while I think for every issue TotK has, there are 2-3 things that the game does great, I think it's important we reflect and comment on what those issues are so that the Zelda team and all game devs can learn and do better.
The sky is a bummer though once you realize the coolest island is the great sky island. The rest are little one off islands or copy & pasted throughout the map, a lot of them with serving no purpose other than to help get to another area of the sky with little more than sunshrooms and various berries etc.. occasionally one will have sages will. If they had every sky island have a shrine or something to do I’d be more impressed but sadly some once you land on them you realize there’s nothing there at all and they’re basically a scenic rest stop for you to build a device to get to the next island. I’m not hating bc yes the entire overworld as a whole is amazing but the sky to me (after 40-50+ hours of gameplay) is rarely a place I’ll even spend any time in anymore unless I’m farming gleeok parts or faries
I definitely can agree with this criticism. I do wonder if the sky is purposely emptier to not crowd the sky. Since gliding from up high and looking down is such an important part of the game. There are more ‘empty’ islands than there probably should be though.
The hate is completely unjustified. I’ve seen people stretch 2 flaws into a 40 minute essay trying to justify how those outweigh the previously unseen number of positives this game has. It is the best game ever made, and people are stupid. There is not a single person that, if unbiased, would actually hate this game. The nostalgics and sheep just tricked themselves into thinking it’s bad.
Glad you enjoyed it. I could literally rant for hours about how much I hated it. I put in 200+ hours. Left feeling thoroughly dissatisfied and disappointed.
@@arbbr9397 rant about fake things that are purely subjective rather than the superior objective summary method? Rant about the two real flaws with the game on repeat while also failing to elaborate? I’m good at countering these, go for it.
The game is good, but I have no interest to ever play it again. Which is weird because have done at least four playthroughs of botw, with one being a hundred percent playthrough. I will likely play it again before long. Cant say the same for totk though, for whatever reason.
the thing is, people were disapointed because the wait was too long and the game was just botw part 2, now when people feel disapointed with a game every flaw is magnified instead of overlooked and rationalized, the next one will feel fresher and probably garner more good will

ikr I wish there were more islands like that and the thunderhead islands.
