    How Alex doesn't have more subs is beyond me. He makes much more detailed and informative videos than most car channels.

      I agree that he is the best I've seen on YT or anywhere else for that matter. Don't know why he doesn't have a million + subs because I do believe he is the standard by which all others should be measured.

    If you enter the Acura vehicle settings, you can enter into the driver assist settings and turn on warnings either visually or audibly to let the driver know that the lane keep or acc has disengaged.

    I have a 2017 model and found that there is a setup option to make the system beep at you when LKAS (Lane Keeping Assist )disengages. It was off by default. Something to note, while the LKAS disengages allowing the vehicle to drift out of the lane, there is a second safety feature Lane Departure Warning system that kicks in if you start to drive outside your lane.

    If you go into the settings you can enable an option for the system to beep (you can choose between three levels of loudness) when the system is disengaged. It is disabled by default.

    You should test the new Ls that really has advance level semi autonomous driving even at higher speeds, it even turns the steering for you on a curve or bend plus it changes lane as well. Then it has that world first pedestrian/object detection with active steering while keeping u in lane as much as possible. The new Ls really has stepped up the semi autonomous feature and the 2020 refresh model from has been reported and unveiled will take autonomous driving to levels never seen.

      @danielc3321 7 лет назад +2

      Pops Mifune agreed. I've never owned a car with radar cruise control, but my next car will probably have it. I've often wondered how the system deals with merging. I do a lot of driving on an old two lane highway, and the on ramps are quite short. Merges can happen very quickly on this road.

    • @cmans79tr7
      @cmans79tr7 6 лет назад

      I have a 2016 Accord with radar cruise control and on the turnpike the system is not at all shy about correctly and strongly decelerating if someone merges (cuts me off) into my "safety zone", the distance of which is also adjustable from one to five bars. It is so responsive that sometimes I'll override the deceleration by stepping on the gas if I think it braked too soon. I absolutely LOVE the radar cruise control. I believe it adds to your situational awareness.

    @JamesRussoMillas 7 лет назад +4

    Anyone else think it's kinda stupid that it turns off the system if you don't respond? Say you fell asleep or something. I feel like better punishment for lazyness is loud noises rather than a potential accident.

  • @SteveBeliveau
    @SteveBeliveau 5 лет назад

    If you happen to fall asleep or even have a heart attack and stop touching the wheel, fear not. Cruise control will keep up your speed but it will safely crash you into the ditch the next turn on the freeway.

    • @skullsroad3642
      @skullsroad3642 7 лет назад +6

      Zuriel Briones I'm sure it just slows down to create the same distance. Just like you should be doing when someone merges in front of you. The space it leaves is exactly how people should be be driving but unfortunately they prefer to be right on your ass, tapping the brakes and gas like a moron.

    • @vq37zu
      @vq37zu 7 лет назад +4

      Christopher McGlaughlin I'm sure it'll slow down. I'm glad you're positive about the distance. But I bet it's not fun and games anymore when you're behind the car with the low speed assistance on that's letting everyone through.

    • @youfoundisaac
      @youfoundisaac 7 лет назад +2

      I live in Southern California, and I'm a full time rideshare driver.
      One thing you might not have noticed is that the car with three or four car lengths in front of it is going so slowly that it never needs to stop. The average speed of all drivers through a congested section is likely equal to the actual (mode) speed of the slow car, or rather vice-versa. But the slow driver experiences less wear and tear. Both mechanically and psychologically.
      I highly suggest 'Traffic' by Tom Vanderbilt

    • @subabro2013
      @subabro2013 7 лет назад

      youfoundisaac in fact the car that slowly comes up to a red light and never stops is going faster when it turns green. Same as how the speed you exit a turn is one of the most important aspects to racing. But people are generally dumb at driving so what do ya do

    • @samsonokoro5036
      @samsonokoro5036 7 лет назад +1

      Zuriel Briones I would never use this feature in my country where we have insane drivers and limited checks by law enforcement on the roads. It's virtually impossible to leave this gap in traffic where I live, at least 2 cars would merge into my your lane instantly without caring for safety expecting you to slam your brakes hard in order not to cause collision. These safety systems are meant for countries where driving codes are adhered as much as possible with civilised drivers on the road

Aside from mileage taxes, you will see "destination taxes", such as if the car goes to a grocery store, there will be fixed fee taxes incurred onto your account that is autodebited from your bank account. No money in bank account = locked out from starting vehicle, with a $500 reactivation fee.

      Dustin Hart you have to have an open mindset to these driver assistance and autonomous systems. Statistics have shown that since autopilot was released to Teslas the crash rate decreased significantly. While I understand this is Tesla and not Acura, it's still the principle.

    • @TodayWithDustin
      @TodayWithDustin 7 лет назад

      Chase C. I fully understand the expectations of these systems however, trusting technology is the stupidest thing I’ve heard. I mean some people say I’m an old soul and that I should move on but the thing is why fix what isn’t broken? Steering wheel controls so we don’t take our eyes off the road, okay. Not this stuff. I’m 100% against Autonomy so I don’t agreee with this at all. I’d never use it and I’d never trust it ESPECIALLY with my family in the car.

    • @JesseOsby
      @JesseOsby 7 лет назад +4

      Our current system (human drivers) killed over 100 people a day in the U.S. in 2016. Do you really think this will do any worse?

    • @TodayWithDustin
      @TodayWithDustin 7 лет назад +1

      JesseOsby Yes I do. People will start relying on technology, on these systems and the problem with that is, it can get more people killed then before. Another thing is if the country as a whole would amp up their “driving schools” and their “driving tests” then maybe we wouldn’t have so many accidents. Maybe a yearly or twice a year test for people would make them realize wow I need to pay attention.

    • @directorjustin
      @directorjustin 7 лет назад +2

      "...the thing is why fix what isn’t broken?" In this context, human drivers are what's broken. Autonomy is "fixing" what we, humans, fail at doing: Keeping control of a car in what would otherwise be a disastrous situation. We all might one day have our family's life saved by an autonomous system, whether it be in our car or someone else's. I understand that someone might be hesitant to trust new technology, but I hope that further evidence over time can one day convince that someone into getting an autonomous car.
