    Hello guys thanks for watching! I do have a correction about ABWM the certification of certified wound specialist physician is only for MD/DO the others under ABWM you can also be a LPN, RN, NP/PA etc. You will choose the exam/certification that alines with whatever degree you hold. I hope this is not confusing you. Let me know what questions you have down below.

    Hello there, I’m a former Derm PA transitioning into a PT role with a mobile wound care company working 2 days a week! I’m happy to stumble across your channel as I am seeking a general idea of what to expect in this role over the long haul. I’m also looking forward to working outside the traditional clinic setting.

    Hello! Thank you for this video. I am excited about Wound Care Wednesdays!! Could you talk about how you come up with treatment plans? What are some challenging wounds you see and what makes them challenging?
    Also, (not for a video but for my curiosity) the guy you mentioned that is awesome at treating wounds.... do you say that because his patient outcomes are great? Thank you again! Looking forward to more of your videos.

    I think if I did become a NP specializing and only doing wound ostomy care would be the only are I would want to work in os that’s possible? As a nurse I just cannot get enough of coban dressings, wound vac, wound assessments and treatments, all the different types woundcare products and what they are all used for, the different dressings l, the different Npwt devices that can be used. To me it is really fun and rewarding to see difficult wounds heal. Are there NP home health?

    Hi Laurie! I’m very interested in becoming a wound care NP. I currently work in the OR as an RN at a hospital and have PV/OH and general sx experience. I’m not sure which specialty to go into (AGNP vs FNP vs. Surgical NP) I would love to work mostly in hospitals and clinics and be able to help with debridements in the OR. How did you know for sure that being a wound care NP was right for you? Shadowing? How did you get your foot in the door to say?
    Thank you!

    • @fromcnatonp
      @fromcnatonp  4 года назад +3

      I actually did a video about what NP specialty is right for you, I will link it so you can have a better understanding on each. (ruclips.net/video/pkoue1hgnLw/видео.html)
      As for wound care, I was never interesting in wound care I actually took this job and wound care was apart of the deal and I had to do it. Fast forward 2 yrs now I actually like doing it. I was not aware that there is a Surgical specialty for NP. I do know that if you want to work in the hospital you need to get AGACNP to have that acute care training so that you will be able to work for the hospital being in the OR and all. I did meet a PA who works at the hospital as part of the plastics team that do a lot of the debridements but he is a PA and they do get those training in PA school. I was trying to see if I would be qualify to work with them but I am FNP sadly. I hope this helps

    Hey Laurie, I know you’re a FNP but do u know any public/community health nurses? Or have u done that during your rn career at all? I don’t see much about PHN on RUclips :/ also paying for school or loan repayment options? If u had any advice

    • @fromcnatonp
      @fromcnatonp  4 года назад +2

      I did have to do community health nursing as a BSN nursing student for a semester and I went to under served areas for children and so immunization and stuff but I don't know nay PHN. I did take loan for undergrad and for my grad program I did loan and out of pocket. If you become a NP and work in any under serviced area you can have loans forgiven but typically the pay would not be so great because the loans will be off set. Hope this helps
