Great video! I am also a trad bow hunter and also left handed! Shot the biggest bear of my life with my old favourite long bow a few years back! Keep up the great content!
Congrats on the bear and glad you are enjoying the content
Great tips Jason. . Travelling light for sure I like that tethered compass in your front pocket, protected and out of the way until you need it.Haven't had much luck with the thermacells. I think the bugs are built different up here in Canada lol
Nate
When I bear hunted in canda the bugs drank from my thermecell 🤣
😆🤣😆@@SamkoTradBow
Bambi!! 😢😢😢😢
We call it dinner
You got a gladiator 👊🏻
I did
23 rubicon. Put 35s on it and love it
@@SamkoTradBow life is good 😎👍🏻
@sheerwillsurvival2064 funnest and most capable truck I've ever owned.
How do you like the jeep vs the Tacoma?
The tacoma is a great truck. And reliability wise I don't think ther was a better truck. But in 24 that all changes. The gladiator is by far, I mean by far, the funnest truck I've ever owned (had 3 lifted and 3 stock wranglers before) and the off road capabilities of this thing is un matched. It's a beast in the swamps. And the rear seat apace is like 10 inches more than the tacoma and the under rear seat storage is un matched in a mid size. I bought it because of the amazing deal I worked but honestly I can not believe how amazing it is. Even the driving position, it's high with amazing views all around and so much more truck like where the twcoma is reminds me of driving a car.
Have you tried permethrin and picardin? Ive had really good luck with it here in ohio. The permethrin is dynamite against ticks and then a layer of picardin lotion is pretty good combo.
I use both. Permethrin for the ticks all spring and summer and picardin for gnats. Only thing that will stop the mosquitos here is deet. Thermecell helps tremendously too. But when it's breezy or when walking the Thermecell is not as productive. Deet is the name of the game down here.
Do the same thing up here in Pennsylvania. 79 degree today, hunt stand early morning or last 2 hrs in evening. Scout and stump shoot midday.
It's a great way ro enjoy the warm days
How about a onx review? I haven't had much luck with it
Love onx. Use it every single day.
I see THP using a certain lotion that’s a insect repellent but not sure the brand ! I think it’s unscented ? PERMETHRIN is the name… picaridin and cutter repellent are unscented also .
It's picardin. Down here the mosquitos drink it for a snack. But it works great for gnats
Taco RIP? 😢
Yep tacoma is gone. I loved it. But thos gladiator is the funnest truck I've ever owned and it's capabilities off road are unbelievable. I love it!
@@SamkoTradBow wow... was looking at buy one this year after your review. I'd be interested if you'd do a review of you Gladiator?
@@GotChrist60 check put my other channel. SamkoWorkShop on yourube link in thos video description. All kinds of gladiator and other truck stuff there
@@SamkoTradBow will do
I do not use bug spray. I would rather get ate by skeeters than dead from poison. I will use the thermacell if the bugs are really bad.
Im covered in deet on my bare skin 24/7 here.
With all the bug sprays and thermocel I will also have netting for my head. Works great. Or just wait till first frost. Good Luck Everyone
First frost here will be about January..lol
😃😃. Just subbed to your other channel. All really good content.
@1ststater611 thanks. Glad you enjoyed the vids
Ive been waiting for these kind of videos, best outdoor channel around hands down. Hope georgias treating you good!
Georgia was amazing the first week of the season seeing 5 bucks from stand. But then the wma had a 3 day gun season and a week later a 3 day muzzle loader season and I have not seen a deer there since. Trying a new wma tomorrow. It's crazy gow all the wmas around me have ao many early rifle weekends mixed in.
Jason is that your new ride?
Yes 23 jeep gladiator rubicon. I love it! I have some videos on it on my other RUclips channel called SamkoWorkShop
You have a lot of expensive gear. Have you ever had 30-40% DEET ruin any of your gear or make it sticky? I can remember as a kid DEET made the rubber handles on my casting reel really sticky. I live in the Northeast and I'm worried about ticks more than being annoyed by mosquitos. Also worried about DEET ruining my rubber boots.
I use 40% deet and no problems. Been drenched in the stuff daily for a year now. I use a rubber grip on my bow and zero issues.
@@SamkoTradBow Thanks for reply. So it must be the really high concentrations that ruin certain plastics.
@johnanon3081 yep stay away from the 100% it's like pil and brutal. And 100 doesn't work any better than 40%
Great video. I always compare the things you do to what I do. We do a lot the same. Keeps me on my toes.
Great minds think alike! Not that my wife thinks my mind is great🤣
Great info, thanks for sharing. Just got my tactisaddle harness in the mail. Did a trial run in the backyard and I am very impressed. Can’t wait to use it in the woods.
You are gonna love it!
Hi Jason, when you go out hunting, do you always keep your bow strung? or you will unstring your bow sometimes?
When you're at home, do you keep your bow strung? If you do, does your bow lose poundage?
Thank you.
A fiberglass laminated bow will not loose any pounds being strung all the time. I however unstring mine at the end of the day when hunting. Habit from Michigan where law requires it to be unstrung in transport. But at home when shooting regularly I will leave it strung the whole time for a week or 2.
@@SamkoTradBow
Thank you very much!
Jason, what happened to your beloved Tacoma? That's a Jeep ain't it?
Sold it and bought a jeep gladiator rubicon in august. Love it. Details and vids on all that sort of stuff on my other youtube channel called SamkoWorkShop. Link in the video description below.
I’ll never wear bug spray is loaded with horrible chemicals! I’d rather use essential oils or nothing at all. Thermacell is about the most I do
Same here. But I'm lucky enough to live up north where the mosquitoes are mostly gone by the time hunting season rolls around.
Same here. The crap will kill you. I live in Texas. I will cover up even if it is 105°.
Im always covered in deet.
@@SamkoTradBow Agreed. I don't like chemicals either, but tick borne diseases like Lyme Disease really scare me too.
