  • Today on the Alberta Roundup with Rachel Emmanuel, Rachel explains how the Liberal government’s “anti-greenwashing” legislation is bad news for Canadian businesses, particularly Alberta’s oil and gas sector. As a last minute amendment to the government’s fall economic statement bill, C-59, the government will now require businesses to back up their environmental claims or otherwise be accused of “greenwashing.”
Also on the show. Rachel has an update about a new cellphone policy in Alberta schools.
Later, Rachel has an update about the Alberta NDP leadership race and she explains why she doesn’t like the Alberta is Calling campaign.
Tune into the Alberta Roundup now!

Banning cellphones from classrooms is just going to put the responsibility on the teachers to take away the fix from cellphone addicted kids. Parents really need to step up and actually BE Parents.

When I was chewing gum in class (against the rules) it was up to the teacher/school to manage me breaking the rules in class, not my parents. We have come to these kind of measures because weak-@$$ teachers, principals and school boards have abdicated control over the classrooms.

There has to be a way to turn this law and use it against the green industry, make them have to explain how they are actually improving the environment like they claim. That's the only way to deal with insane laws like this, use it against the companies that this is supposed to protect.
Yeah I think companies should be pushing back and not complying with the law. I think that should be the case with every idiotic law that Trudeau brings in but I understand why they don't - Trudeau will have no issues wasting our money to fight them in court, it costs them money to fight him. Problem is if they comply, doesn't matter if they take him to court and win as the damage is already done. Look at his plastic ban, it was deemed unconstitutional yet good luck getting a plastic bag anywhere, he still gets his way as companies complied instead of fighting back. They need to be the ones doing it but easier to just go along i guess.
