Why Winners Always Win And Losers Always Lose

  • Why does it seem like some people always come out on top?
They dominate in a lot of different areas and everything just seems to go their way.
And why are certain individuals unable to catch a break and always get the short end of the stick?
Does it just boil down to luck and genetics? Maybe.
However, I believe there are additional factors at play here.
Let’s explore some of them to gain a better and more nuanced understanding of why some people just keep succeeding and why others keep failing.
And more importantly, I’ll show you the way to use all of that information to your advantage.

Not everything should be seen as a win. If you procrastinate over your work and decide to spend the day playing games, that is not a win.
The message should be, perceive your efforts as a win, not the results.
Example: you win if you post one youtube video every week, regardless of the views it has.
Praising our effort develops a growth mindset and allows us to focus on our actions instead of the end results

    • @Abionox
      @Abionox Месяц назад +5

We can both agree that effort is key. Maybe the message should be to focus on celebrating both the effort and small wins along the way.

Having supportive parents should be on this list(not just financially) but just them being around and giving good life advice is huge. At my school, I could always tell which kids had good parents just by how they strived for good grades and they always had some extracurriculars scheduled and help with homework. If you had that, give your parents a big hug because a lot of us didn’t.

"That which you don't know, controls you." - some awesome historical person
I was born in FEB 94 but studied with 93 kids, I was bad at studies in KG and teachers wouldn't help me but helped other kids
Later my genetic intelligence kicked in
I loved basketball but was too short for it, the school coach took other tall kids to inter school game and I didn't even knew it, by the time of high school my genetics again kicked in, I got tall, and he saw me play for the first time in near last days of school and his mouth was open wide when he saw me intercepting passes.
I kept getting full marks in Maths and very high marks in sciences but my teacher's aversion to my bad handwriting and my own lack of ambition never let me take studies seriously , never studying at home etc.
never played basketball beyond the local backyard.
After watching this video I felt like I should have the winner's mindset all the time, keep attacking from all angels FTW. Others are not innately more well adjusted/consistent, I just need to break old long habits.
your video 'mini habits' made me do positive things for the first time in life, and this video gave me such an absolute confidence.
Thank you, thank you, fellow traveler.

I read the outliers book long ago and it really opened my eyes about how the small differences can snowballing into massive differences.
It must suck to be a kid born into december, having poor background and a depressed view of life ( well, if they are born into december, having poor background, they are often feeling inferior comparing themselves with other kid who are stronger, smarter,... richer in their class which lead to further plummeting their confidence, make them tend to have a depressed view of life. You can't really not compare when you go to school and fit in a class with all the kid the same age as you ).
So, a depressed view of life can just be a product of being born late in the year and having a poor or complicated background...
Well, that is something outside of what we can control so we should just try to make the small changes, take the small victories and slowly rising our confidence.

I certainly was able to overcome. I was born in October and started Kindergarten at age 4 and 1st grade at age 5. I was an average HS student, better than average college student. I was very successful in my career in 30 to 55. Then the climate began to definitely go against me. Age discrimination is real! Maybe it wasn’t really my age, it was that they could hire brand new grad nurses at a steep discount salary! I was no longer valued for having 20 years of experience! Hospitals became all about the money. RNs like me left the profession and started different careers.

I was born in August while my classmate was born in March....I graduated highschool with 80% while he got 72... But then he got admitted to a better college because of community reservation,i had some family issues that hampered by ability to do well....
I finally graduated engineering with around 70% marks & pandemic restrictions made hard to get help....So, I took up a temporary job in food delivery(as it was essential services) so I could bypass these restrictions to a certain degree and go to my professor's home to learn....
So,while the study may be a determining factor for sport, there are more variables at play for academics.... (Luck, how we deal with setbacks, being able to afford good mentors, finding our weak spots and improving 1% everyday etc ..)

When I was a child there were 4 admissions terms per year, starting in September after the 6 weeks holiday. So the youngest in class were this born in the summer before the start of September.
By the time my eldest went to school in the early 80s, it was changed to only two admissions per year. September and January.
Then by the time my younger sons started it was reduced even more to only one block of admissions a year from September.
Abandoning 3 admission terms per year made a huge negative impact on a lot of children who have since been wrongly deemed to have learning difficulties.

Of course! The inverse is also true, and many older kids get bad grades. The relative age effect is just one component that can give someone an advantage, there are many more pieces of the puzzle to consider. But when examined in a vacuum, you're statistically more likely to do better if you're older

@@BetterThanYesterday Well, it starts off quite discouraging you could say, as it makes you responsible for all your problems, since it says they're all problems in how you deal with others. It doesn't get much better, since it predicts you're gonna need to work on building healthy relationships with others and restructure your life in a matter of time that equals about half your current life time. On the other hand the payoff couldn't be more worth it: you're genuinely happy and your life is easy (and you're probably a productive and responsible member of society). The hardest part for me lies within the base assumptions like "every human has the same value". It's easy to say, but abandoning your way of comparing people seems daunting. Likewise saying "Just existing alone makes you valuable." seems like an assumption made in a happy place with lots of privilege. Then again we'd probably have that, if everyone had that kind of philosophy.

I was actually born in January, but that didn't matter. Where I live kids start first grade at age 6, but they can make an exception for kids a few months younger if the parents have good reason. My parents decided to enroll me a year early because they had work in the mornings and it was convenient for them. So I was always the smallest kid in class, I've also been diagnosed with ADHD and needless to say, school wasn't a good time for me, or any time afterwards for that matter.

The more mature the soul, the less it is influenced by the limitations of the body dictated by the laws of the animal world. Of course, the majority of humanity is at the initial stage of awareness, which is why the statistics presented in this video exist.

So… science says success compounds and that people with an early advantage are always further ahead, but your takeaway for the viewer is that if they aren’t successful despite being disadvantaged, it’s still their fault? Tf?

Living in a hypocritical society causes cognitive dissonance because recognizing that uncontrollable factors dictate our lives can lead people to feel helpless, realizing that their best efforts may only allow them to barely get by.

Bruh…stop. All he’s saying is if you are disadvantaged, your best bet to turn that around is to switch your perspective. Quit worrying about where to place blame, that isn’t anywhere near as important as fixing the disparity. Besides, there is NO ONE to blame. Nobody chooses what they’re born into, advantaged or not.

I'm not exactly sure how you came to that conclusion, as I never stated that it's anyone's fault. On the contrary, I've pushed the narrative, that a lot of it is out of our control, quite hard. And at the end, I've merely offered a tool, which is to change our perspective, to make the most out of our situation

With the amount of content I've been posting, I'm not surprised that the views are down😅 Luckily this metric is not as important to me, and I'm actually doing better than ever!
