Honestly my favourite farm is the auto chicken cooker. Chickens on a hopper set to a dispenser and a repeater to shoot the eggs. Lava and a half slab and boom. Infinite cooke chicken
hey, if you created these yourself i think you would be a great member for a hermitcraft like server that i aam an admin on.We are looking for some builders/redstoners and i think you would be a good fit
"Your first problem will be food right?": Apparently not. Apparently it will be getting the 25 iron for three hoppers and a minecart, 20 dust for 2 redstone blocks and 6 gold for the two powered rails, and practically a full stack of wood. Just so I can get a berry harvester that won't feed anyone fast enough to prevent hunger if you are doing anything but walking.
@@rulvra3072 I don't have a problem with a berry farm, but it's purely extra and isn't a good starter farm because it doesn't produce much food and early on 25 iron is a lot of iron and even 20 dust is hard to get. Plus, no guarantee at all you'll be anywhere near any berries. This is a lot harder to build than an automated chicken cooker and produces less food. Heck, you'd be better off making manual wheat, cow, sheep and chicken farms in the time you'd spend collecting the items and making this. This is clearly content for contents sake and not practical advice.
@@nightraider5100 If we are early enough on in the game that food is a real limitation, we are probably harvesting wood with like a stone ax and so it's going to take more like 10 minutes. With all the other things you need to do to get a your base up and running, building this resource intensive of a farm for this little profit just isn't worth it. I mean, you do you, it's a sandbox, but the whole idea of rushing in the early game to make a berry farm is silly. Early game getting the resources for this and building it might take an hour you could have spent on almost anything else. Late game the resources are trivial, but I've never had a food shortage in the late game.
In the first farm only the middle chest will hold items. Since you put redstone block near the two side hoppers, It will lock them so the items won't flow into the chest. A simple fix will be to get rid of them. You won't fill the a double chest with berries unless you have game tick set to a high number or let it run very long time
Getting what you need to build some of these farms are gonna take some time if your just starting out but this video has pretty good concepts to think about especially with the bamboo powered furnace.

"when you start out you need food" so you need iron gold redstone slime string foxes near your base and berry bushes. Now you have a farm that gives you the worst food in the game. Cool looking farm but I cant see it being practical especially for a starter farm. it's infinitely easier to just grow wheat until you get yourself animals.

Do more survival vids like this but make some mid or end game farms as well.also always show what block we need before getting to the build it self beacuse its so annoying when your in survival and you realize you miss some thing very important.good luck:)
I do think a materials list at the beginning would be helpful. I watch the video once all the way through and make my own before watching it a second time while I work on the build. That actually makes it easier to remember so that I don't have to refer back to the video as often as well.
Another infinite fuel farm that doesn't need redstone: Lava farm. Put 9 cauldrons on a square, 9 blocks of non-flammable material two blocks above the cauldrons, nine stalactites just below the blocks, and at least one bucketful of lava. As the lava fills the cauldrons, you can use it to add more lava to the top, until you have nine cauldrons churning out lava. One bucket of lava is the equivalent of 400 bamboo sticks in one item.
Maybe the concept is different for others, but these seem more like _early game_ farms as opposed to _starter farms,_ with the possible exception of the iron farm, not because of the inherent difficulty, but because of the resources. Pistons, leads, powered rails and glowstone aren't "starting" resources, IMHO. And while I think the Unlimited fuel/Bamboo farm is great, you have to go to a desert and jungle biome for those. _To me,_ having to travel to 2-3 biomes for a build doesn't sound like a "starter" build. YMMV. I have personally never been to a jungle biome in a SSP world, so maybe I just don't explore enough. I manage desert after desert and various forest and mountain biomes, but never made it to a jungle. My current world is a large biome world and I started on four blocks of dirt in the middle of an ocean. Swam for about 2,000 blocks and found a large island, where I've been ever since. Maybe I should start a new world? lol
Aesthetics: 8/10 Usefullness: 1/10 There are literally 100’s of farms which are less resource intensive and produce a lot more. This just looks nice but isn’t practical at all. Seriously, who has redstone when you don’t even have food? Who spends 10+ iron when you don’t even have food? The idea is nice, but it just doesn’t work. For example, if you really want to go practical. Spend your 3 iron on a bucket, get water, put some cows in a 1x1 space in the water. Hopper beneath with a chest. Feed them. It takes less than half of the items and works 10x better as well. I’m sure there are better ways too.
I need help I built this exact thing and it didn't work the issue is The Hoppers are filling up at the bottom but nothing is getting transferred into the crate the barrel or the furnace after it gets cut it just sticks into the hopper and stays there
When placing them did you direct the outlet of the hopper towards the thing that it is to fill? If trying to fill into a barrel, for example, hold shift then place the hopper on the barrel itself, not on the ground next to the barrel.
How are these beginners farms if you use glowstones, foxes, and tons of stuff. I love the constructions, but none of this is buildable without a few hours into the game. And the first construction was like „your first problem is food“. Yes, but I haven‘t encountered a biome with foxes and I played for 2 weeks daily.
When I think of “starter farms” I’m thinking of semi-automatic wheat farms, maybe a villager breeder. Farms that require little more than some basic wooden planks. None of these are “starter farms.”

Does the iron farm need a zombie to scare villagers to force a golem spawn?
Pretty new to Minecraft and it would be so amazingly helpful if you could do a mats list at the start of the farms! Other than that, great farms!
I do not consider these starter farms.
Uses too mid to late game resources.
