Jeff Beck turned my wife and I on to Roy Buchanan, Jeff loved him, then I found this video and loved all three of them WOW What a show! We Miss You All R.I.P. we love you! The Frazier;s in Michigan
Albert's playing is like he's talking and singing lines on his guitar. every time I run across one of his live concerts I'm blown away. must have been great to be there.
I was at this show. Was a real mind blower for this 15 year old aspiring guitarist. Albert kind of stole the show, his band was on fire and the horns put everything over the top, but Lonnie and Roy were great too.
Thank you....he was wonderful and very kind, glad to have seen him several times. He was very nice and down to earth when I met him. Being a fan, you end up with some musical insights...and his arranging, selection of drummers, and how they played, the man put together a unique blues package
@@hjonm9730 Think the guys name was George Haines in particular he would play drums like dropping bombs, explosive accents on the one He worked with huge variety of players. Also Sarah Brown, on bass. Saw him most often in Austin at antones
@@DreamAuthorityMusic I never got to see Albert live, this show got me into blues heavy after SRV pushed me in that direction. Shame stevie couldn't make it to play with Lonnie. As for Albert I've seen coco Montoya several times and talked with him about albert. He was like a father to him, he taught coco how to play.
It was Jeff Beck that turned my wife Sandy and I on to Roy Buchanan jeff said he was in the USA on tour and it was raining so they were stuck indoors so he turned on the TV and found the world's Greatest unknown guitarist special on PBS. he loved Roy! we miss you BOTH! The "Fraziers" in Michigan
When Lonnie was in Michigan several years ago in Warren his wife Carol let us film part of his show, so we have it on home video Lonnie gave us his card and ask us to pass one on to Jeff, we did, Jeff loved Lonnie Mack as well as Albert Collins, We miss you ALL! Love the "Frazier's" in Michigan
When people ask me for a music video this is my go to, I have backstage photos from this show This is an amazing show Highly recommended M.Frazier in Michigan!
I’m lucky to have seen Albert play a couple times in a small club venue in Poughkeepsie NY. Half way into the show he’s on fire! His band The IceBreakers were amazing as well
Used to see Roy play in DC at My Mothers Place back in the early 70s. He was as Robbie notes as good then as he was when he passed but in reality he was even better. That club was often used by Rory Gallagher whenever he was near & opening for bands like Deep Purple & of course the late great Link Wray . Man those were the days & we miss these guys big time.
We never got to meet Roy the closest we came was we met Little Joe a friend of Roy's and he gave us a stage worn jacket of Roy's that was in the Rockpalast video which led us to finding out Roy had a unknown son, he is in Ohio and now has that jacket we felt like it was where it belonged. Roy you were amazing, Jeff was Right! we Love & Miss you both! RIP little Joe We love & miss you! The Frazier's in Michigan
honestly, I did know Lonniee Mack. I missed out on him so far. These vocals are so powerful and he has such a great way of accentuating. I don' t want to sound too harsh but how Roy Bachanan made it onto this list is a great mistery to me.
leon blue on keys, hugh williams on drums, johnny gayden on bass, abb locke on sax, gabriel flemmings on trumpet = collins band, then mack had dennis o'neal his drummer, + tim drummond on bass + sizzling stan szelest on keys, plus up there was roy's carey ziegler on bass & paul wilson on drums. stellar bluesmen one & all!!
I saw Lonnie Mack in a club in Vancouver, BC in 1985 or 6. He was playing that same candy red Flying V. It blew my mind, I said to him "That was the greatest thing I've ever seen!!" He said "NO IT WASN'T!!!"
All three gone, children. They're gone! Goddamn, some people go after giving joy and others go after delivering filth! Bless these outstanding virtuosi.
I saw this your in Denver. Instead of Albert Collins, it was Dickey Betts. Saw Albert twice, once at red rocks with Robert cray, big head Todd, and the staples singers. RIP roy and the iceman
Lonnie mack is from my Hometown of Lawrenceburg Indiana. Saw him in a bar with a roll of Dimes playing a illegal pinball machine. Lonnie was just another guy. Solid and based. Native Hoosier, like me. SRV collaborated with Lonnie, so that says everything. He was Awesome!
Albert used to play with a cord and would have one long enough he’d walk out into the street and play while everyone was inside . He was Great ! Had his own sound , you knew it was him !
I never knew that Charlie Daniels, asked Roy To be his new guitar player, after his old one died! DAT WOULDA CHANGED ALOT HAD HE TAKEN HIM UP ONNIT CHEW!

Yeah if Beck praised you like he did Roy I reckon you were the real deal. RIP Roy, Jeff, Albert and Lonnie ❤
I saw Roy in 1976 in Boston, so very glad.

I don't think we will ever see a better concert then this.

This gig really turned me on to Roy Buchanan: a phenomenal player.
3 fantastic guitarists and they were all cool.
Lonnie mack vocals are one most bluesy killer vocals ever
His early recording of the song WHY, is KEEAWSOME!

Amazing story and history youve shared. Thank you from a not-so-casual listener.

That was awesome of you to bring that jacket to it's rightful home.👉🏽👍🏽🫵🏽
Lonnie was the epitome of everything good about American music, but Roy? Jeez - this set makes it clear why every more famous artist worshipped him.
This is beautiful and so well played. Three of the greatest.
