Well this isn't how it should look at the end this is a plastic weld you sand the area and create a grove on the crack then melt hot plastic into the crack welding it to gather and on the top its pretty much just stapling hot metal into the plastic to hold it together then you would sand the top down and put bondo on on the crack to make it smoth and to hide the Staples then paint and blend it together then your car should look fine

Drift stitching look pretty cool, plus the term makes it seem like you did something cool. I did that to my old cruze after I hit a racoon, it looks better if you use stainless bailing wire.

I'm planning to fix a Jzx100 drift bumper on my Lexus LS400 1993-1998, so I'm thinking of cutting it into 4 pieces to extend and make It fit no one makes the bumpers so I gotta DIY
Not sure, but that doesn't look like it finished, I'm sure the wire are supposed for the other side, maybe there are some extra step to get the job done. Well, I dunno, just guessing.
This is not allowed in germany. We use them for the sensors at the front and back . We throw them away for safety reasons and put new ones on it or just replace the destroyed parts.
Your gonna have to get it welded or replace it. Replacing it would probably be safer, if the unfortunate happens and you wreck. You want your seats to stay in place, not eject you from the vehicle.

Just a heads up, you're meant to fix the crack from the inside so you dont make the outside look like shit
Yeah he made it from the outside so we could see what he does
but he could sand it away
If you cracked a painted part, you need to sand and repaint anyway unless you want it to *keep* looking like shit
@@ds50driver20 And then spray paint the entire part?
@@dennisbinkhorst2039 it's that or buying a completely new part
The crack would look better if you did it on other side then you will be able to paint the outside without those showing

Yep
Should be done on inside...then use Easy Sand on outside.
@@justinbombs955 you can't read very well can you.
You'd still have to body work the outside... Why bother going through the pain of that?

Absolutely genius. I wish I had something like this 20 years ago.

Or you could just use zip ties. A lot of people call it a "drifter's stitch" and they don't look half bad.

Clamp it together. Put a mesh screen behind it fill in with filler sand prime and paint.
Not hardly how it works
But ok if you want to half-ass it.
I love this new technique very good 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
To fix the look of the repair, I'd use a little bondo, sand, prime and paint.
