Hey mate I just stumbled across your channel, and am working my way through it good so far. I to am a Falcon station wagon fan. I have an XY S/W that I started to install RRS front suspension , its not finished yet, sigh, its turned into a bit of a storage unit as these things can do. One day it'll be done. Keep up the good work, cheers from NZ. Phil
Cheers mate! And yeah, i narrowly missed out on a plum of a console in little river last week on facebook marketplace. I may resort to a half decent one and go down the refurb route. Even half decent ones are in high demand!
Hi mate, sorry for the late reply. They’re seriously expensive. I think it was around 4K. For my car and my situation, I felt it was worthwhile and haven’t thought about the dollars since.
How much did the kit roughly cost you mate? I'm over the current setup, basically having the same issues as yourself. Especially with a bit of power pushing the car it can get sketchy
Hi mate, sorry I honestly thought I replied but clearly I haven’t! I don’t really like getting into money on RUclips too much as it tends to bring a slew of “my mate Hayden could’ve done it for $500 bucks” comments from the “others”. You probably don’t want to hear this but it’s astonishingly expensive stuff. Like I think I said in the video, it’s a forever car so I was happy to fork out for a forever fix. I still won’t go into exact dollars but if you can’t do any of it yourself (like me) then set aside up to 3k for the RRS supply and install. As for the Barra swap, I had to multiply that figure by about 4. People tend to lose their minds at that point but when you consider the engineering fees alone were well over $1000, you can see how it quickly adds up. New Disc brakes. Exhaust. Fuel tank. Fuel pump. Brake & fuel lines. Tension Seat belts. Cat converter. Tail shaft. ECU and Loom. BTR box. Yet to mention the actual Barra and labour. I know it’s frustrating not having detailed breakdowns of the costs (I’ve been there). I just rang suppliers for costs and mechanics for quotes and then started saving (and borrowing). Sounds like your ‘81 XD sedan is coming along nicely. Sorry again for not replying earlier! If you’re planning on keeping the XD for as long as you can, you won’t regret sinking money into it. If you’re planning on flipping it in a few years, you might not get your money back. In my case, I regret nothing and the car is a super reliable joy to drive in any conditions. Thanks heaps for watching 😎🤙
@@FuelBurnMedia I may have just purchased an XD windowless panel van going to have a final look tonight. Might need a steering upgrade to fix the old boat handling too 😂

I hear ya! I was on the fringe of being poor. Now I can confidently say there’s no doubt 😆

Thanks heaps Jo! 😎🤙
Fun and enjoyable video. I'm looking forward to seeing how things go.
Thanks heaps! Fingers crossed it all goes well!
Showed the old man this, convinced him to order the rack for his XY 👍
Hey that’s awesome! I’d be keen to know how you go!
@@FuelBurnMedia I will let you know when he gets it installed 👍
Loved your video. Straight to the point and entertaining.

Hey thanks heaps Phil! I'm keen to hear how you go with the XY mate :)
I've always referred to the falcon steering box as the suggestion box coz it doesn't always take notice of what you want it to do.
Ha! Bang on!
Very keen to hear your feedback. In regards to the console, there's a gent in Torquay that refurbs them if you find a semi decent one.

looked good cruising down the freeway today
Hey thanks mate! Calder?
@@FuelBurnMedia sure was mate heading towards Melbourne Such a nice looking car. It definitely catches the eye
How much do these kit's run for?.

Hey Matt, it’s big money mate. North of 4K. So it’s not for everybody. But I’ve not regretted it for a moment.
@@FuelBurnMedia Does that cost include the work done by the garage install?
How much to purchase and install please?
