Felix worked with a JYP Labs producer called Shim Eun-Jee (he wrote the lyrics, they composed it together, and she arranged it and played the piano). When it came out, she posted a note on her Instagram about their collaboration and was full of praise for him. If I remember correctly, she was asked by someone at Division 1 if she was interested in working with a member of one of their boy groups (she usually works more for girl groups) and she had no idea who Felix was. She also said that she was very impressed by his voice and how easily he could follow her directions for the harmonies, and that we haven't heard Felix' full potential, yet. There is no more behind the scenes than this (as far as I'm aware) other than Felix talking about the lyrics on various occasions, so it is hard to tell how much influence she had in bringing out all these qualities of his voice so beautifully. But I think she really supported him well in the part that she played and it would be cool if they worked together again, if he ever wanted to explore this style of songs more.

This song is one of my favorites of stray kids. He wrote the lyrics and talks about them a little. My favorite part is also the harmonization's of his voice and like you love his deeper tones. I have heard many many vocalist with deep voices but Felix's vocals are so much more that you do feel it in your soul when he sings. I think you will also like the video where Felix and Bang Chan do a karaoke cover song Zion. They scored a 100 on the song. His vocals are so amazing in this song and so different. Felix is literally a solo choir. A one man band. If that makes sense lol. He has so much more to give and I'm wholeheartedly here for it ❤. Felix wrote the lyrics while sitting in the park in one day. Sim Eun Ji composed it with Felix and Sim Eun Ji arranged it.

Felix really does seem to have at 3 different guys in his throat. 👀🤣 The first time I heard this song it definitely surprised me as well. I started paying attention in their other songs to see if/when Felix gets to show off his range. I know from other clips Ive seen that Felix isnt the most confident about his mid-range voice. But in songs like Any and Leave for example, he uses both low and mid range. Its funny how much this same kind of thing also applies to Changbin. If you only saw God's Menu and then listened to Because (Felix and Changbin), it would blow your mind. Changbin has a super sweet vocal tone. It's like he's giving you a hug. I first heard this song while wearing headphones, while driving my motor bike. I had just downloaded the album as soon as it was out and couldn’t wait to get home, so I played it while driving home. I thought it was Felix and another group of people collaborating. I had no idea it was just him. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I stopped to look at the actual picture of the song and saw only him and read the cover. 😮 I was in shock 😳 for days.
Felix is SO amazing with his vocal range! Love him! Just for fun, you should check out an artist named Dimash, his vocal range is off the charts, literally his highest note goes beyond any other human voice!
Actually, Felix and another JYP artist\producer, Sim Eunjee, wrote the song :) Felix's singing is so beautiful, he is an ANGEL (Like Hyunjin calls him all the time!), and his voice here matches his personality. STAY knows how much his different his deep and full voice doesn't match his warm, fun, and funny personality. He's like a Sunshine (It's one of his nicknames actually)

Replay was a HUGE (25 song) Album the first half of which were written for the album - Including Deep End - The second half is a collection of tracks that were previously only on YT. I definitely recomend the album this song is a part of, SKZ-REPLAY (you'll find it on their RUclips channel if you want the official videos). You get 8 individual songs, and it's super interesting to see what musical color each of them chose to present themselves. There are more songs on that album, of course, starting with FAM (it has an MV, it's on the "SKZ-REPLAY" playlist... have you heard anything from that one?) and #LoveStay (also has an MV, it's on the album playlist) but my point today is about those 8 songs. Since you started with Felix, you could do the maknae line first: Han's "Run", Seungmin's "Stars and Raindrops" and I.N's "Hug Me". And then the hyung line: Bang Chan's "Connected", Lee Know's "Limbo", Changbin's "Doodle" and Hyunjin's "Love Untold". Or do however you want, choose your own adventure!
They also recently did something like this on their lastest tour, where 6 of them performed new individual songs, while Lee Know and I.N performed their SKZ-Replay's song live for the first time.
