pure MERVEILLE !!!!!
The stones were a great band😮
They still are #1
Are not were
Here in 2021.
Brian Jones... and the rolling stones.
Such a cool, smooth song.
Great codec
Unlike some iconic ,history altering band -The Stones played their own instruments from the start.
As well as many others, I have a Stones compilation. And this is NOT on it! Remember this when it was released. Still sounds wonderful!
Oh yeah
All i can say is F***** WOW
GOT IT BLASTING IN HANNAGANS BAR!!!
I DARE ANYBODY TO COME UP BETTER!!!!!!
sweet
Jagger one hell of a harp player. Wish he would do more.
Pourquoi, pourquoi Clapton n'a t'il jamais en solo interprété ce petit bijou?..... C'est tout à fait à sa mesure !!
Entusiasmati questi rolling stones del passato ❤😂
Thanks for your reply. As I say it was a mixture of things. a combination coming together at a specific time in history. Do you notice when the brass is added on how it ramps it up again? It is said of Brian Jones that he could pick up nearly any instrument, muck about with it for ten minutes then be able to knock out a tune.
Say what you want there are rock and roll bands and there are the Rolling Stones I say no more
You said it so well
@@SusanPalmer-rh5si thank you
It sounds like two Brian Jones’ playing dual slide guitar.
Cool
Patriotism is a strange thing. Tribalism is worse. Why me ?
Just because I think I can save you - doesn’t mean I can save me. It’s in the job description, the head hunter. Magic
Echt gefuehlvoll gespielt...ein tolles bluesstueck❤❤
without jones there is no stones
Mick taylor was good too.
That’s a bit cliche at this point. I’ve been a fan since 1967 and was a member of the Brian Jones fan club as a kid. But you know Brian was talented and gave them a lot but he was very destructive to himself and others. It’s too bad he could’ve still been along for the ride. But they had some unbelievable albums with Mick Taylor. Sticky Fingers to Its Only Rock And Roll. Mind you I love Black and Blue too which is Woodys first studio album with them.
the mona liza of the blues (white , black or any other colour )
Rose Marie de hut loves the rollings since 1964 when not faded colombia f b s a
dont get a lot better
heard the mistake @1:40? rewind it a bit further if you need to. Brian I believe might've messed it up. Either that or Mick went to sing the line a bit too early bc you can just hear Brian on that slide try to catch up.
Isso não gravação original, não existe é mono, é adepto de uma loja virtual de produtos de uma empresa que trabalha com venda de produtos em geral no site da loja virtual.
Great catch
For the record Brian played slide guitar and harmonica. Mick just stood there and sang
MMMMMMMM
Would love to hear "goin' home" by the Stones -17+ minutes long 😊
it's done enjoy!! : ruclips.net/video/IN6kEynFxTw/видео.html
I've never heard this version of this song. Great!!
Why are the left and right slide guitar melodies different?
How did you get this version?
this is a disc that I bought a long time ago, it may be due to the recording which at the time may have been botched..
don't know I bought this album when I was 17 so I wasn't really interested in this recording at the time the recordings were still in mono for the most part ... if you want I can give you the link if you want to download it, but I need an email address.
Should have panned the vocals in the centre it’s distracting, but still great
good song. by the way, the best slide guitarist ever is Alan Wilson, the blind owl
AFTER BRIAN JONES HAD DIED/OR MURDERED AS THE TRUTH CAME OUT AS TO HOW HE DIED.THE ROLLING STONES GOT ERIC CLAPTON TO APPEAR IN SOME OF THEIR LIVE SHOWS TO PLAY THIS SONG & PLAY THE SLIDE PART.
Nice codec sound is klipsch
Not the last stones track to be buffed up. Lighter touch perhaps boys.
Mine
is there a specific genre for this sound or is it just blues-rock? I would love to hear more songs like this
Listen to more early Stones, and their influences
It's known as country blues.
Was Brain Jones death there Cross Roads to fame @ fortune ????
