bee boo Basically Optimus Prime was a true hero in the original 80s cartoon and would never do anything like, say rip off the head and spinal column of an unarmed surrendering Megatron like, say Optimus Prime in the new movies who is a cold blooded killer in bed with the CIA. Fucked up my childhood heroes Hollywood, fuck you Hollywood, fuck you Michael Bey. (Yeah, I still kept on watching cos let's face it, even while they're butchering my favourite characters giant robots fighting is fucking cool.)
the 80's cartoon was a toy ad, for children, so therefore they weren't allowed that level of violence.
that and in dotm megatron wasn't surrendering, he was likely going to backstab prime or make a new plan.

I remember meeting a GoBots fan. That was the saddest thing ever. Everyone felt sorry for the dude but we also laughed throughout the argument of Transformers vs GoBots. We just kept pounding all possible methods that a single Transformer could take down the entire GoBot cast at him. It didn't last long.

Actually, The Transformers TV show came out about a month before Challenge of the GoBots, However, the GoBots toyline came out a year before The Transformers Toyline.
So Transformers copied GoBots on toys, however they were first to the TV shows and movies,

A lot of the Gobots toys were actually really cool! Every kid that was into Transformers usually had some Gobots too. I think the main reason TF's surpassed GB's was because the TF cartoon was more sophisticated (be it a kids cartoon). More intelligent storytelling and very well developed personalities. The Gobot cartoon seemed like it was aimed more at a target audience of 4 years old. The TF stories and characters held up and stayed with us. The Gobots kind of stayed back with Sesame Street.

Yeah, one of the jokes is how Megatron sounds like a smoker in G1. Frank Welker was always my favourite despite the fact I wasn't around in the 80s.

It's too bad that Challenge Of The Gobots only had 1 season with 1 movie & was discontinued, but the Transformers has 25 seasons in cartoons, anime, live action & animated movies! Even robots from different worlds need to get along sometimes.
I love the fact that Megatron is actually a laid-back and chillax guy while on the other hand, Optimus is a short tempered and a bad mouthed hot head in this video.. xD

Anyone remember a Transformers parody video where Michael Bay was trying to convince Optimus and Megatron to do another Transformers movie and, at the end, Bay transformed into a giant douche inside a club? It was released years ago. I thought it was by CollegeHumor, but I can't find it on their RUclips Channel. Can't even find references to it on the net (Not surprisingly, searching for "Michael Bay" and "douchebag" brings up a lot of articles, all of which are calling Bay a douchebag but none of which seem to be related to what I'm actually searching for)
