Still crying over Federer at 2009. It was great to see him finally archive that victory at Roland Garros, the emotion from both him and the public was amazing!
I feel your emotions buddy. As a Rafa fan, I can relate similar emotions to the 2008 Wimby win. And I am sure Rafa was one of the first 10 people to congratulate Federer after his 2009 win. :)
One of most emotional moments I saw at the French was 2015 when Djoko lost to Stan warwrinka. He lost and the crowd cheered for Djoko for many , many minutes. Djoko was losing. It. The reaction from crowd was special. They know Djoko had been in many French open finals. And lost.
No Guga? Wow.. wow 😮 When Guga won his first RG he was unseeded... that’s pretty fucking crazy. Also he fought from 2-1 down in sets vs the champ in the QF and then drew a heart and laid in it + the crowd loved him. Deserves a spot over Steffi’s mellow celebration
Guga grew up on clay, just like Rafa. And he won it 3 times. Not exactly a shocker or greater moment than any of these listed. Maybe top 10, but not even close to these that were chosen. It's about the context of the individual winning this particular GS at that particular time in their lives that makes it special.
No way Kuerten’s saibro’s heart is not among the top 5. He was almost leaving the circuit due to a hip injury. That was the ultimate conquer where it all started back at 97...
Guga was only 20 years old, number 66 in the world, had never won a single ATP title, and there were three former champions in good shape (Kafelnikov, Thomas Muster and Sergi Brugera). It was more exciting and less expected than 4 of those choices and it did deserve to be on the list.
When Agassi gave the trophy to Federer, he told him: "I was once in your shoes. I know how hard it is to win this tournament. I know the feeling. Cry away, my man. I did."
Federer has always been an emotional person. He's not one to hide his feelings. He cries and laughs quite readily. That's why he's such a loved champion.
Roger's brings a tear to my eye whenever I see it. I am a big sportsfan who follows several sports very closely and Roger's French Open win is my favorite sporting moment ever.
Agassi's victory is by far the most emotional. I was 11 at that time and, whilst I didn't know his story this much, I could see it was not just a tennis player achieving something he had worked for and dreamt of for a long time. I still don't know the details of his life that well but the story I see is the one of a young man that didn't really want to but was forced to become a tennis player. He became one of the best, was every where on medias but he had no real goal and ended up lost in his life. He was #141 in 1997 and it was not due to injuries. I don't know how much he worked to come back but it doesn't matter : this victory was a sign. That is why you can't compare it with the other victories in the video, by far. It is more than a simple title, more than an athlete winning again after losing someone, it was a fucking sign that meant "you have/will finally find yourself and be happy". It is one of the best moments in sports history!
And the love story between him and Steffi is a rather good one! Especially for me : both my favorite players winning and ending up together... Watching her again reminded me why the 10yo me had a crush : smiling eyes, spontaneous as a child, a strong woman that will just dump you right away if you misbehave... oh Steffi... I guess the first time Agassi ended up in bed with her he couldn't sleep and shed a tear staring at her hair, understanding what she was going to mean to him. Conclusion : go HBO! It is the perfect time for a mini-series! Avoid to much violin, do something clever and universal. You got all the ingredients for a great work of art!
That emotion from Agassi, from 3:51 to 3:54, is my favorite part of this sport. It's like when Garbiñe Muguruza won Wimbledon. Look at her face for the two seconds immediately after realizing she won. I love that.
Where is Thomas Muster? If you read his backstory after being almost incapable of playing tennis further due to getting hit by a car driven by a drunken dude in Key Biscayne and the hard work from recovering from that incident and winning RG should at least yield a honorable mention IMO!
One of most emotional moments I saw at the French was 2015 when Djoko lost to Stan warwrinka. He lost and the crowd cheered for Djoko for many , many minutes. Djoko was losing. It. The reaction from crowd was special. They know Djoko had been in many French open finals. And lost.

Even though Nadal has won the French 8 times. I think his greatest moment is still beating Roger Federer at the 2008 Wimbledon final. His French wins were easy wins.
You'd surely have to say that Agassi's victory resonates higher on the emotional scale than Federer's? Fair enough that both wins meant a career grand-slam for each player, but Agassi had just climbed back to the top of men's tennis after being beyond the bottom and perhaps had every right to think that he may never get the chance to win a title he blew consecutive chances at all the way back in 1990 and 1991. THE HEART ON THE COURT - GUGA x CORRETJA 2001 Where is it ???
Andre is the most charismatic tennis player ever… followed by Roger and Steffi of course :)
No 2013 Rafa ? Being out almost an entire year having doubts if he'd even be competitive or let alone if he'd be able to play again and comes back in his first slam to win it like he did ? That wasn't one of the more emotional moments ? I know RG hates Rafa but this is just silly. Just because Rafa won nearly all of them doesn't make his less emotional.
Noooo ..This is not fair -_- Rafael Nadal victory in 2012 was the most emotional moment in tennis history ... Hate the person who make this video
Gaudio vs Coria, 2004 Final!!!
Where is Guga? He drew a heart on the floor after he won. That was an emotional final too.
Great effort put into this video but it's kinda v ludicrous without Nadal being apart of this. His shear dominance at this event i believe demands it.
His sheer dominance is exactly why he did NOT belong in the video at the time it was made. You could argue that his 10th win had emotional resonance, given his comeback, but the rest really didn't.
