“My mom gave up everything for me. I was born in the Dominican Republic and my father lived in America. At 8 years old, she made the hardest decision of her life to allow me to come to the states to live with my dad and basically watch me grow up through a screen and pay phone calls.
When I was old enough, I brought her to the states and have worked tirelessly to make sure I try my best to repay her for making the hardest, most selfless decision in the hopes that my future would be bright.
I dedicate this and every accomplishment I will ever achieve to you. Without your support, strength and love I would not be who I am today. Thank you for giving me a fighting chance at a better life in America knowing it would mean sending me away and missing my most life-changing moments. You are my hero and I owe it all to you.
