    Nice little spot you have created on the deck. The lettuce looks like it's time to be cut for a salad!

    Tell Robin he can put some pebbles in the bottom of the botton planter or any of them and the water will drain though and go down through each. won't need many.

    Was gonna say you should ge a couple citronella plants to put out We put them by where we sit but we also put them by the doors where the lights get left on. It helps stop bugs from getting in the house. WE notice such a difference each year with those. Next year I am growing them from seeds. WE got a huge plant at home depot this year.

    Buying pots is SO expensive. Luckily, you will have them for years to come and next year your garden will be SO much cheaper to start. We added two new raised beds this year and soil is such an expense too. I was like... between the beds, new plants, plant food, and soil, a few more tomato cages and a new watering can we probably dropped 300 easily. But we get to enjoy this all summer long. And there is something so empowering about growing your own food. I am getting wild flower seeds to throw in a bunch of extra pots we have perinneals one and hopefully they will take off. I am also propogating hydrangea bushes this year. I've never donet that before but I want to see if I can get them to take off. gonna make our yard crazy beautiful. Also, my tomato plants are now coming back to life. I got a couple flowers now. Yeah!!! Also if you need more soil, Ace has top soil for like $2.49 a bag. started filling in with that since i do the plant food anyway. Keep us posted on the worm castings I've never used those but I want to know how well your veggies produce with it that is so natural and lvoely.

    One very important tip you need to learn is ,when a plant is dry ie your lettuce it needs watering ,and that dry ..needs soaking in a tub ,i wish you luck with the tub,but you know ,you learn as you go along,just pay attention so you know what you did right and what you did wrong!, do you have a water shortage in your part country ? Lizzie

    • @ThisMainerMom
      @ThisMainerMom  26 дней назад

      No shortages here! Our water is from a spring! 😃

    Sprinkle water over your lavender plant and the bugs won’t come around you.

    Karen and Robin, great team work planting up the stackable planter tower with your greens. 🥬 I think it was very awkward to fill, so personally I don’t think I’d have the patience. Also, I agree with what you said about the planter being better for small seedlings. It might be good for small trailing annuals like Lobelia, Creeping Jenny, Verbena, Indian Mint, Ivy, etc. which could cascade down the sides and hide the plastic container.
