Born and raised 27 years in milford and it sucks this state sucks too! Nothing special about milford at all and it's over populated like hell
Goodvibes? I don’t think so. If you don’t like Milford you should move away. Like far, far away
Go to Florida.
I've lived in Milford for 19 years and it's been a great place to live with miles of empty beaches, quiet neighborhoods, no crime to speak of, and an overall high standard of living, no slummy areas, as opposed to overly developed and congested places like S. Norwalk where I used to live.
I lived in Milford in the 80's. I miss the bars, Jake's, The Red Arrow, The Star Cafe and Nick & Neil's.
So you remember Kimberlys? The Bridgeport Flyer? Bess Eaton? Toms Deli? The Luncheonette? Those were THE DAYS.
My friends father was unrelated brother of the owner I believe Nick, he was heavy set and I remember him breaking the toilet seat haha
Don't forget the beach comber on Melba Street
Lived in Milford ct since for over 50 yrs and still loveing it would never go anywhere else , school s are great and so is everything else including the people living here thanks for listening 👂 🎉🎉
I was born in Milford in 1950, lift in 1969 God do I miss Milford.
Milford ct is not perfect , but is still a beautiful town to live in these days with great people beaches and schools 🎉🎉🎉
I live here and I love it
Mom told me the story of a poor lady where developers bought up the land on the coast and forced her out of her own property and eventually knocking down her home...she finally tried to fight for her rights and ended up on the property in a trailer. How they got her out I think was to do with raising her taxes to the point she couldnt pay. What a world full of ruthless people. Developers are the worst. She says they ruined the entire coastline, used to be able to see the ocean right next to you as you drove...for 17 miles, not anymore.
Your mom is right. Her name was Delores, otherwise known as the chicken lady. She lived in a trailer and had chickens at silver sands beach after they took her house by use of eminent domain along with many others. She eventually died and they quickly removed the trailer. She was a living icon for the city of Milford. I remember riding my bike past her trailer when I was a kid while playing at the beach.
I grew up right up the road off east broadway.
The beaches are a great place to live by. Like Walnut Beach, Gulf Beach and Hillside avenue.
I grew up @ Silver Sands. Walking out to Charles Island was always a fun time.
I was born, raised and live in Milford for most of my life. People here are wonderful. If you thought they were rude then you met the wrong people.
Pumpkin delight/east shore/foran hs here. 23 year resident. Came back to visit and couldn’t have been more let down.
You sound nice though. Thanks for watching 🙂
@@601TRAVELS Sorry to hear that. I'm a PDS kid, too! What year did you graduate?
2000 - you?
@@601TRAVELS ouch.. Ruby left you on read
We moved here a few years ago to raise our family. It's an amazing town with wonderful people!
Is the rent expensive?
@@eastboyinc6873Very expensive
I’ve been to Milford many times, it’s wonderful here
Spend more time there. You’ll see it for yourself.
Nice another awesome video have a wonderful weekend 👍👍❤️❤️
I grew up here. I wouldn't change anything about it all. The town is up and coming and gaining an independent night life with bars, breweries and countless restaurants. You must be a small town kind of guy. Why don't you just quietly move to your small town rural area and stop giving bad press to a town thats clearly too good for you. if youre talking money, go a few towns over to Fairfield county. Milford is average wealth and very safe.
I grew up here too until my mid 20s. Changed a lot and not for the good. Building on every patch of grass they can find. It’s really sad.
@@601TRAVELS Actually its a good thing. More revenue in to the city, more businesses opening up. The town really came together through COVID supporting a lot of these businesses. That's not the case in other places. Oh, and I forgot to mention- the largest coastline in New England, 17 miles! You won't find that anywhere else.
@@601TRAVELS This is the one thing you have said I will agree on - and I agree it is sad.
Thank you, i am going to move there.
Best of luck to you! Lived in woodmont and silver sands for 20 years. Enjoyed my time there and made great memories but it seems like it’s changed a lot recent. Which part are you moving to? Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe for more city drives 👍🏻🙂
I’ve lived all over the country and can honestly say that Milford is wonderful. I’m baffled why you’d be so negative about this lovely town. It’s quaint, close to New Haven and Yale, on the NYC train line, has amazing beaches, and the people are genuinely wonderful. The downtown area is charming and there’s a Costco, TJs and even a Whole Foods nearby. My bias aside, the housing market here is red hot - so clearly I’m not the only one that sees Milford for what it is: a remarkable town with a big heart!
@@eriklundh8645 I am glad you are enjoying Milford. I grew up there, living off East Broadway and in Woodmont by East Shore for almost 20 years. I also just went back to do this video and revisit places that I used to frequent.
I know all and plenty about Milford. It has changed so much, been built up so much and is full of the type of people who are elitists. It is not the same. Crime is up, taxes are off the charts, the real estate that you call red hot is nothing more than overpriced and unreal.
Being close to New Haven and Bridgeport isn't a good thing either as that is where most of the criminals come from. Anyway, I'm glad you like it. You can have it! Thank you for watching my video.
I lived in Woodmont also, but Milford is a bit racist. Most people wouldn't know that unless you are not white.
@@601TRAVELS omg I thought I was alone
Milfords beautiful.. . People are overly friendly... A City where nobody’s a stranger. Get out of the car and walk the beaches. Can’t interact just driving
Couldn’t stop at any of the beaches without paying an out of town fee. Not the way it used to be. Milford used to be friendly, now it’s just overpriced and stuck up. Having lived there for over 20 years I was glad as I drove away.
@@601TRAVELS Sorry you feel that way. I've lived here all my life and you probably went to school with some relative of mine. Not sure when you came back, but if it was during the pandemic, they closed the beaches to out of towners because they were being overrun with kids who were not social distancing. Unfortunately a lot of people from other states have moved here recently and not all are friendly. Glad you've found some place you prefer, but please don't bash Milford because it doesn't live up to your memories.
That’s a very nice place in Milford Connecticut.
Ridgefield, Connecticut
I went to Milford CT Post Mall.
You are just driving....missing so much .....Where the original Capital Movie Theater was.....Izze's news stand.... Wolfes bakery......
Things that made Milford a small town and special.
I went by the original capitol theatre. Prob will build condos there soon. Just like on every other piece of green there.
You hit a couple of nostalgia triggers for me ! Affordable movies at the Capitol were the best - don’t think I missed even one, living a 15 min walk from there as a kid. My lifelong love of cinema started there. And it was another world when a small shop filled with fresh stacks of newspapers was the hub of town ! Izzie was on a first name basis with almost everyone, including my Dad, as we’d buy our Sunday paper there faithfully. Before Covid hit I’d go to Cafe Atlantique often and would easily slip back into the memory of the old Fladd’s music shop where I bought some of my first classic rock albums as a teen. It definitely had the feel of a small town when you lived near downtown. I moved back to Orange ten years ago and still love going to Milford regularly. No complaints here - despite all the real estate developments it’s still alright by me !
I'm twenty-seven and I live not too far away and I still visit Milford to see people. I didn't feel it was so bad. I met lots of caring people and, yes, a few rude ones, but this happens anywhere. There are some parts of Milford that are run down and poor looking, but that's a different problem.
I left Milford in 2003 and came back to visit when I took this video.. the whole vibe was just night and day to me. I enjoyed seeing the old sights but so much has changed. I guess it had to, but they just seemed to build and build on every piece of grass they could find. I lived on Silver Sands and in Woodmont and have really great memories of both. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. I appreciate it!
@@601TRAVELS Maybe, my age plays into how much I like it, but you're welcome.
grew up in milford. moved out yrs ago the town has grown to a wannabe fairfield county. if it weren't for my family id never go back.
Love the coast line.
It is beautiful.. Too bad its so expensive!
Born in Bridgeport and lived in Milltown for 30 years... while I agree Milford has alot of improvements needed, it sure as he'll beats Bridgeport where I actually watched my neighbor Freddy stab to death his wife in the road after dragging her out by the hair cuz he was a alcoholic
My biggest gripe is the judicial system, theirs is the kind that as long as a charge is levied, you owe, guilt or innocence makes no difference unless you know the judge or prosecutors. The community leadership has traditionally been progressive but only in the ways that benefit the politician. Property rights mean nothing, police are corrupt, taxes are meh, and the employment opportunities are nepotonistic. Great place if your family has lived here for generations, you can literally get away with moyduh
daughter grew up in Milford.
I am sorry that you have had such an unhealthy experience. You have to just take care of yourself.
Milford is nice, but I still rather live in Compton.
Whatever you do, don’t move to New York City.
Too bad all those people from nyc are moving to Milford.
@@601TRAVELS that’s disappointing New Yorkers ruin everything it’s a shame.
I want to move to Compton.
Where my dad courted mom, the gazebo, the beaches and the green
Idk but Milford is actually nice unless you encounter some bad apple or just naive and negative. And I’m not even from there 🙄
Speaking from personal experience.
Let me make me make this crystal clear I was release from the program. Moved to Columbus House release there over one thing yet others stay out 4 or 5 extra. That why I chose to state not affiliated.
NEED SOME TALK
You don’t want to hear what I have to say about how much Milford has changed.
I live in Milford & love it!
Uh Milford is pretty chill
It’s a beautiful place but has its demons being squeezed between two drug city’s.
Bridgeport and new haven! You aren’t lying!
@@601TRAVELS it’s the quiet little secret in that town.

Shit town.
@@601TRAVELS why do you live there? 🤣
I don’t anymore. 20 years was enough 😂
@@601TRAVELS we are looking at this town with my girlfriend. how? is it safe?
Taxes, congestion, snobby people, expensive rents, expensive homes, crime, right in between Bridgeport & New Haven... Not as charming as they make it seem!
I'll admit the people in Milford are colossal jerks but I was born and raised there so there is no place in the world I'd rather be. Also you drove past the houses of 30 of my relatives in this video.
Where did you go to school? Foran 00’ here.
This pretty much sums up the issue with Milford
I live in milford
Thank you for watching
I need to get my ass out of this town ASAP!
Thanks for watching! Please be sure to subscribe for more 😀
Who are you jace? Lulz
I hadn't noticed the title, but when I saw the comments I took a second look. I see that your indictment stems from a Wikipedia Entry?
The 'about Milford' is from Wikipedia, yes. I went back up to Milford about a year ago (when I did these videos) and I was really bitter about it. Milford changed a lot and the people seemed really different, too. It just wasn't the same.
Milford is a city
Live in Milford now. The town is fine, you are going a bit overboard. People are alright, good schools, nice area, lotsa history if that’s your thing, etc.
Cool deal. What part of Milford? I grew up in silver sands beach but also lived in woodmont.
601 TRAVELS lived in a few parts, lived near golf beach, along with Near Orange Ave elementary. It’s not perfect but it’s definetely a good option in coastal ct.
Definitely agree. Lived there from 81-2003 and can’t believe how much it’s changed.
@@601TRAVELS Literally everywhere changes a ton over 22 years unless it's in the middle of nowhere.
Jimmy’s A pizza
Jimmy’s! Johnny’s best! So much good pizza in Milford.
@@601TRAVELS jimmy is my uncle! Great guy
Literally just 10 minutes of you driving around the CITY on a cloudy day. Probably jealous you can’t afford to live here.
Not jealous but you sound like 99% of the assholes that do live there. So thank you for proving my point. 🖕🏻
601 TRAVELS How long have you even spent here? Surely you cant interview 54,000 people so how did you come up with most of them being asshats? Again, you’re making a drive through video on a city you know nothing about and clickbaiting people with the title leading them to the assumption that you’re going to make an argument.
I lived there for 20 years. I know exactly what I’m talking about. If you are happy there, more power to you, but everyone knows Milford is full of elitist pricks.
601 TRAVELS Not everyone here is a prick. I got news for you buddy, there are assholes everywhere. Yes milford has crappy areas too. I know a lot of hard-working people that are proud to be there but because we’re squashed between stratford, bridgeport, and new haven, people tend to think we’re all assholes because we can afford to live in shoreline houses and luxury apartments. This isn’t westport, this is milford. A good 1/3 of people here live in small houses in devon. Not everyone here has lots of money.
601 TRAVELS I get where you’re coming from if you’re the typical Foran High School graduate from the Woodmont area thats surrounded with mansions and nice houses, but thats not what all of milford is like. I didn’t grow up in Woodmont so I don’t know what the people there are like but I know that the people in Devon and downtown all have mixed personalities and can’t be judged based off their wallets.
