In the early 1990s, while other teenagers were falling in love with The New Kids on the Block, I was falling in love with Paul Janz. I still think his music is awesome!
A friend of mine from Canada introduced this artists music to me. It's a shame he never caught on here in the U.S. He's incredibly talented as a musician and songwriter AND, did you know he's now a professor of philosophy at the King's College in the UK? You don't get more well-rounded than that! God bless ya Paul!
Every time I listen to this the tears fly from my eyes and I literally break down emotionally. What a powerful ballad about unconditional love and the need to be needed. I think of the homeless of the world, the lonely, the poor and destitute, the sick, and especially the children of the street and those who are abused and abandoned. Pray for them please.
Such a great songwriter... still love hearing these tunes, especially the intricacies of the music. A lot of today's writers and composers could learn a lot from Paul Janz.
Thanks for posting. The sad part is that Paul Janz's 80s hits are not available on the Canadian iTunes. I am referring to songs like this one, Believe In Me, as well as Close My Eyes, and Every Little Tear. I am not sure why that's so - I am guessing the original music label and iTunes cannot reach agreement, or maybe it's just an oversight. I encourage anyone who liked his early music to send a request to iTunes to add the above songs.
This is great canadian music. I saw paul at canada 125 in ottawa. I wish he was still producing this great music. I can still remember the first time I hard this song.
There's no Paul Janz song that isn't awesome. And this is one of his best. Too bad he never made it as big as many less talented performers. I can't remember the last time I heard one of his songs on the radio. That's too bad.
"Believe in me, reach out with your heart, no power in the world will keep us apart ..." ... this is love. Paul's incredible love song still plays on the radio. I heard it this morning and found it again on You Tube. To watch him sing his love all out at the piano just grabs the heart. Does he even realize how much he is adored? Thanks for keeping the music playing. Evy
I keep sending this song to my wife in hopes that through the powerful words of this potently emotional ballad she will learn that I am worthy of better treatment and respect from her. There's no better song in the world to use when trying to reach someone you love and are so close to losing. Sadly, even through the beautiful melody and message, I'm afraid I've lost her...
Met this man in the market in Ottawa. I really loved talking to him. Truly one the best canadian artist in the 80's. I just wish all his music was posted. btw this was a love theme on Days of Our Lives ( Frankie and Jennifer)
@NatalieJanz Bless your heart. You must love your uncle very much; with every good reason. So does the rest of 'our' nation. Many way out east of Manitoba border. We love the 'west' more than politicians try to paint us as anti-west. Still listening to your Uncle's beautiful music; and everyone else from an hour or two or three, away.
Finally! I have been looking and looking for this song. I have to sing it, and I had no copy of it. Well, I've heard it on here (thank you!) and learned it after my one listen, and now I can do what some wonderful people asked me to do for them, Many thanks!

@62reasons I agree with you, I have always loved this song and his "Prayer" song, Paul has such a gorgeous voice.....wowwwww...absolutely gorgeous songs xoxo
Most of the kids at the end were my elementary class...but the year before I went to the school so I wasn't in it. Our teachers husband knew him or something, and she was big into the choir thing.
@NatalieJanz Been a big fan of Paul Janz since the start and while I knew he was part of Deliverance I didn't realize until your post and my subsequent wikipedia search that it was actually a brother act. I checked out your stuff Natalie, it sounds and looks great, best of luck!
