My hats off to you fellas who can take and set the cameras up for each shot, I tried it and to be honest thats to many irons in the fire for me haha. Stay safe
I always say it takes 10 times longer to do something when you’re making a video.
Thanks for the class and the new logo stickers. See ya at the next Sprint.
Thanks for watching!
GREAT video. Very clear, detailed, and efficient use of time with the fast forwards. Thank you for taking all the time to set this up and edit all together, you have helped out a lot of riders.
Thank you for the feedback and thanks for watching!
Great video, great help!
Thank you very much for the vid! I’m stuck, one of the inner racers is not coming out and I don’t know what to do 😢 ( that one at the 1:47 mark)
If someone has a vice with less jaw opening they can use a standard socket behind the bearing till it bottoms out then switch to a deep wall socket. Good video.
Yes, you’re right. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this excellent tutorial
Thanks for watching!
First time changing them or lubing them at 140hrs? What’s the recommended time to lube and change?
What size wrench did you use at 1:09? Thank you so much and have a great day!!
What all sockets did you use for the bearings?
I’m sorry, I didn’t note the specific socket sizes. It varies by wall thickness, length, drive size, etc. I find that 1/2 drive is best for the thru bolt method. I just sort through various ones until I find one slightly smaller than the bearing for pressing the bearing and one large enough to catch the bearing on the other side. Hope that helps.
Great video Donnie!
Thanks!
I need my lower shock bearing replaced can i do it without taking it out and do it in place thanks its a 98 kx250 😮
Great video!
Thanks for watching!
I bought a YZ250FX with a lowering linkage already installed I'm thinking about putting it back to stock I'm 6 ft 175 is it a waste of time or should I put it back to stock It does sit low and this is my first dirt bike so that might be easier for me to learn on but I'm pretty handy with the bike already because I came from downhill mountain biking. Do you think it's a big deal or just leave it alone. Another thing the guy had a shop heat the front fork coils to lower it and I bought some New front springs but they are for the f and not the FX so they're slightly stiffer but again I'm used to jumping 30 ft gaps on my mountain bike so I figured a little stiffer it would help once I learn how to jump this bike. I'm basically trying to put it all back to stock so I know what at least stock feels like but I also don't want to waste my time if it's not that big of a deal
Oh yeah it's a 2021 with 40 hours on it
I would put the stock linkage and springs back on it. The lowering link significantly changes the handling of the bike. It effectively changes the rake angle. Heating the fork springs is definitely not the proper way to lower forks and that will have a big impact on the rebound damping. Go back to stock and then work with a reputable suspension shop for revalving if needed.
@@DirtBikingwithDonnie yep I switched out that linkage before I even rode it yesterday. This is my first dirt bike so I'm not sure how it's supposed to feel but it felt okay It did feel a little front diving but I'm used to Enduro mountain bikes and not such a soft suspension. I got the yz250F front springs on March 1st so I'm going to swap those in they are a little bit stiffer than the FX's but they are used a little bit so maybe that puts them somewhere between the FX and the f. I got five weight fork oil do you know how much I should put in each stanchion tube.
@@ls1chevy2 I put 295 ml in my outer fork tubes. There's a range you can use to customize the feel. Check out this video and download the full service manual for the bike. I also uploaded the service manual in the files sections of the YZ250FX Owners group on Facebook. ruclips.net/video/kMYYbEGx--I/видео.htmlsi=wpFWZlF_nVmh4O23
@@DirtBikingwithDonnie oh that's a good resource thank you
Donnie, did you inspect the old bearings? How did the look?
Had you noticed any slop or poor performance leading up this?
I’ve seen much worse. There was some wear on the bushings but no visible slop yet. I’m getting this bike ready to sell and it’s seen its share of wet, muddy conditions so I don’t want to pass along any potential problems.
What bike did you have in mind next?
@@SketchyXC I bought a 2023 YZ250FX. Vids on that coming soon.
Very nice! If it aint broke dont fix it right!
@@DirtBikingwithDonnie You are a stand-up guy. New bearings in the for-sale bike! We have raced once together...last year at the Gobblergetter NEPG. I hope we can race together again. I'm moving to 50B next season also!
What are the torque specs for dog bone and knuckle?
I think 59-65 ft lbs is what the manual says. I'm sure just good n tight is fine, I don't even think he used a torque wrench.
Can you please tell me the torque specs for those bolts Donnie
