    Nice … I added play sand to my dark grey paint for the stone texture. Used the same process for my tombstones.

    Great video! I am doing pillars and faux stone work this Halloween. I am using monster mud instead of dry lock to add graininess to the surface area. After adding my dark and light paint tones to the product, I like to take greatly dilute black paint or wood stain and pour it over the surface area to simulate weathering. Thanks for inspiring others to be creative!!!

      Thanks! And yeah I didn't have anything to make the monster mud on hand all I had was some drylock from a few other projects I worked on. Sand and drylock will give that type of texture also. But again I didn't have sand on hand. Oh well tho. Still turned out good and it was fun making them. Yours sounds like it will be awesome looking!

    How do you keep them falling over

    • @anniemae1987
      @anniemae1987  3 месяца назад +1

      @tedbraytonjr8342 good question! I have wood trim on the bottom. And then attached them to my fencing I made. Never had an issue with wind. If your in a windy state then drill a hole in the bottom and place pvc pipe inside then you'll wanna take rebar and pound in the ground then slip the pillar that has the pvc inside over the rebar. 😀 I'm just about done with my tall pillars for my cemetery entrance and I'll explain all that in my video.

    Did you call or just go in and ask first? I have been dreaming of these silly blocks. I’m afraid if I call they will just say no.

    • @anniemae1987
      @anniemae1987  Год назад +1

      Yeah you'll wanna call an ask to talk to a manager. Most say yes come take them. However I've heard some people say they send them back or pay 1.00 for block. Mine were all free. I took plenty they just loaded up a whole pallet of them and placed the whole thing in the bed of my truck. Just talk to a manager about the styrofoam shipping blocks. They will know what your talking about. I just called around everyone has them. I wasn't gunna show up (with gas prices) til I had someone who said yes we have them and yes you can have them. But hey worst thing they could say is no. And if you call they will never know who you are lol.

    • @NeverFourGotten
      @NeverFourGotten Год назад +1

      @@anniemae1987 I’d be willing to pay a $1 per block, if that’s what it takes.

      @@anniemae1987 I called and finally got a yes. The guy sounded really excited at first like they had a lot. He went to go count and then said they only had 2. I’m going to bat my eyes and try to swindle them out of more. Lol

      Lol what a way to get your hopes up. Hope u find some soon. Running outta time lol. I'm in the process of making a tree. Haven't seen anyone post any trees so I'm trying to picture it in my head. It's been a pain.

      That's what happens when the blocks are oddly shaped. On some of the sides it's not a full 19inches. O well. With everything else in my display I ain't gonna have an inspector going around to see if blocks are even lol.
